The seating area is comfy and has views of the winery and where they make the wine. Totally cool out door seating that was full but not so close that you feel tight. The wine was nice and my cousin gets to pick as she knows more about me in regards to wine and I trust her choices. She is like my sister so I trust her. We both liked what we got and what we got to taste. Overall we both Liked Rubino and we would go again. Highly recommend visit if you like a nice intimate place, beautiful sights and awesome wine.

We reserved an indoor spot, which was indicated to have no time limit. We were having a wonderful time relaxing, enjoying a wine bundle special we purchased, and sharing a charcuterie board. However, our experience was ruined when a host approached our table and asked if we were close to leaving because there was a long waitlist. Several other tables had arrived before us, yet none of them were approached. This treatment felt unfair and left a very bad taste in my mouth. After many years of enjoying my membership, this experience has made me seriously consider canceling it. Please be better.

An absolute dream for all of you winos out there. I came across this event on the Alameda County Fair website. I had planned to attend the fair, but couldn't figure out which date that I wanted to go. But once I saw this event, I knew that I just had to go and check it out because it just sounded too good to be true! I paid $45 for the event which included admission into the fair. Parking was not included, and I prepaid for parking online which costed $10. This event was actually held on the field right in the middle of the horse races! I was given a wrist band that included in and out privileges, but I ended up staying there the whole time since I got there about an hour and a half after it started. The event was held between 2 and 5 pm, but I rolled in "fashionably late" (ahem!) at 3:30pm. I actually feel like this was a great time to go because the lines weren't excessively long, and I might have passed out from all of the wine if I would have kept drinking. There were over 40 different wineries pouring their most popular and award winning wines! There were many local wineries as well as a few that I had recently visited while wine tasting in Mendocino county! Way too many to name, but there was so much variety! The pourers were mostly volunteers, so many of them didn't know too much about the wineries and the background of the wines. However, this event wasn't meant to be intimate as there were so many different wineries that were showcasing their wines. There were many shaded tables and chairs around where people could sit. They also had a big wager tent where people could sip while betting on the horse races! I did not participate in the betting this time around, but I would like to do it next year for sure. I must have tried over 50 different wines that day! A word of advice to anyone who is thinking about coming out: drink lots of water and pace yourself! I believe that they had a water stand available in the wagering tent, but I just brought my own. Unfortunately, I didn't follow my own advice and didn't pace myself. I'll let you figure out how the night ended... In any event, the Sip, Savor, & Wager was really fun! I met lots of people, mingled around, and tried many different wines that I had never tried before. There were also a few food trucks around for those who didn't get a chance to eat. This was the first time that this event was held in conjunction with the Alameda County Fair and I think it was an excellent turn out! Being able to get a closeup view of the horse races was icing on the cake. I definitely plan to attend the event next year if they decide to have it again!

