Great place for going to the movies. I like this place for a lot of reasons, here are some of them..... 1. Clean , no smells, my feet never stick to the floor 2. I feel safe there and in the parking lot 3. The people that work there seem to understand what I am saying 4. there are many theaters so I can almost always find a movie at the right time 5. Me and my son went in there on Saturday to catch a flick. Had a while until the movie started so we went to the Starbucks in the same plaza. I had finished mine but he was still workin on his and he said he would bring it in to the movie and they better not give him any sh*t or else. Wanted to just contact the theater about this, but can't find a way so putting it out here. Took our grandson yesterday to see Howl's Moving Castle - made sure I checked for a "dubbed" version as his reading isn't great. Surprise when the movie started to find it was subtitled, not dubbed. Even checked again when I got home to make sure I hadn't misread, but no, yesterday was marked dubbed. I would like to take him to see the next two Studio Ghibli movies, but not I can't trust AMC's listings to give the correct info. The help at the concession stand was pretty useless - toally screwed up the order of two large drinks (gave one large and one small), but had a couple of very friendly people scanning us in and the girl, Kenna, at the ticket counter was very sweet and helpful! read more

I actually worked at this location in high school. It's even where I met my husband (we worked there together). We went back over the weekend to see Ides of March (which is great by the way) and were so disappointed to see what it has become. First of all it says a lot that it was completely dead on a Saturday night. I couldn't believe they'd closed off the entire east wing of the theater as well as the concession stand over in the west wing. Granted they're not regularly open, it just looks tacky to have a fake wall and some game machines in front of it. I came for a movie not a trip to the arcade. There has clearly been a change in management since our last visit and since we worked there because this is not a theater worth heading to anymore. Cold popcorn, service so bad that I had to remind them to get or soda, and charge my card and return it to me. How about we don't take my card unless we're going to charge it and hand it to me? No sitting on the counter while you figure out how to grab a soda and popcorn. read more

Took the kids to see Kong Skull island. Lots changed in this theatre. Looks like they have really updated the place even adding a bar area for adult beverages. They have new kiosk. We were in the IMAX theatre and for the price I expected better seating. They seemed a bit tight and close together. It seemed much busier than normal as well. The drink station is nice and updated as well. Overall I really like the changes and look forward to coming back to see what else may of changed. read more

I am not a fan of the remodel at the Desert Ridge AMC so we deviated from routine and tried out the Deer Valley location. This is my new preferred theater! It is regular theater seating (as opposed to the reclining seats), huge screens, and lower ticket prices than Desert Ridge. It was also clean, had a huge bathroom so no lines, and the employees were pretty friendly. They also have a USwirl right next door and picking up yogurt after a movie is a pretty great. read more

I have been to this theater 3 times and time for a review. The first time was okay no issues. The second time was for John Wick 2. I bought the tickets a week before the release. We get there for the show time and they had switched the theater. We thought no big deal. Then a couple has two tickets as us. There was 4 of us, so after going to management. We had to move back a row. Then for the Logan movie the two seats did not work. They tried to fix the seats but were not successful. Then they split us up. We moved two seats and the other three sat in their original seats. They said sit here it is fine. Then during the previews a couple comes in with the same tickets for the seats they told us to take. I had to move back the seats that were not working. The staff did give us a couple of passes for next time. This is the last time we will visit this AMC. I am pretty close to not going back to any AMC. Their APP for the iphone and ipad does not work. I subscribed for a notification for john wick tickets also. I got the notification a week after the movie opened too. AMC has a lot of issues it seems. I think we will stick to Harkin and Cinemark from now on. read more

Love coming here. Huge theater. One thing that could change is the bathrooms being cleaned. Odd smell and not clean at all.. there was a family with younger gets getting drinks/icees and they were spilling it on purpose all over the floor and no one stopped them... the chairs in theater 14 some of them need some mechanical work on them and you can tell. read more

I use to love this theater. It sucks a$$ now. You can't just grab the kids to go to movies. Cause when u do. You get there and all the seats are gone to whoever paid online hours of not days ago. Online reservations only. We couldn't even sit together. So I left. Came over here to harkins to watch a movie with my husband and 2 kids. AMC going all digital is bull crap. No tellers anymore. Won't come back. We came back last day of April. And it was 29$ for 2 adults and 1child. 4.55 was charged for a "convenience fee" and there was a tax added on that fee. And there was ticket tax of 2$and that too had an additional tax. It's bullish£t. So if you think it's only 7.99 a ticket... don't forget the "fees" that follow it. I think they started this cause min. Wage went to ten dollars and can't pay tellers anymore so they got rid of them. Started the computer system and added additional fees to gain more money. I hate this place. Wouldn't have come back at all accept we had a gift card. read more

I haven't been to an AMC theater in probably 10 years. I stopped goin because I felt their prices were always higher and their locations were always dirty. My wife and I saw Star Wars at a new Prime location in Burbank, CA and were totally impressed. So, I figured we could give the local one a shot. Just by entering the lobby, we could tell things haven't changed. There was smashed popcorn EVERYWHERE in the lobby. Straw wrappers and other random crap scattered through out. How hard is it to send 1-3 people out with a broom and dustpan? You had 3 sitting behind the "self-serve" snack counter??? We got to our seats, hoping that at least the "Prime" experience would be the same. NOPE!! Did we happen to pick the only two seats that weren't cleaned? Or the only two seats with broken controls?? Or is it more likely that this is the overall condition of the entire theater??? I think it's the third one... Oh, and how hard is it to start on time? They didn't roll the previews until 10min after the start time. We won't be back, even if we had free passes. read more

