I forgot to snap pics, but this is just your standard theater, no comfy reclining chairs or assigned seating. With that being said, it still does the job and has affordable prices. I paid $9 for my ticket on a Saturday evening and $9 for popcorn and a fountain drink - fair. Right after the previews the screen paused and we had to call the attendant to start it again, but it was smooth sailing after that. This is the best little theatre and worth the drive. The biggest difference in amc and regal is you need to show up early as they do not offer reserved seating. That is fine to us as everything else is worth it. Friendly and helpful staff. Refills on popcorn and drinks. They have all of the white cheddar, caramel, etc popcorn flavors in individual packets so you can still enjoy them if you ask. Consessions include candy, nachos, pretzels, hotdogs, etc. Bathrooms are always clean. Two big on side and one small behind inside theatre entry. Screen and sound incredible!. Removable arms to seats if needed. I saved the most important detail for last - affordable ticket prices! (Reward program in points if you buy a card for trancations. This is a much older movie theater. My guess, the seats are 1990's origin, not much recline and some were faulty, not secure from the flooring. The screen quality and sound were decent. Bathrooms are older, clean, and maintained. The front counter payment area is old school, and the refreshment area is archaic compared to other modernized luxury theaters where you can use your phone to order food or food quality would be from a restaurant on premises. I have a family of five and this is where we go to watch a movie. It is an older theater, but I don't mind it. The drinks and popcorn are great for a good value. Movie tickets are very affordable too! It may not have all the new stuff like the other theaters, but the value is great! My first trip to the movies since the COVID-19 outbreak and I felt safe and welcomed. Parking was fine, they offered a combo with free refills and cool video games and movie trivia to pass the time until the film began. The theater wasn't crowded and it was tidy (looking), but there was a rank and overpowering scent of urine throughout the entire place. It is for this reason this place only earned three stars. I am not sure if a pipe busted, a drain was broken or a disgruntled employee defouled the place, but it smelled like a subway bathroom... So much that I left my mask on to cut the stench. read more

Always been pleased with Carolina Mall Theaters. And since they did the upgrade several years ago, things are even better! It is not a huge facility, but has plenty of small theaters within. You walk in and see a decent sized game room to the right. Several machines to play and enough space that you aren't squished together on each other. Get your ticket and go through the nice wide lobby to the Concession stand. Several counters, so the wait isn't usually too long. Prices are a little bit better than the bigger places, so another bonus point. The theaters are smaller, but not tiny feeling. Seats are comfortable even for longer movies. Plenty of seats to feel like you are sitting "high up" but not a mile away from the screen. The bathrooms have been the biggest improvement when they remodeled. Ladies room now has at least 6 stalls, though still really tiny. All in all, still a great value! read more

