We stayed in the Station House, a beautifully decorated, private, and peaceful cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The food was exceptional from start to finish. Our first evening, we enjoyed a private dinner outdoors by the fire pit, listening to the soothing sounds of the babbling brook. The second night featured an unforgettable seven-course candlelit dinner in the main house. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Each morning, a generous breakfast was delivered to our cottage. You definitely won't leave hungry, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better dining experience anywhere else. Throughout our stay, our host, Michael, was energetic, kind, and welcoming. As both host and chef, he made every part of our visit feel personal and special. We're so thankful for the time and care he puts into creating such a memorable experience.

But the real delights were the breakfasts and Saturday evening dinner. The food was spectacular and very much farm to table with culinary delights that had us talking about them for days--how did he do that breakfast or soup with such attention to flavor and texture? The setting is quiet with great natural landscaping and the hosts warm friendly and humorous. Highly recommend. We will be back in the fall.

He made amazingly good coffee every morning and brought in breakfast Bakery items daily. The bar selection was quite large for such a small place. The Wi-Fi worked well. Our room was extremely comfortable and well appointed. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Mineral Point

The room is small but adequate for two people. It is nicely decorated and had a small reading nook. There is a small private balcony. The muffins provided for breakfast were yummy! We only had a couple of issues. The first was that the bathroom sink is located inside the room. I'm sure this was necessary due to the limitations of restoring a building this age. Our main complaint was the loud music that was played in the afternoon. I am not sure if this is a regular thing or just rude guests, but it was loud enough we could not rest after our long drive. If this was just rude guests, I can put it down to "people are people." If this was, however, a regular afternoon thing for the Inn, I would suggest the music be turned down or that guests booking Room 1810 be forewarned. All that being said - we think the Inn is a great asset to Mineral Point.

My room was near the exit and all I heard was the slamming of the door all night. Also many people sitting by the entrance smoking and being a bit loud. I was not well rested. The breakfast was waffles, oatmeal or a frozen sandwich. The rest of the hotel was clean. If you stay, do not get a room near any exits. Also, there were no elevators.

I thought the bed and pillows were pretty comfortable but my wife didn't agree. The breakfast was very good and had a good selection. Now for the bad, the heating system was super loud and woke me up every time it kicked in. I know earlier I said that the place was clean, and I stand by that, but we did see one thing that was pretty gross. Our room window was right above the awning for the front entry and when we were getting ready to leave I noticed there was a badly decomposing either huge mouse or small rat right outside our window. I am not one of those people that fools themselves and thinks that most hotels don't have rodents, but when I told the guy at the front desk I didn't get an apology or anything. All he said was, "Ewwww, thanks for letting me know." Seriously?? All that being said is we will probably be back, but only due to lack of options.
