We had a disappointing experience trying to get started with Cesar. We have a well-established yard with a wide variety of plants and have invested significantly in professional landscaping over the years, so we were looking for someone detail-oriented for ongoing maintenance and cleanup. Cesar came out on 4/2 to walk the property. He was pleasant, seemed knowledgeable, and was familiar with the plant types. We walked the entire property and discussed the full scope in detail. He said he would send a proposal before the weekend. That didn't happen. After following up with him on 4/8, we were told we'd have it by 4/10. The proposal finally came through on 4/11. While the pricing was reasonable, the proposal itself was vague and didn't reflect the level of detail discussed during the walkthrough. Several key areas and plant types weren't included. We followed up the same day to confirm the full scope. As of 4/19, we've received no response. At this point, the issue is the lack of follow-through and communication. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend him, especially for projects that require attention to detail and reliable communication. read more

We needed a tree service to remove a very dangerous broken eucalyptus branch that was hung up on a large plumbago bush. Cesar brought in a crew of five to safely remove the branch. We also needed a large bougainvillea bush trimmed back. And not in the contract, the Amazon crew removed a large broken branch from another tree. All this at a very reasonable contract price. Amazon Tree Service did a wonderful job on our backyard hillside. Our backyard needed a lot of help. The trees were out of control, and the hillside was overgrown with wild plants and bushes. At the point when it was getting to be claustrophobic, we contacted a bunch of landscaping services from Yelp and got multiple bids for the project. Amazon Tree Service came right in the middle as far as pricing, but talking to Cesar in our first meeting made me feel at ease. He took the time to assess the project, pointed out the challenges, and was very invested--even for the first consultation. That's why we decided to go with his company. Amazon cleaned out our hillside, got rid of all the weeds and unwanted bushes, trimmed and pulled back the trees, treated the hillside soil, planted greenery and plants, installed a timer sprinkler system, mounted lights on our trees as well as spotlights on the ground, and even helped us with our front yard planter and lighting. Throughout the process, we ran into issues, as can be expected, but Cesar and his team was very vocal when it came to troubleshooting and discussing options to find the best solutions. They truly did an incredible, excellent job and I could not have been more pleased with their services. Cesar came out to provide an estimate. At this point, I have had 5-6 other contractors view and price this project. By far, I am impressed with his style during the appt. He was thorough, asking about spots I didn't even bring up (like flower beds, size yard, etc.) and he took measurements of EVERYTHING. Why does this matter? Well, a few contractors came in, looked at the yards and quoted me a price for cleanup/haul away. They would then quote me sod, irrigation, hardscape AFTER the first phase. A few other contractors came out, took a few overall measurements and quoted me the price based off of guestimations (in my opinion). I have not received the estimate from Amazon Tree Service yet but I know it will be pretty dang accurate and probably all inclusive. I hope their estimate is in line with my budget because I am ready to hire Cesar immediately. But, sometimes even great customer service can't warrant a hike in cost... Time will tell! read more

This company did an amazing job! I had a large stump which they removed as well as re-did my landscape. I had just moved into my new home which has a small yard and looked bare. Cesar came over and gave me a few ideas which worked with my budget. They installed Decomposed granite (DG), placed some gravel, planted nice plants which were recommended by them, mulch, stones, bender board, and the drip irrigation. They did all of this work quickly and in an organized fashion. I'm very satisfied with their work. They told me that if the DG started to crack, that they would come back to patch it up for free. Its been a couple weeks, and the DG still looks flawless. The experience with these guys was great and I will be recommending them to my close friends. read more