A couple of problems happened today when I went with my husband. We ordered the large popcorn drink combo. The popcorn was terrible, must have given us the bottom of the barrel. The whole time while eating it we had to be very careful not to crack a tooth on the uncooked kernels. Also has a weird beefy taste. The other problem was the bathroom, needed maintenance. I tend to go to this theatre for 4 reasons. Habit. Some strange alliance to AMC having once worked there. Next to my favorite sushi place. I have a crap load of movie watcher points. That said, I'm not the biggest fan anymore. The quality of the prints seems to suffer, perhaps due to under trained projectionists. They are way to strict about outside beverages. I understand you want to sell concessions, but forbidding my $4 coffee won't make me want to buy a $6 soda. In fact I'll likely not buy the $5 nachos or $4 bag of candy because of the policy. However, the $5 weekday and before noon movies, combined with my movie watcher points and pockets big enough to sneak in snacks, will probably keep me here. But I am way more likely to go to a Harkins than I used to be. They have pizza and popcorn chiken. read more

I was here for a screening of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and was pretty impressed with the theatre. Seemed clean and staff was friendly. This theatre has the Coca-Cola freestyle machines awesome! The size small drink is about the size of a large at McDonalds but you get free refills. I like coming to this location, but I put in a lot of effort to make sure I have a good movie experience. Weird right? I always try to go early morning or late night weekdays when I go to movies, to avoid the crowds, and I never see movies when they are first out. Unless it's a comedy, I prefer being around a few people as humanly possible for my movie. Otherwise, I don't care which location you're at, from Harkins to AMC, Scottsdale to Glendale, there are ALWAYS those people that talk loud during the movies. Young and old, but sad to admit mostly teenagers that think they are acting cool. That's why I go when they are in bed or off to school. After I masterfully dodge the crowd, I've always been in a clean theater. In fact I'm usually the weirdo that sits around until the credits are done and lights are on. And these AMC employees act like cracked out broom ninjas. Swooping in to desperately sweep up and clean the place before the next showing starts. Like 5 or more people will rush in and you see it go from junkie with cups left behind and popcorn everywhere, to pretty clean considering they have a small 5 min window of opportunity to get it done before the next movie. When I've had complaints in the past about people that wouldn't shut up and they kept disturbing my whole movie experience, the manager took care of it. They were either willing to ask these people to be quiet, leave, or they would allow me a refund voucher so I could come back and see the movie at a different time. They've been great to work with me, so far. read more

Nothing special about this theater. It's swarming with teeny boppers, the parking lot sucks ass (big time!), lines are long & slow and the tickets & food are over priced. After coming to this location for many years this is still one of AMC's better locations. They are conveniently located off of Loop 101. They have modernized this theater over the years. The parking is good. People who work here are helpful and very friendly. I live in Chandler, so this theater is not convenient for me, but they do have IMAX so I do come here when the show time is convenient. =) read more

Hands down the best place to go for variety. Because they have 30 different movies running they get to keep some longer than most theaters. They also have small budget & foreign films, a rarity in this state. During Oscar time in the past they have made sure they've had the movies that are nominated for awards, which I think is really cool :) They have $5 movies ($5.25 after tax) Monday through Thursday all day & on weekends for movies before 12 noon. That's a great deal. Aesthetically speaking, the place is nice, but I caught a movie there this weekend & was hit with the smell of cooked cabbage when I walked into the theater,,,,, not sure what to attribute it to. The other downer is that this is a big hangout for kids on weekend nights. Seriously, they are out in hoards, & I think the worst part is trying to play frogger with the line of parents who are picking them up, without parking of course :) Because I suck at video games I avoid this completely & just stick to weekday movies. read more

I go here for the $5 movies. If money weren't an issue you'd find me at the Harkins on Happy Valley instead. Another bonus is the MovieWatcher rewards card because for every 5 tickets you buy (10 points) you get a free small popcorn or soda (which you can upgrade to a bigger size) or for every 30 points you get your choice of a free movie ticket or a free large popcorn and soda. Sometimes the quality of the prints isn't very good, and occasionally the sound quality is lacking. The staff is friendly enough. Since there are 30 theaters here there's always a good variety of movies and the recently released movies are begin almost every hour. Parking can occasionally be a pain. I wish they weren't so strict about letting patrons bring in outside drinks. I can understand why they wouldn't want people bringing in entire pizzas but it'd be nice to bring in a cup of Starbucks and not have to worry about sneaking it in. read more

This is the nearest AMC to me and I have to say it was not my favorite. I would prefer to drive a little further to a nicer one. It was very dirty as I walked in it just looked messy with trash everywhere. My pretzel bites were also burnt so I did not eat them as they left a horrible taste. I like this theater a lot. They have 4 larger theaters (one being an IMAX) and the rest are pretty much normal size for a multiplex. The staff has always been nice there and are pretty quick at the concession stand. It's not a new theater anymore and there are certainly more glitzy theaters around now, but it's not rundown and everything is still kept fairly clean. read more
