Came on a Thursday evening around 7pm and had a great experience. Outside does look a bit like a ghost town but once you go inside, its very lively. Huge theatre and very spacious. No line to check in and No line to get concession snacks. The popcorn tasted fresh and delicious. They have a MacGuffins bar. They were unfortunately out of Prosecco but no biggie, ended up getting some Rose. They had seltzers, beers and liquor. Plenty of reserved seats and all though the chairs dont recline all the way down, they were still very comfortable. Wouldn't mind coming to this location if need be. read more

There is a magical allure going to the movies... a sense of whimsy and excitement I look forward to every time I plan a visit! Sadly, this particular AMC location has lost that enchantment. The overall cleanliness was disappointing, with the women's restroom being especially troubling. It was not only unsanitary but also appeared to be in a state of disrepair. Had a great experience!! There is a big parking lot, the lobby is spacious and the concession stand is big and well staffed. You can buy tickets ahead of time online or the app (what we did) or at the counter but you choose your seat ahead of time. They had all concessions available for purchase with self serve drinks. It was the awesome Coke machine with so many options and they also have slushies. The popcorn was tasty! The theaters were spacious and the chairs reclined. They were very comfortable. I want to share my experience at the AMC Pavilion in Charlotte to warn others and call out the lack of safety measures. On 6-8-25, my car was broken into while I was watching a movie at this theater. Two backpacks and two pairs of shoes were stolen. When I reported the incident to the manager around 7:20 PM, I was shocked by what I was told: The manager admitted that they had informed the landlord numerous times over the past year about ongoing car break-ins and that nothing has been done -- no cameras, no security, no added protection whatsoever. To make matters worse, I was told there are no security cameras in the parking lot and that there was nothing they could do to help. This is unacceptable. AMC is responsible for providing a safe environment for its patrons. It's clear from my conversation with the manager that this is not an isolated incident and that this issue has been repeatedly ignored by the property owner or management. If you visit this theater, do not leave anything in your car -- and frankly, consider going to a different location that takes customer safety more seriously. read more

Waited 20 minutes for 2 drinks. There were 2 people ahead of me. The bartender poured 1/2 a beer, stopped, and went and made 2 other drinks before she finished pouring my drink. Why would you stop 1/2 way? Made our way to the theater and it smelled like a wet basement. Won't be back. read more

Such a bad experience. We bought tickets online and when we arrived after scanning our tickets they told us a different theater number than what was on the ticket. Ok, no problem we went to the one they said to go to. When entering the theater the row we were assigned didn't exist so I said to my husband, "I think the guy who scanned our tickets told us the wrong theater because our row isn't here" and some lady heard me and said, "no, they had to move this screening to a different theater and you have to go out there for them to give you new seats". Weird but ok. We went back out to the front and was about to ask about our issue when we heard another women out there telling them the same thing. I told them that we were there for the same issue, that we needed new seats since our row didn't exist in the new theater. The employees argued with me and the other woman saying that the seats should be the same, that the only thing that changed was the theater number. That would make sense but that wasn't the case. We kept going back and forth and finally she said ok let me find you new seats. Then she said that it was sold out and no seats were available. We told her that it doesn't make sense since we already paid and have seats. She insisted that there were no seats left. She eventually asked if we wanted to have our tickets transferred to a different showing. We didn't want to come back hours later but we had to ask for a refund instead of one being offered. We asked to see a manager and she said she was the manager. She gave us the refund. Once I got home I realized that the refund was only for the cost of the tickets and not the service fees. So they still owe me money. I paid service fees and gas for nothing. Terrible service and management. Stay away. read more

This has been one of my go-to theaters since I moved to Charlotte in 2015. I've always enjoyed the reclining seats. Staff is always friendly and the movie theaters are always clean. I enjoy picking seat and paying online before the movie so that I don't have to rush and have the potential of being in the front row. I didn't get snacks this time because it was so early but the popcorn smelled so good. I like that this location has so many movie/time showings to pick from. read more