I hired Cesar and his guys to trim my pine tree about a week ago. The pine looked very heavy and its right next to my house, so i decided that it was time to cut off some heavy branches. It was a show all by itself just watching their trimmer climb that tree with no problem. They were done and all cleaned up way faster than I expected. They also gave me an estimate for maintenance after my last gardener decided to quit without even a notice a month ago. After talking to 5 tree service/landscaping companies, we decided to go with Amazon Tree Service. Cesar and his crew just finished the job at my house - back and front yards, brand new irrigation system, landscape and planting. Cesar is very methodical and detailed oriented. He listens really well of what we want and then executes the plan accordingly. He explained everything in details and always kept us informed. My front yard was in a pretty bad condition, bumpy yard with lots of weeds n old roots; the team completely cleaned and leveled up (prep work is very important for beautiful landscape to come!). There were a couple hiccups as it's expected in any big project, but Cesar was able to quickly fix and resolve it without bothering us (but did keep us informed). I used these guys for the first time. And like any service you use for the first time ever, you have a doubt about the outcome. Well, once these guys where done pruning my 25-30 foot walnut tree, I have to say they not only did a great job cleaning up and making sure everything was in order on the ground after, they undercut the cost of two other guys I previously used. I have never used yelp before. My experience with Amazon Tree Service was very satisfying and I feel compelled to create an account and share my experience. I have a big front yard with a lot of grass area, trees and palm trees. Since we moved into our home, I have hired a few gardeners to work on my lawn. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Then I heard about Amazon Tree service, and I decide to give them a try. When I called, a very nice gentleman answered. I didn't get a response for a week+ and then he finally emailed my back and said someone was going to call me the next. They never did. I called Amazon Tree Service for a quick quote regarding the planting of some trees in my yard. First, I needed to remove a dead sycamore which apparently is protected in my area. The city told me that I would have to replace the dead tree by planting 8 other protected *24 gallon* trees of my choice. Caesar and his father came over and gave me a quote for the removal of the sycamore and an estimate for planting the trees. They gave me a good quote on the tree removal (cheaper than the two other companies that gave me a quote) but the tree planting was a tad high. I still decided to go with Amazon for the tree planting after how professionally they removed the sycamore & stump grinding. They treated me very well and we were always in constant communication. Amazon did a great job but I'm just a little upset that the city forced me to spend money on planting trees that I didn't want. read more

This is a father/son business. They were absolutely clean, detail oriented, and took their time to do a great job from start to finish. Can't praise them enough! I had them reduce 5 of my cypress trees. The cypresses were about 40 feet high I think and they just towered over my 1 story house. I gave them permission to use my roof to top off the trees. The trees were accessible from my roof and they used ladders to pull down the cypress cuts. During high winds, the trees would bend a lot and shoot debris at my property. I was worried that they would break in half someday because they were simply too tall. The guys topped off the trees to a height which seemed much safer. Ceasar and his dad had warned me that the trees will start growing a lot more from the sides now after topping them off. I will have them trim the sides of the trees once the time comes because a bulky Italian cypress wouldn't look right! Thankfully they managed to get it all done without damaging anything at all and their proof of insurance really gave me the peace of mind. As we walked around the property, Cesar seemed super knowledgeable about the different trees we have (after 14 years of living here, we had no idea!). Thank you Amazon Tree Service for the awesome work. They planted ligustrum hedge for me on the left side of my from yard in order to get some privacy from the neighbors. The trees were about 6 feet tall and you can see the quality of the ligustrums from the get-go. They also installed a drip system to irrigate the trees and installed a bender board that divided my lawn from the hedge. Finally they added some bark around the trees to preserve the water moisture. Overall, I was very happy with their work, friendliness, and customer service. Definitely give this company a call. read more

We just moved here from Illinois and were referred to Amazon by a local company who were too busy to work with us. Cesar was gracious enough to come a long distance to give us an estimate. He took a lot of time teaching us our sprinkler and drip systems and did a major overhaul of our property which was overgrown and out of control with weeds and wasting a lot of water (and wrecking our foundation). Altho they are tree specialists, they removed bushes, over-hauled and repaired our sprinkler and drip systems over the course of several days. This week, they layed down areas of gravel and mulch, re-seeded our small grassy area and we now have a dramatically improved front yard. We all decided it was a "night to day" transformation.
