AMC is our go-to movie theater and we honestly prefer it over the nearby Harkins. One of the things our family loves most is the self-serve drink station. My daughter is very particular about having light ice, so being able to make her own drink is a big win. The same goes for the slushies, our son loves mixing flavors and creating his own combo. The variety of soda and flavor options is great, and for adults, it's nice that there's also a bar available if you want to grab a drink. We recently rented a private theater for my son's birthday, and overall it was such a fun experience. He brought 15 friends to see the new Mario movie, and the staff really helped make it great. Annie, who checked us in was fantastic, she even let me store our cupcakes behind the ticket counter so they wouldn't melt in the car, which I really appreciated. We enjoyed those after the movie outside in the courtyard. We arrived early to order snack packs for the kids, and everything was so well organized. Each pack had popcorn, candy, and slushy cups ready to go. One of the employees (wearing a Luigi hat) went above and beyond. He had everything loaded on a cart, brought it into the theater, and helped pass out everything to the kids. It made the whole process so easy. I wish I remembered his name because he was great. The only hiccup we experienced was with the movie timing. When booking the private theater, it showed a 1:00 PM start time with about 25 minutes of previews. However, once we were seated, the movie started about 10 minutes early with no previews at all. We had a few kids arriving later, expecting to make it during previews, so this threw off our timing a bit. The staff did try to fix it by stopping and restarting the movie, but ultimately there were still no previews. It would be helpful if that detail was clarified during booking so parents can plan accordingly. Even with that small issue, the kids had a great time, and the staff was very helpful. AMC will definitely continue to be our go-to theater. read more

Definitely won't be returning to this theater. I chose this theater because of its location and the IMAX theater option. When I entered the theater and walked up the steps there were no row letters to know which row my seat was in. I had to ask another customer to make sure I was in the right row. According to another customer the row desigations are on the other side of the theater. The theater still has the old style seats that dont reclined, the seats are very worn and show their age and there is very little legroom. The theater was very direct with food on the floor. The sound was so loud during the 25 minutes of previews that I wish I had had ear plugs. Luckily the sound volume was appropriate for the feature film. I expected a lot more for my ~$23 ticket. I saw the same movie the week before but at a theater that showed it in Cine XL and the senior ticket was less than $19, the seats reclined and even with seats reclined there was plenty of room for people to walk by. This is just one experience. Others may have a different experience in a different auditorium. read more

Came again to see Toy Story 5 with my crew. The theater was nice as always but they no longer deliver food to your seat. After you purchase food, you have to wait on the other side where it's prepared and wait until they call your ticket number. Not really a fan of that but it's their new system so can't do anything about it. The staff were nice as usual , prices are high as always but movie was good. read more

I've always preferred AMC over Harkins. This has always been a nice theatre to visit. Clean for the most part, but there may have been times when a few food remnants were left behind from the previous show. Seats are comfortable with nice recline features. The buttons however are very sensitive. My purse kept hitting them and my seat kept readjusting positions. Lol. Using the app is great. Pick your exact seats you want and pay. That's it. It's nice you can also order your snacks ahead of time and just enter what time you expect to arrive. Sound system is booming. You can feel it in your seat. Bring a sweater or blanket. I always find it cold in the theatre, which can be great when it's 100 degrees outside. read more

This theater is in the Desert Ridge shopping center. My advice for parking is enter off of Tatum to the main entrance (the one after Target) and drive all the way to the end of the mall and enter from the last entrance. Parking was easy but it is a very crowded area. We purchased tickets online and they have assigned seating so that makes it very simple. I thought my seat was at the top of the theater going down but you actually had to walk up like three sets of stairs -- no biggie. The chairs are retractable and you are almost laying down with a foot rest. Only problem is my legs are so long that they hang off the end which after a while gets uncomfortable. I also wish the head part could be raised a little because I felt like I was laying down too much. They do have a little table in front of each chair to put your popcorn or candy -- that is nice It also has a drink holder. I saw Backrooms -- it was ok but it's always an experience at the movies! read more

Everything was laid out AMAZING! -pros Pop machines all were stocked working great icee machine was working and good Floors were vacuumed and clean -Cons Popcorn was a little cold and burnt towards bottom of the tub Restrooms mens was clean but had numerous urinals out of order/broken and stalls were atrocious, women's (per my wife) were a complete dumpster fire. Was rushed out of the movie by the cleaner my party and another 2 other who were waiting for the fantastic 4 final end credit were told to leave or stand in the corner that they needed to clean. The above issues come at going to a movie at 1530 so well before the rush so not sure why the issues. But will give the higher rating and see if it gets better as this is the amc I go to on my way home to decompress after work as always AMC Stubs is a great way to beat that east valley traffic! read more

