William recently repaired our CMU masonry retaining wall, including replacing damaged blocks and repairing and regrouting the mortar joints. He completed our entire back wall plus the side walls on both sides of our property in just two days, and the finished work was exactly what we wanted. He arrived on time, worked steadily throughout the day, and cleaned everything up when he was finished. Beyond the quality of his work, William was personable, professional and, in my experience, very honest--which I truly appreciated. Our wall looks great, the job was completed quickly, and our expectations were definitely met. We decided to clean up the area so we could host an important family event, and our search led to Gio and his team. He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. Guadalupe and his crew were very prompt with answering my call for help. I've learned with time that most contractors are terrible communicators; Guadalupe and Casa Verde proved to be an exception to the rule rather than the norm. He updated me each day on the progress of the project and showed up on time each day. He and his crew cleaned up every day as well. As the project sort of evolved , he was very very very accommodating towards my limited budget. He worked with what I was able to spend and even went above and beyond by planting new plants in our planters and setting up automatic watering for us. They also added stepping stones to the lawn and made everything mesh and look really good together. He also redid the drains from the planter (a previous contractor didn't do a good job with that so Guadalupe went ahead and fixed it on his own volition.) it felt like he ultimately prioritized getting a good job done over making as much money as possible. You can tell that he cares and takes pride in his work. My neighbors noticed that he and his crew were very diligent with their work too. Overall, I had such a great experience working with Casa Verde. Everything looks great!

The issue is not with the actual work, but rather the business model and lack of communication. We have since moved on to another gardening service. Luis wants guaranteed business by charging a monthly fee to show up 2x/month year round. However, for simple lawn/hedge trimming and leaf clean-up, the amount he charges does not make sense. We struck a deal with him for ad hoc service, because nothing grows in the dry months of summer. However, we had a "no-call, no-show" during the rainy season when he had told us multiple weeks in a row that he would come by. When he finally showed up weeks later, he decided to charge us TWICE for overgrowth. Had he shown up the first time he said he would, that would not have happened. It seems he decided our business was no longer worth his time, so he decided to extract the most cash he could from us before we moved on. Needless to say, I cannot recommend Lona's to anyone after this experience.

We went through the stuff to trash and to keep. Fortunately for me he had some time the same week. He is very responsive when texting. On the day of the service, he gave me a heads up that he was running a little late, and adjusted the start time which he did keep. Please don't hold that against him! As a person, he is very polite, attentive to any concerns you may have, and overall seems like a very kind hearted individual. He was working with his Father, and had a couple of gentlemen to stop by to help pick up some of the heavier items. They quoted us $450 for the repair, which entailed cutting off our sprinkler where it was rusted galvanized steel and replacing it with PVC pipe. This in turn ended up re routing our system, rending a large chunk of our sprinkler system useless, due to the steel not being able to be connected to the original system unless we wanted to pay for more repairs. We were quoted around the same (around $500) to connect our sprinkler system again so it would work, on top of the original repair, in which we did not move forward. At first, I was fine with a quote of $450 assuming it was going to be a complicated repair with fancy parts but when I saw the work that was done, it changed my mind. Total labor time was maybe 30 minutes and it was simply digging up where the sprinkler was broken and rerouting the pipe with about $15 worth of PVC and that was it. The gentlemen who came out were kind and helpful so I don't like to leave bad reviews however I feel like we were totally ripped off and charged way more than appropriate to the point where I feel extremely silly I didn't call around to other places and feel like we got played. And now we have a system that does not work. I would highly suggest you call around before going with these guys.

I contacted them for an estimate to convert my existing front yard sprinklers to irrigation. Before scheduling, they asked whether I was looking for the cheapest price and told me they were not it. They offered to "squeeze" me in the following morning at 8am but because of my work schedule I couldn't be there until later. When I said I'd wait to see if another estimate worked out and would reach back if not, they responded that I should use one of my other estimates because they were too busy. My other contractor ultimately fell through, so I reached back out hoping to finally schedule an estimate. Unfortunately I never received a response. I completely understand that good contractors are busy and I wasn't looking for special treatment. I was simply disappointed by how the situation was handled, especially after being a repeat customer who has referred them repeatedly. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend J&P with the same confidence.

On the first day of prep work, the crew cleared the soil but left a large pile of sand blocking my driveway before leaving and asking for a $500 deposit. The next morning, they returned with a larger crew and mixed the concrete right in front of my house. Unfortunately, concrete splashed around, leaving a significant mess in my front yard that was not cleaned up after the job was finished. Additionally, the leveling is uneven in several areas. Instead of sloping toward the drain, water pools and sits on the surface. While I appreciate their work ethic and friendly attitude, concrete does not seem to be their specialty. I would give them a 2.5-star rating for this project.

I waited a month after Gilberto finished fixing my irrigation because I wanted to show the green…read moregrass that had been hiding from lack of water from my sprinklers for nearly a year. Long story, we had a bad irrigation person install our sprinklers in 2018. He totally overloaded the valves and also used cheap sprinklers so while they worked initially, apparently when the city reduced the pressure to homes, the sprinklers dropped in pressure significantly which then resulted in lack of coverage. So in 2021, I hired a highly rated irrigation specialist who charged me over $2,500 to supposedly fix my sprinklers which again kinda worked but after 6 months which was within the warranty, he was nowhere to be found so I had coverage issues again. but because of COVID , I took to hand watering the gaps as an activity and was able to keep things going. Fast forward to 2025 and not only was the coverage bad but the city must have reduced the pressure again so now none of the front sprinklers for the lawn could even pop up so I had to hand water the entire front lawn 2-3 times a week. This was getting to be too much but I struggled to call another irrigation company because I was worried I would be bamboozled again and we can't afford that but I just couldn't hand water forever and we even thought of going drought resistant which we are not a fan off so I did a ton of research to try to find another company that I could trust. I reached out to 3 companies and Gilberto (Gilbert) was the only one who identified the issue that my entire system was on sprinklers that were not pressure regulated which is now the current standard in California. Plus the others proposed significantly more invasive and cost prohibitive solutions. I don't know the technology but essentially the pressure regulated sprinklers helps add pressure so when the water pressure is not strong, it gives it a boost. This helps conserve water and I was floored by Gilbert offering to come and install a few to test it out for effectiveness and he even gave me a guarantee that if it didn't work, I didn't have to pay. Can you believe that? Well he came as he said he would, installed a few and the difference was amazing! So then we decided to fixed all the sprinklers in this same manner and one day , he texted me to say he had been thinking about our project and he wanted to share that there was a chance the fix may not work because we had 40 sprinkler heads on one valve. ( the max should be 8-12). Well we then discussed options and because of how genuine and knowledgeable Gilbert was, I put my trust in him and he implemented his plan. And voila! It now works and he even fertilized my grass afterwards to help it along and the photos say it all and as much as I love my garden, I am happy to have 3 hours a week back that Im not hand watering. Plus, he heard me complaining about how one sprinkler head was blocked by a plant and next thing I noticed, he added a riser. That wasn't even in our scope of work. And Gilbert has followed up 2 times in the last month to just see how things are going. I feel valued and he clearly takes pride in his work and cares about his customers and wants to have long term relationships. It's hard to find honorable and capable people these days but I finally found my irrigation prince after the frog.

We went ahead and scheduled a time to complete the job and he communicated when he would be there on the day of the job. He made sure all my sprinklers were replaced or repaired and were working properly. They cleaned up after the work was done and were professional and friendly. We paid via Zelle but he accepts checks too. I would use them again and recommend.