Every time I go to this theater, there are are bugs flying around. It feels uncomfortable, watching a movie and seeing an insect flying. Many times the theaters are not cleaned well. On a positive note there are 22 theaters so you can generally always find the movie you're looking for. read more

Aside from the theater providing tbe typical theater amenities, you come here expecting that you get a little more for your buck. They have the reclining chairs that are nice, but the arms of the chairs are peeling? I'm not talking about a little bit either, I'm saying that there is enough peeling that someone should come upholster them. This should be a routine check anyway since it isn't all the chairs...shouldn't be that expensive, if anything, that should be a part of their annual expenses towards the theater. As for the food area, I never have a good experience.... you may as well just not EVER consider the full menu being available here. We came down for the movies to see the little mermaid, and they told us that the only thing they had available is popcorn and nachos.... whet? This should be communicated on a sign before anyone jumps in your 10-minute long line so I could have saved the effort smdh. Better yet, if this is b/c of Memorial Day weekend, it should be on the website or SOMETHING... anyways.... that's about it. Just come with low expectations with just the reclining seats as the extra luxury you are paying for. The onky thing nice about this experience was the greeter. She was so kind. She was an older woman that was all smiles and kindness.... then as soon as we got past her we dealt with the younger crew that was short with you and had cut everything from the menu.... even though they have the ENTIRE menu on display. Went on a Saturday afternoon to a one o'clock showing of the new Marvel movie. The theater seats are assigned & we didn't get our tickets in advance so when it was time to choose our seats, there was only the front row left. Sitting in the front row wasn't too bad as the seats reclined to an almost fully lying down position and were extremely comfortable. The price wasn't too bad for tickets, we paid $20 for two tickets and around $6 for popcorn. The only thing I would be wary of is the lack of social distancing. They seat the theater to full capacity so you're seated right next to someone on either side of you. Most of the movie goers chose to remove their mask during showtime as well, there isn't staff or anyone enforcing the mask guidelines. I'll be honest and say that it made me quite uncomfortable, especially when a few patrons let out a few head turning coughs during the movie. Overall you get your monies worth for your experience! I personally will not return until I'm a little more comfortable being around strangers without a mask, but the experience wasn't a terrible one. read more

This is NOT a safe place to go Don't let your kids go there and don't go there yourselves! To top it off it took police almost an hour to even come! Went to see One Life at this location. Great movie. I recommend it. $10 for a small bag of popcorn is a bit much. The seats are worn and ratty. One Life is a quiet, reserved movie about evacuating children during World War II. Unfortunately we heard all the loud sound effects from Dune playing in the adjacent theater. Really annoying. Spend your theater dollars somewhere else. read more

This was such a Horrible Experience...Movies is not cheap and to enter the Theatre and get to the food counter and its popcorn all over the floor just messy and to get to the actual theatre and see rip up chairs and siding off the wall was appauling site to see. I talk with the manager but he didnt seem like he really cared he offer to switch my seats but it was pretty sold out and then offer money back but i drove far to see Bad Boys because the movie Theatre i usually go too was sold out he offer 2 free tickets for another time. It's an older AMC with split seats that need to be replaced. Don't ask for courtesy cups for extra butter or salt - they say they give them out anymore nor can you purchase - huh???? Sound is louder than normal as the speakers work well! Bought tickets and food from the ap and they still wanted you to wait in line for the one guy who was overworked. This facility is in decline and are cutting corners! The food I ordered was ready and waiting which was a positive! The sound system and my to go order kept it from a 1-rating. read more

I am so mad right now. I check in at the theatre to watch Deadpool with my family and I am met by this lazy young lady at the ticket counter. She sat at the ticket counter with her feet up. I asked for available seats for some movies and she quickly grew an attitude. I guess I really annoyed her because I was trying to use my movie pass. I had to wait at the front for 20 minutes and she did not tell me what was going on. I was wondering where the communication was. If my family were not already in the concession line, I would have left. I guess the frustration overtook her because she passed me to another employee who checked me in and got my tickets in two minutes. When I walked in, I saw the concession area was hazy as if it were smoke filled. This was not a good sign, especially where fresh popcorn is supposed to be. After going in the auditorium, I had to settle down so that I could enjoy the experience. The seat was comfortable and the movie was great. read more