Since moving to Phoenix in January, I have been to AMC DINE-IN Desert Ridge 18 close to 10 times. As one of the biggest movie chains in the U.S., there's a lot to like about this movie theater located in Desert Ridge Marketplace. Here's what I like. First off, parking won't be a problem as Desert Ridge Marketplace has a ton of parking. Second, it's in a great area surrounded by a ton of restaurants, bars, and shops. Making it a nice place for a night out. Now here's my favorite part. If you go on a Tuesday, you can see any movie (other than 3D and IMAX movies) for a nice discount. We're talking seven dollars and some change. All day. Discount Tuesdays has been a thing for AMC for many years. This year, they started doing the same thing on Wednesdays. Score! Now, you can get a good deal on a movie two times a week. Let's get to the in-theater experience. It's clean and the seating is comfortable. The seats recline and have footrests. They are not old and outdated like other theaters. It's a comfortable movie experience. My only real complaint is that while this theater has a good number of movies, it's not as large as the Harkins a few minutes away by car. That means that you're going to have a smaller selection of movies and a smaller selection of showings for each movie. With that being said, I'd choose AMC over Harkins any day of the week because Harkins doesn't offer discounts in the evenings on any day of the week. While it's so convenient to stream movies these days, nothing can recreate the experience of watching a film on the big screen. With some buttered movie theater popcorn in hand. It's an experience that just hits different. And AMC Desert Ridge is an great space to experience it. read more

1 movie ticket 10$+, 1 Diet Coke, 8$, 1 popcorn 14$+, I used to love going to the movies. This experience...not so much. Cold and stale popcorn. Watered down Diet Coke. Movie was 7/10. I think I am finally done with the theaters. The overall experience is just not worth the money. Netflix and Amazon Prime have won my loyalty. I came to see Girl Climber which had only the one showing at this location only in IMAX. The ticket cost $22 which is pretty steep for a 90 minute movie. This theater also didn't have the super comfy seats that recline. The visual and audio for the movie were good. read more

We purchased advance tickets on Fandango. With Fandango you may choose your reserved seat in advance. There is a surcharge to use this service but no problem. The lounge chairs are comfortable with a desk like area for food and a cup holder for drinks. We saw Wicked which is excellent. It's almost a 3 hour movie and time flew by. My only comment is the sound is so loud, even my iWatch told me it was above 90 decibels. I felt a bit deaf when leaving. Shared parking lot and WiFi in many of the larger stores. read more

I've never been to this theatre, but my son wanted to see the new Jurassic movie. So I got online to book with Roadhouse but they were sold out. So I searched and AMC came up. I selected Thursday and the seats and paid. THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY MY FAULT..... but when I looked at my purchase I noticed that the tickets were for the following Thursday not this Thursday, not sure how I screwed up but I did. I immediately went to return option and it refunded me only partial payment not the full amount I was charged. I definitely will not ever go here. Roadhouse is WAY WAY BETTER. Not to mention that AMC charged me $56 for 3 tickets. And Roadhouse was only $36! Insane. read more

My husband and I bought tickets to watch a movie yesterday and were planning on doing dine-in. Our breakfast ended up starting late so we weren't hungry by the time we checked in. But, we were able to get our order of popcorn, drinks, and candy brought over to us. We've been to this theater multiple times before when we worked in the area, but since we've left we haven't really been able to come here. We went to see the new Superman, which was pretty good. One of the previews looked blurry, or maybe like it was 3D, and that was weird. Until the movie started. At which point my companion went out to the lobby, where he was told that oops, that showing is in 3D, and they should've been giving out glasses. I'm knocking off a star for that, because making sure guests in 3D theaters have 3D glasses is a major function of their business. Still, the hot food, ordered at the counter and brought to your seat, and regular movie snacks, are fantastic. My companion had mozzarella sticks, I had the nachos, and we both indulged in a little popcorn. What's a movie without it? And theirs is delicious. The woman's restroom is disgusting, she had to check 5 stalls before finding one that didn't have a broken door or was not dirty. This is not a 2024 theater, no side table or leather chairs. My wife and I seldom leave the house because we're both in our 50's and we have health issues. We finally leave the house because it's her 53rd birthday and she wants to see the Mandalorian movie. It was 3-D. During the previews, the first thing we recognized that was wrong was a trailer that was supposed to be 3-D for the movie Moana, wasn't.... even though we had our glasses on, it hurt our eyes and it looked funny... We both had to take our glasses off because it was as if we weren't even wearing any 3-D glasses... Something was clearly wrong with either both pairs of glasses or the trailer. We assumed it was the trailer, but then the movie started, and the same thing happened... We took the glasses off, put them on, took them off, put them on... Same thing... We may as well have not had any glasses on... Or we may as well have been wearing regular glasses or sunglasses... The glasses did nothing.. I left to go tell the employee at the front that was taking peoples tickets, the guy literally left his post to come help me immediately... He initially thought it was a setting on the projector, but when no one else had the same issue and it was just my wife and I, we decided the glasses were the culprit... We asked for two new pair and everything was great, the problem was fixed immediately. Only we missed the first 10 minutes of the movie because we didn't have glasses that worked and I was running around trying to solve the problem. I talked to a manager named Cheryl who took care of everything. She made sure that my glasses worked, and gave us passes to come back and see the movie again. Between the exceptional service that Cheryl gave us, the ticket accepting employee up front getting right on top of our concern, and the girl at the snack counter with rainbow colored hair, who also gave us top-notch service that was far above and beyond, it turned a problem situation into a far above average experience. Purchasing tickets online was a breeze. Checking in & getting refreshments either at the concession stand or delivered to your seat was also super simple. There are a lot of stalls in the women's bathrooms but I will say I was underwhelmed by the cleanliness of it and the odor. The seats are comfortable and roomy. It didn't feel too cold or too loud. Would definitely return. I do wish they'd properly address whatever that odd odor is in the bathroom through. It's not the smell of someone having just gone to the bathroom but it wasn't clean smelling either. read more

