Enjoyed my solo movie date to see the sequel to one of my favorite movies, The Devil Wears Prada 2! I specifically chose this AMC because it's tucked away in the cut, not super visible from the main road, and honestly that's part of the appeal. It's always clean, calm, and drama-free every time I come here. Plus, there's plenty of parking, which already makes the experience less stressful before you even walk inside. The seats are HUGE and super comfortable, perfect for a relaxing movie night. Service is efficient, bathrooms are easy to access, and overall the theater experience is consistently solid. AMC Calverton keeps a good variety of movies for all ages. I like that they have rooms of different sizes. There are always seats for those with mobility disabilities The staff is friendly and makes an effort to keep facilities clean. You can still watch the matinee price on the weekend until 3pm. Food and snack prices, like everywhere else, are high. I don't understand why nachos and reheated hotdogs must be so expensive, but that's where we are. A convenient AMC located close by to cherry hill area. Service is pretty good here. You can purchase tickets on arrival or ahead of time and there are people to assist. On big movie night premieres it can get pretty crowded but otherwise it's fairly quiet. Tuesday afternoons they have $5 movie ticket deals which is pretty nice compared to the standard $13 so I'd take advantage of it. Popcorn is pretty good here as well. Candy is overpriced though. The seats are a bit worn out but still comfortable. It's a smaller theater so again the big, popular releases will often sell out really quickly here. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly. It's nothing fancy but you can tell it's cleaned since they restock the toiletries and paper towels. Parking is a bit annoying. Front parking is primarily for the handicapped and regularly parking is a bit further down from the theater. read more

The Staff is polite and the seats (sometimes) recline... That's the end of the positives. It's been a long time since this theater was updated. About half of the lights outside the entrance are either burned out or off. The lights in the main parking area were off altogether making it dangerous. In my previous visit one of the drink machines wasn't signed on and the tray was filled with water and my reclining seat didn't work at all. This time, I went to the theater and while waiting for the movies there were mice, darting in and out of the seats. I left and declined the offer for a pass to see the movie again. Will not be coming back here again which is sad, because it used to be my place to go 10 years ago. read more

There is something unsettling about a movie theater tucked away in a business park. It just doesn't feel like a movie theater that many people go out of their way to attend, but it surprised me at how many people were either here, or coming here when I left. It had been a minute since I seen a movie in the theater and I wanted to get out of the house. Even though it felt unsettling, this was the perfect venue once inside. Purchasing your ticket is easy. You can either do it yourself on the touchscreen or go through the line with an employee. Either way, you will still have to talk to an employee as they take your ticket and direct you for the direction of the theater. Of course I was greedy while I was here and got myself some popcorn and a drink from the concession stand. This was a swift as it could be and I took my time to make sure that I was satisfied with how much butter I put on the popcorn. I made sure to grab extra napkins and made my way to the theater. What I liked about this theater was that I didn't have to pick a seat beforehand. I could just go in and grab whichever seat I wanted and not be surprised that I had a seat neighbor. Theater was decent, appeared to be updated recently. Seats were comfortable and the reclining was nice. Only down side to this place was the parking aspect. You basically have to park across the street in a lot and then take stairs and pray to god that you don't get hit by a vehicle when crossing to get to the theater. It is kind of a blind curve and not all that easy to cross if it is busy. There is a small arcade inside that you putz around in while waiting for your movie to begin. Bathrooms are decent, read that as clean, overall I can see myself revisiting this place to see future films. read more