Honestly, I really want to love this place considering I always have more luck finding 3-4 tickets/seats together (in the back) to movies at the last minute (because I like to procrastinate ) ((vs the Regal closer to home)). But so far I'm giving it 3 stars with easy possibilities to move up based on my next experience because: 1. The theaters a whole large, updated, nice, easily accessible Anne close to shopping... but 2. Last time I was there happpened to be really busy at the concession stand (totally get it), but seemingly no one assigned to (or able to assist with the) drink area and it was getting pretty gross... not to mention all but 1 of the awesome coke machines were out I if ice and acting up technically, and it wasn't really feasibly to let anyone know after I tried. 3. My seat was ripped when I sat down and the leather/material is stiff and rough on a torn edge and it 100% got caught in my hair and kept ripping apart and catching me throughout the movie. Sooooo if it's more tidy next time I visit, employees are equipped and supported in a way to help at the self serve part of the concession area, and I see my seat malfunction was a very weird one time thing, I'd give this AMC a solid 4/4+... if not, I'd say the 3 is fair for "normal business issues" but but not "omg I cant wait to go back!!" read more

I hate writing low star reviews. However, movie going has become an expensive night out, especially for families. After laying out nearly $100 for tix and concessions for 4 adults and 1 child, I gotta speak up. One: the place was filthy especially the concession area by the self-serve soda area. Unacceptable. Two: they overbooked online tix and multiple parties were left wandering from one studio to the next hoping to find a seat unoccupied that they also paid good money for. The movie "Downton Abby" was playing in 3 theatres--thank God we arrived early or we would've been SOL. Three: in the theatre next to ours they simultaneously ran, "Rambo: Last Blood." The booming noise and cheap sound effects made the quiet speaking Brits nearly imperceptible. It was like living in an apartment with a frat party going on for all hours. On a positive note, the recliners were nice and the movie stayed in focus. Next time I'll wait for it to play on Netflex. Ouch. read more

This is really a 2.5 and it gets that because of the reclining seats. I have never ever eva sat in the 1st row of any movie theater my entire life but this works as you can lean the seat all the way back. HOWEVER, this place is upkept and dirty. They did come and clean the seats when asked and without complaint. Popcorn everywhere. They have an aversion to vacuuming, I don't know why. Someone posted a picture saying the restrooms were covered in X, Y, or both. We just attended A YEAR after that picture and it was in the same state. The kid said, I think it's both.... I died laughing. Nope, I didn't use the facilities but beware. I'll return for BLANK PANTHER and THOR (only in midday because it's ran it's time here, I guess) but I want to see it in this environment for sure. NOT ALL AMC's have updated their seats as some friends have wrongly stated... but it's nice to enjoy. read more

WOW. Things were REALLY off tonight. Bathrooms were nasty...and not one, but 2 bathroom sinks had emptied soap dispensers. Then once again, poor AC!! Not sure what's going on tonight...but had this problem at a restaurant prior to as well. For one reason or another, simply not enough air conditioning on a hot, muggy night like this! Are Charlotte businesses in trouble financially? I'm beginning to wonder! AC was so bad here, it nearly ruined our movie experience. Lastly, the movie showtime was 8 pm...but they played so many commercials and previews, the movie didn't start until close to 8:30 pm. Just RIDICULOUS!! We left the theater much later than planned and hoped. We could have tolerated up to 10 minutes overtime, but anything more than this is simply unacceptable! For all these reasons, can't give more than 1 Star rating! read more

The most poorly run theatre I have ever visited. Electronic ticket boxes are offline. Only one person for "non-premier" members selling tickets. Had to switch movies because the movie we planned on seeing has already started sincwe have been in lone for a half hour. Not sure how this place stays in business. Update: 01/18/2020 No improvement. Staff is rude and generally indifferent to your movie experience. Went there this past weekend and had a HORRIBLE experience. Slushee machine was out. Was not aware until AFTER I purchased the cup. And just my luck- the drink machine was ALSO out.