The Good: Cheapest Prices Ever The Bad: The old projectors make the film really dim. No surround sound. Not the cleanest place. The Ugly: The staff really make this place the worst. Mistakes like No sound, house lights on in the auditorium, and poor clean up between showings. Security is only there at night, the concession staff are unfocused, the ushers assist zero customers, and the ticket sellers constantly sell tickets WELL after a film begins which leads to disturbances. So on 7-19-2019 the family and I along with one of my daughters nurses went to see the Lion King at Carolina Mall Cinemas. Because I have a deaf child, I called ahead and asked if the CC box was available (and compatible) for said movie. I was told it was and we purchased tickets online right then and there. We head in, get our tickets, and ask for the cc box. The manager comes around apologizes and informs us the cc box is not compatible with the movie and simply walks away. With the movie starting in just a few minutes we decided to head in and I made up my mind to speak with this manager one on one once the movie was over. (Keep in mind there are 6 of us attending this movie) My poor child sat in pure boredom the entire movie. It's not like this was a movie where she could read the characters lips or that the volume was even loud enough so she could feel base changes. It was a total disaster for her. But she never complained and didn't get upset. And to add insult to injury a fight breaks out behind us where police have to be call. ‍ The movie ends and we ask to speak to the manager. I request the number to their regional office and she informs me she cannot give out their numbers as there is NO OFFICE. Only their person cell phones. However she writes down an email and says I MIGHT have luck with that. Its the owners email. I ask her the name to whom this email belonged and all she would say is SMITH. Then proceeds to say, " I cant give out his first name as its personal information he may not want me to share." Really?? This Mr Smith owns the theater and has NO contact information available to the public what so ever!!!! I asked her why they have signage, advertising and posters everywhere claiming to be a Closed Caption theatre. She said none of the movies playing were CC capable. And my daughters nurse and I said in unison, "But you advertise everywhere that the movies are CC." I explained that was false advertising and the ADA ( Americans with Disabilities Act) would not find it acceptable to make such claims. She shrugged her shoulders and said she was not allowed to take down any signs without the owner giving her the ok to. Yet as manager she is responsible for the facility. We "argued" over the situation for 20 plus minutes and she ended up refunding our tickets. (She wanted us gone) What makes this situation even worse is you have to purchase tickets before asking for the cc box. And normally they refuse to refund your money but will give you tickets to come back and watch another movie. How do I know this, this is the 4th movie out of 5 that my daughter HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO ENJOY. Each time we were given tickets to return with only 1 movie ever having the cc box work. (It was Aladdin on her birthday) I will be contacting Mr. Smith's email and see if I get anywhere with that contact info, but wanted to also get the word out to others. This isn't something to take lightly. This was not only an annoyance to my daughter but embarrassing and made her feel less than human. It excluded her. And if they had not advertised to be CC compatible then we would have gone somewhere else. And if they had just refunded us after the first movie we attempted there, we would have went somewhere else. We gave Carolina Mall Cinemas several chances to make this situation right and unfortunately they have failed. THEY FAILED AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE!!! Simple, no fuss movie experience. I've been going to Carolina Mall Cinemas since I was in high school and they are very good at being a no frills movie theater. The ticket prices and concessions are far cheaper than other big named competitors and the only real downside is fewer theaters and slightly older seats. The bathrooms are a little outdated but are usually maintained and they don't really have any special events but they are perfect if your just looking to go see a flick with the family. This is a theater I go to when I'm in the area and have time to kill...it's not my first choice for movie watching. The tickets and concessions are priced much more reasonably than most theaters, which is a plus. The large size of popcorn and soda is more like a medium elsewhere. It's small, but clean. Doesn't have lots of screens, but it's cheap. That basically sums up Carolina Mall Cinemas, but it's not to be underestimated. I think this theater got wiped when Concord Mills opened ten years ago, so it had to make a lot of improvements. They've implemented stadium seating and concession combos! And it's cheaper than AMC ($11 for two adults for a 7pm show). Aaaaand you don't have to deal with race traffic since you don't have to go anywhere near the direction of the speedway (if you're coming from Kannapolis). Excellent! I have experienced the worst service I have ever had any where. From THREE different employees including the manager, my experience has been horrible. I WILL NEVER RETURN and I will spread the word. My niece and I walk in to the movies to see incredibles 2. Her heart was so happy! We get in line to get tickets.. the girl is ringing up another customer and we get in line behind. After she is done, she moves over to another register and closes it down in front of our face. She didn't say "sorry this is closed" or "I'll take you over here". Nothing. She just left us standing there. OKAY? She tells another couple (who had just walked up) "I'll take you here". So now I'm a little irritated but screw it, I'll wait for one more person. I didn't want to cause a scene in front of my niece. So as I'm waiting. A guy comes out from back and stands around twiddling his thumbs, and we make eye contact the whole time as I'm trying to figure out if he's going to say something, or if he's gonna open another register. So we're just standing there and another guy walks up and the guy twiddling his thumbs decides to walk up to a register and points to the guy who just walked up and says "I'll take you sir". So now I'm pissed. I waved my arms at him like "are you serious??" Seconds later a woman at the ends calls YET another couple who JUST walked up, to her register. I immediately say "No, excuse me we've been waiting". I get to the register and tell her about my experience and she completely ignored me. She did not say "sorry that happened" and didn't even care. WOW. She completely ignored my concern and just told me my total. My blood is boiling now. I settle my niece into the movie and excuse myself to come back out to speak to a manager. Here is the best part! I go back in line to the guy who ignored me and he did not want to take me in line I guess and points to the person behind me and ONCE AGAIN says "I'll take you sir". At this point I'm wondering if I'm invisible?? I stop him and say "excuse im ready to speak to your manager " and he grabs the LADY WHO RUNG ME UP! I immediately say "wow this is your manager" ... I'm recalling the lady who did not say anything to me at the register or even apologize. If I had a complaint why did she not say" I'm sorry about that! I am the manager". WOW THIS IS RIDICULOUS I let the manager know that I would be leaving this review. They are extremely disrespectful from the employees to management. She did give me a movie pass, " well wrote her signature on the back of my tickets" idk if will work yet.. but I probably wouldn't even come back if it was free or not. While theater may have nice seating, the owner refuses to turn on the heat. After nicely asking on numerous occasions, tonight was the final straw! We typically take blankets and jackets into the theater, but tonight we got up after tge mice was finished for me to see an elderly couple literally shaking because they were so cold. I spoke with a manager only to be informed that they have had multiple complaints about the theater being cold but that even the general manager did not have keys to access the heat controls and the owner refuses to allow the heat to be turned up for their guests. It is pretty pathetic to be so cheap that you knowingly allow paying customers to freeze just to save a buck! read more

I like going here. Went to a 1:15 show and 2 of us were less than $10. Staff is always friendly when we go. I also like it because it's the only one I know not far from us in China Grove that sells Pepsi/Mountain Dew (if I'm going to overpay for soft drinks, I want it to be drinks I actually like) and the butter is self serve for the popcorn so I can put enough on it to taste it. read more

I go to this theatre because of their reasonable ticket price. I was there last Friday for the new Star Trek movie as I watched it in their 3-d show. 2 big complaints...my chair squeaked and the seats there are the rocker type which I luv. But if I moved in my seat the danged think let out a squeak whch was annoying. The next complaint is that the movie illumination for the 3-d movie was too dark. Was really disappointing..this has happened before! Hope they fix these issues soon! read more

This is a perfectly fine movie theater. The ticket price is waaaayy better than AMC and I don't need anything but a comfy seat and a soda to watch a movie. They have the same snacks as everyone else, theater seating, cushy chairs with cup holders, and movies. If this theater wasn't open, we wouldn't go to the movies. Not dealing with Hwy 85 traffic, Concord Mills traffic, and sky high ticket prices. This theater also has 3D movies, so what more could anyone want? read more

Don't get me wrong, this place is usually great. They have all the latest movies, and the theater is always clean and comfy. Problem is, they offer a lot in 3d, and don't offer it in 2d until after matinee times, which means you pay as much to see it in 2d as you do a matinee in 3d. A lot of times the show times are not convenient, and sometimes they never even offer a matinee time for a movie! Being a poor college student, I need that break! Even just recently, when I planned to see a movie for two weeks prior when the 2d version would come to matinee times, they cancelled it right out from under me. Nothing posted on the website, nothing on the showtime listing hotline. I drove all the way down there to surprise my girlfriend, and they cancelled it. I was not happy!