I'm on a personal mission to find my go-to movie theater so I visit a different location with each movie. This was my latest location. It's a smaller theater with about 8 theaters available. It was clean enough but the floors could use a deep clean. They were sticky in most areas. The actual theater was big and had reclining chairs. There was also plenty of parking which is always a bonus for me. I enjoyed my watch experience but I did have some gripes with the theater. The concession team needs some training on customer service. I received a dirty cup and the dirty stares I received when I asked for a new one were interesting. It was almost like I was bothering them and interrupting their conversation. The end of one screening is TOO close to start of the next. I arrived less than 20 minutes early for a 5:30 pm show. The previous movie hadn't ended yet when we walked into the theater. A few other guests accidentally walked in to early too. One of the employees let us know we could wait in the lobby because they still had to get everyone out and clean the theater. They were finished with that at 5:25 pm. Guests for the following movie also walked in early at the end of our screening. With some small changes, I think this could an even better experience for patrons. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this theater. I wasn't expecting much and thought that the technology would be old, but my theater had the recliners and the movie picture was crisp! Prices for a weekday matinee were reasonable, so I treated myself to the Real 3D showing (~$15). As a small cineplex (only 8 theaters), I thought the screen would be on the small side based on my previous experience at the Wheaton AMC, but the screen size was decent and gave me a satisfactory movie-going experience. There's plenty of parking available, and I was greeted and my ticket was scanned at the front as soon as I walked in. The usher directed me to the proper theater and he told me where I could collect my 3D glasses. This attention to detail is not something that I take for granted at movie theaters; he checked all of the boxes. Something I found unique about this location is that they had a bin at the front with free movie posters! Sure, all the blockbuster movie posters were already gone, but I appreciated the chance to take home some movie memorabilia. My only note would be that the theater cleaning could be more thorough- my seat had an empty crumpled soda cup by the foot of the seat, which tells me that the cleanings in between showings aren't very meticulous. But overall, the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. As a Regal fan, this AMC location impressed me and I can see myself coming back. read more

It was not due to being busy because it was empty. I had to go to the counter and inquire about the movie starting. The popcorn here used to be the best, but it's not anymore. An AMC theater I actually love! So its hidden you dont see this off the street. We bought our tickets at the kiosk because computers are taken over lol. Nice lobby, clean and no signs of young people loitering. We went to the concession and got Icees and popcorn. They had a station to add imitation butter. Whatever that mess was upset my stomach. You can refill your Icee or soda here yay!! Popcorn is not fresh. I love freshly popped corn and this saddened me ): Movie theater saved my day. Its like IPIC without the blankets and table side service. Reclining seats made the movie enjoyable. Plenty of leg room if you opt to sit than to lay down. However you might get so comfy that you fall asleep like I did. I fell asleep for 20 minutes and my friends thought it was hillarous.. Also theaters are super clean. Clean floors? What?! Most places floors are sticky and dirty. Not here. The stereo system A+. This would've been 5 stars but the food was awful. Get Stub rewards. If your a movie buff this is worth it. read more

I personally love this theater! It's low key in the cut as far as location. It's in the boarder line of PG county and Montgomery County and it has recliner seating! I have been going to this location when It was "Loews Movies" long time ago. Anyways the parking is great!! So many spaces you do not have to worry about! The front parking is only handicapped. Which is nice! Back then it was half and half on handicap parking. The food is your usual movie theater options! It's all good! Not complaints. The seating is nice and comfy and the surround sound and picture is all on point! I live in Gaithersburg Maryland and I always travel down here to see a movie! If you go in the mornings? A small and cozy feeling neighborhood AMC theater that's generally clean and comfortable with reclining seats to enjoy a movie. The theatre has 8 screens which isn't a far walk from payment and concessions stand area or bathrooms. Everything conveniently located. Two parking lots available for ample parking. Staff is helpful and friendly. Had a recent incident when my credit card dropped on the floor and I didn't realized until I was by the car. When I went back to look for it the theatre was already cleaned. I went to the ticket purchase stand and explained what happened. The young (teenager looking) male immediately said he'll check with the guys who just left there. He went to another theatre looking for them and a moment later came back with a credit card in his hand. He verified it was mine before handing it to me. I sincerely appreciate their honesty as things could have transpired a totally different way. Concession stand offers typical refreshments like the average theaters. Popcorn is regularly popped fresh and I find it quite tasty. The butter, fountain drinks, and Icee machines are self serve. They also have individually wrapped sanitizing wipes available by the ticket collecting stand. I've been here a couple times and felt COVID safe. On each occasion it's been myself and one other person in the theatre at most. No issues at all with finding seat options. Tickets and seat selections can be completed online for your convenience. My only complaint and reason for taking off two stars off is the drink area and women's bathroom needs to be kept cleaner. The drink counter is messy with straw paper and lids thrown down and drink spills. Women's bathroom garbage over flowing with paper towels each time I've used it. Floor needed to be mopped as well. I've never seen the theatre busy which is why I like going to this location especially with COVID still going on. Therefore the staff should be able to attend to this things. Apart from that I do highly recommend coming this theatre. read more

