We stayed in the Station House, a beautifully decorated, private, and peaceful cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The food was exceptional from start to finish. Our first evening, we enjoyed a private dinner outdoors by the fire pit, listening to the soothing sounds of the babbling brook. The second night featured an unforgettable seven-course candlelit dinner in the main house. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Each morning, a generous breakfast was delivered to our cottage. You definitely won't leave hungry, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better dining experience anywhere else. The room is small but adequate for two people. It is nicely decorated and had a small reading nook. There is a small private balcony. The muffins provided for breakfast were yummy! We only had a couple of issues. The first was that the bathroom sink is located inside the room. I'm sure this was necessary due to the limitations of restoring a building this age. Our main complaint was the loud music that was played in the afternoon. I am not sure if this is a regular thing or just rude guests, but it was loud enough we could not rest after our long drive. If this was just rude guests, I can put it down to "people are people." If this was, however, a regular afternoon thing for the Inn, I would suggest the music be turned down or that guests booking Room 1810 be forewarned. All that being said - we think the Inn is a great asset to Mineral Point.

Our room window was right above the awning for the front entry and when we were getting ready to leave I noticed there was a badly decomposing either huge mouse or small rat right outside our window. I am not one of those people that fools themselves and thinks that most hotels don't have rodents, but when I told the guy at the front desk I didn't get an apology or anything. All he said was, "Ewwww, thanks for letting me know." Seriously?? All that being said is we will probably be back, but only due to lack of options.