I purchased a table for my family and friends to attend the Sip & Swirl Events in Livermore. We were excited to attend. We were told we would be in a VIP section and receive wristbands. This experience was supposed to include a table covering, ice bucket, charcuterie board, and a small centerpiece. We were also supposed to get pours from Staff Walking Through The Event. We were also told that VIP guests Did NOT need to check in with general admission. They stated that my guests and I would go straight to the VIP area, which would be near the event center. Our table would have my name on it, as well as eight pink wristbands. Since there were so many issues, I will list the points. The event started at 4 pm, and at 1:37 pm, I received an email stating that the event truck was broken into and all items for the event were stolen. She requested that we bring chairs, blankets, food, and wine glasses. When we arrived at the event, no one was there to greet or direct us. There was no check-in table, and I had to ask other event attendees who was running the event. After 10 minutes of searching for the host, I showed her my ticket and asked where my table was. She looked confused, walked away, and never returned. I then began to walk around the event to see if I could locate the table. I finally found my table with my name on a pink Party City wine bag, but they were still setting up my table. Which appeared to be an afterthought as we were separate from all the other tables. I then had to chase the host down again to get the wristbands for my guest. I asked about the charcuterie because, in the email, she said she had the items, just no boards. She responded she had the things but no boards, as they were stolen. However, she was trying to figure out a plan. Mind you, we never got any salami! There was no wine to sip or swirl as no one was working the event. They had two bars located clear across from our table. The lines were super long, and we were expected to stand in line for one pour. I made the best of the situation, so I went inside Wente and purchased wine for the table and two charcuterie boards. Only to be approached by someone who identified themselves as a helper of the host, stating that I could not bring outside wine into the event. Well, one, it's not outside wine; I purchased it at Wente Vineyards, and two, what do you expect us to do, sit at the table and wait for the non-existent workers to pour the non-existent wine? The DJ could not turn up the music until 6 p.m. due to other patrons at the winery who were not a part of our event, our table was clear across the other side. We were unable to hear the music. One of the event attendees had a medical emergency, and there was no event staff to be found. EMS was called, and the Wente staff had to come and assist her, and they were very helpful. Also, I'm still unclear; the host says her truck was broken into while she had lunch. So the event started at 4 pm. At noon, shouldn't you be at the event setting up and not getting lunch? I don't know. Maybe I'm a skeptic, but it sounds wild to me. Lastly, even if all your items were stolen, that doesn't account for you not having anyone working the event. Were the event staff stolen out of the truck as well? She also could have publicly addressed the attendees and said something to us to help us understand the flow of the event. It just appeared like we gathered together and all wore pink, but no one was there to organize. I'll say this: Our community always knows how to pivot and have a good time despite everything. I saw folks having pizzas delivered and buying wine. I know the Wente staff appreciated our purchases. The whole team at Wente was terrific, and they were very helpful! This is in no way a reflection of their service and their beautiful property. I plan to go to Wente again as the wine was excellent, and their staff were amazing!

Because we were told not to bring certain items, we didn't. So we had to resort to using a plastic table covering as our "blanket" and borrow wine glasses from Wente. In addition, the wine "ran out" before we could use our "wine pass", so that resulted in us spending an extra $100 on Wente wine. No one even checked us in or provided an update to what was going on, so we really could have gone for free, but certainly not for damn near $100 per person. I'm sorry to hear about your van being broken into and the items stolen. Hopefully you can understand where I (& several other attendees who I've seen be vocal on social media about Sunday) are coming from w/ asking for a refund, especially since not much was or has been done to make up for it." Last weekend, one of my buddies brought along a bottle of their Pinot Grigio to a get together in Rhode Island, and a few sips from my glass reminded how much I liked their wine. Their Pinot Grigio is made out of grapes from the Italian Alps. Their website describes the taste as "a uniquely flavorful wine (with) refreshing fruit flavors of fresh pear, cantaloupe, apple and pineapple...with notes of honey and lemon zest". My palate can never taste any of those things when I drink wine, but I will look you straight in the eye and tell you their Pino was refreshing and super delicious (even if I whiffed on the cantaloupe and pear).

Long story short, he said that he won't go over again, all the terms and conditions are on the quote, and would not give me the time of day, and made me feel like an idiot. The room was cozy and intimate, Chris poured each wine, giving us a unique opportunity to taste the love, patience, and incredible attention to detail that went into each bottle. I had previously given up on red wines because they often cause me pain the next day, but I was pleasantly surprised by a 2013 Syrah and a Pinot Noir, a grape I usually avoid. The Chardonnay was unoaked, but still very respectable and I could taste the pure chard grape flavor as if the grape was looking at me from the bottle saying "THIS is what I'm SUPPOSED to taste like honey, not the malolactic oak! If I were still an avid wine enthusiast, I would have joined their wine club. It's great that he had wine priced by the glass on his menu for those interested in focusing on one type of wine or simply wanting to relax with a glass without feeling pressured to taste a planned flight at only 1-ounce intervals. Best believe if I find myself in Livermore during operating hours, I shall return to fill up on Chardonnay and buy more Syrah to stock my cellar (aka closet under the stairs) ;)