The seats recline and the staff is nice. That is the only two things I liked about the theater. It seemed really old and dingy. Parking lot nor the theater seems to be well kept. The concession only had a few items. Everything else was OUT! No hotdogs and no nachos, which are the basics of any theater. Will not be going again, and I don't recommend it. read more

We purchased the AMC A-List membership for $22 per month (highly recommended) so we have 3 movies a week we can watch, and we can book our show and exact seats beforehand. Far better than our declining Moviepass experience of 2016 and 2017 and much of 2018. My boyfriend and I went to see a double feature of Second Act in 2D and Bumblebee in Real 3D on Christmas Day. The place was packed! The parking lot is down a narrow road and off to the left. Then you have to traipse through bushes to go up a shortcut or go around the parking lot with oncoming traffic to get to the theater---not the best for foot traffic. The ticket checker scanned our passes and asked for IDs to confirm our A-List membership matched the ticket names and off we went. No issues at all. The seats in both theaters were cozy, comfortable, and clean. The previews started at the show start time but lasted 24 minutes, which is far more than I remember at a movie theater. The wait in line for concessions was reasonable, and they staffed a lot of teen cashiers working assiduously to get food and drink orders out. The clientele were mostly boisterous youth but also families with three generations and quite a diverse lot overall. Overall, our experience was positive and we look forward to visiting this local AMC often! read more

This theater is a real mixed bag for review. The theaters very tiny so it only shows a few movies at a time. It has stadium seating but as close to not having stadium seating as you can be, almost no depth. The arm is lift up if you were sitting with your girlfriend or significant other. But the workers in this theater very wildly from pretty doggone good and friendly to you have to be kidding me. I do like the Coke machines that allow for custom blends but the popcorn is some of the worst in the theater world. read more

This has got to be one of the better gems in the area when it comes to seeing a movie. It's tucked off to the side where it won't get much notice unless you are following your GPS or you happen to see the sign out on the main road. When you get there though, you should just expect a good experience. Huge parking. Why is there a huge, well lit, parking lot with enough space for every single person going to every single business in the area? Heck if I know. All I can really tell you is that after several years of going here (Yes, my review is a little tardy.), is that I have never had to circle the lot waiting for someone to leave so that I can park. Never. The place is clean. I've never had my shoes stuck to the theater floor. I've never been repelled by bathroom conditions (really important). I've never wondered if they would pass a visit by the health inspector. The staff is cool too. They are friendly when everything is working. They are friendly when the scanner isn't working right. They are more into getting you what you need, instead of conversations with each other. Basically, they are there for you. "Back in the day" this theater was a go to for many since it was convenient - right off the beltway and for me, close to my home and even in college (University of Maryland), this was the closest movie theater. This was before downtown silver spring and muvico days (yes, I'm old) LOL So within the last year (at least to my knowledge), they renovated this place big time and it's soooo nice now. I love going to a theater only 5 minutes from home and one as spacious and comfy. Compared to other luxury theaters, this one is still very affordable. In fact, I've found it to be cheaper than some that are not even deemed "luxury." On Sundays before noon, it's dirt cheap (with movies at regular old theaters costing $14, who won't wanna pay $5?). I really love the pre-ordering of seats in advance (although at first I hated the concept of such a thing). It is definitely worth it :) read more

Going to the movies with friends is always a fun outing. & going to a theater (my 1st time here) with a friendly staff & a clean/spacious area, seals the visit with 5 stars. There was a handful of staff present for our 'Jungle Book' viewing, even with the pre-paid tickets, they ushered us in with a smile. The concession stand offered a nice variety of the normal snacks, with mini meal deals such as chicken fingers & fries, comfort drinks of teas & coffee. The Coke Freestyle Machine is present. It's always a plus to get a free upgrade when you participate in the Rewards program. Stopped in the Ladies Room beforehand & this place was colorfully designed & CLEAN! Kudos to the restroom restoration crew. The auditorium was spacious & those big red, comfortable reclining chairs was on deck. They are so relax-full, I briefly dozed off until I heard Idris Elba's voice LOL. Side note & not to encourage this...when the seats are extended, there's still room to walk by. The screen was enormously clear & the surround sound was perfect. They offer senior, military & student discounts, close caption & assisted listening devices. Great, convienent theater. I am not from the Maryland area and I did not know what yo expect but this place was really nice. The reclining seats were more comfortable than most other AMC seats. The custer srrvice was friendly and there is ample parking. I subtracted one start only becausr the lobby was a little messy-likely due to it being opening weekend for Marvel Endgame. The service was also a litle slow again probably due to opening weekend for a big movie. Overall, I would definitely come back based on convenience and comfort. read more

While the movie theatre has nice reclining chairs, the theatre is filthy. The disaster starts from the minute you arrive at the doors, the outside concrete is spot black with gum and has grimy door handles and glass doors. The movie start time was 1pm, but the doors were locked and the staff was just getting to work. My date and I had to wait outside the door with others while they setup (popcorn, hot dogs...). Once we got to our seats (which we were required to reserve at purchase upon entering), our seats had crumbs in them. We lift up the armrest and it was more food there. I found this theater trying to catch black panther before someone spoiled it all for me. I found out that there was an accident early showing at 9 am and it was 10 minutes from my house so that's a plus! I got the first seat on the first row for $5.60 and I upgraded myself 10 minutes into the movie for the win!!! The movie theater was clean and the chairs reclined perfectly. The staff was courteous and the bathrooms were impeccably clean for a packed movie theater. I did see the first movie of the day but I will come back soon. I've been going to the one in Columbia because of the Restaurants around it and the shopping but I could see myself frequenting this location. read more

The restrooms are atrocious. People complained to the manager, by the end if my movie, it was no different. The food service took way too long and it turns out, the crew member dispersing food orders does not like to call out numbers. My pretzel order was 12 pretzel bites. Literally 12. This was the strangest AMC I've ever been in. I'm an AMC Stubs member so I always buy my tickets on the app and someone scans it on my phone to get into the theater area. Walk in and there's one guy working surrounded by a bunch of kiosks. We asked where the bathroom was and went there first. Typical, unclean movie theater bathroom so no surprise there. We came out and literally could have just walked into the theater without paying. No one to be found to scan or check for tickets. If I wasn't an honest person, I could have gotten a refund for my friends ticket and no one would have even known. Seats were comfortable and reclining. Screen was fine and sound was good too. But thankfully the White Marsh location is my go to spot since it's so much closer. read more

We came here for discount Tuesdays - if you sign up for a free membership, movie tickets on Tuesdays are only $6! This is perfect for us because we work across the street, and the 4:00-5:00 showings are perfect if we want to catch a movie together. The seats are reserved and recline back all the way which is real nice. However, I really didn't feel like I was saving money after buying concessions - I got a small popcorn and a small icee and I was out $17! Maybe plan on snacking before or after the movie. read more

We've enjoyed going to this theater for years and sometimes what I like most about it isn't good for the long term viability of the business: it's never crowded. I have the app on my phone. I'm a Premiere member and I love the rewards program. They extended my membership due to the pandemic. They didn't have to do that but I appreciate it. I love that I can reserve my seats and order my food before I get there. I love the awesome recliner movie seats. The popcorn is pretty good, the butter machines work well, and I love the soda machines. The theater is generally pretty clean. The bathrooms are a little dirtier than I'm comfortable with but I just walk past them all until I find the cleanest one. Would also appreciate it if I didn't find popcorn stuck in the wedges of the chairs. Maybe vacuuming? I do hope this place is able to sustain itself. My favorite fair of this theater is that they have keto friendly snacks: cheese wisps, harvest snaps, diet fountain sodas in all kinds of flavors. The theater is cold so bring a blanket. I went to this theater with my son and sisters and lost an item while there. The lead crew member (Karina A.) was very helpful and did all that she could to help me find it! The staff that was here today 6/22/22 between 1pm-4pm (Karina and another employee who was wearing glasses) was so polite and professional.