AMC Dine-In isn't a typical theater so it's a bit pricier because it offers the option to order full meals, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and enjoy them right from your seat during the movie, creating a restaurant-like experience inside the theater. We hadn't planned on going there; we were just at Desert Ridge and stopped by to use the restroom. The guy in front of us was incredibly kind and sweet, letting us go inside. Afterward, we did some shopping and felt so good from his positive energy that we decided to watch a movie. The theater could use some renovation and a deep cleaning, but we didn't mind much because we were having such a great time. We watched the monkey movie, had a blast with our popcorn, and I loved being a member, especially for the free refills. Even though they charged me for jalapeños, it was fine. read more

I've been a rewards member for many years and I'm from Philadelphia and there's AMC Theatres everywhere. I've been in Arizona for couple of years now. I finally decided to sign up for the A-list and I called this location and I spoke to a guy name Chase and I asked him how does it work? He said if I sign up I can go to the movies four times a week. He said that I can use my ticket for me, my wife and my 2 daughters, but that would only be once a week so I thought that was great. I was going to go to the movies, but then I called another location for the movie I was going to see and I asked them about this A-list ticket and how does it work on online setting it all up because that movie had the right time for me that day or the next day when I explained to them what was told to me, they said no that's not how it is each person has to have an A-list membership you can join them all together. That's not the way Chase explained it to me , so my wife ended up doing the A-list member too. Now the only thing we have to pay is for our twins. So we had to wait a day to go by in order to watch the movie from those A-list tickets. Then I called yesterday the theater and I spoke to a young lady and I asked her a question on why when I was at the checkout online that it would show three people not four and me and my wife are A-list members she said it should show four. I wanted to make sure because I wanted to go to 10 o'clock movie last night, so she wasn't sure so I asked her to talk to manager and she asked me for all my information and the manager will call me back. I wasn't going to go up there and then have to go through all that, so I never got a call back from that location with the manager, so I never went to the movies and I've been trying to go see this movie for a while now this is the second bad thing on just signing up for the A-list membership. It seems to be that nobody knows what they're doing in that movie theater. I wouldn't say everyone, but the two people I spoke to and then saying that somebody was going to call me back and no call that's horrible. I live an hour away, so someone needs to sit down and go over the rules on how everything works when people join, so they know and they could say the right thing. I'm very upset that we all wanted to go to the movies last night and nobody ever called me back, and I left all my information for nothing. read more

This is a review of our IMAX experience today. We saw the new (and I believe last) Mission Impossible movie. Movie itself was 5*. We were in row C. I figured it would likely feel too close but was not prepared for the neck pain from cranking my head up. If AMC had installed seats that reclined a bit this would not be a problem. These seats didn't recline at all. Say it with me: movies do not need to be played at 110 decibels! No, they do not. I promise! You can still get the base and all the effects at decibels that do not literally damage your ears! AMC needs to fix this, not only to entice people back to their theaters but for the sake of public health. Just do this right thing! Apart from that we see movies at this location about four, maybe five times, per year. AMC's recliners are 100% what got me going back to movie theaters again (this was several years ago) so I'm fairly loyal to AMC. I appreciate how they bring food to your seats and love being able to purchase tickets, select seats, and order food ahead of time. But really, if AMC doesn't get their volume under control then I won't be going back. And I'll avoid their IMAX theaters if they don't offer the recliners. After all, my home set up is pretty comfy so they have to do better than that if they want me to pay the high prices. read more

Walking into this movie theater felt like walking into a time capsule from 1998...that no one's cleaned since. Tonight I surprised my husband with IMAX tickets to see F1--he'd been looking forward to this movie for months. While the movie itself was amazing, the theater experience was awful. First of all, the temperature in the lobby was hotter than a sauna. We figured it would get better inside the actual theater, but it didn't. Now let's talk about the IMAX theater. Absolutely disgusting. Filthy!! The seats were threadbare and so grimy and uncomfortable I considered sitting on the popcorn-strewn floor. Mystery stains everywhere, popcorn everywhere, and the upholstery looked like it had been through a frat party and then used as a litter box. The bathrooms were just as bad. Ladies' room had toilet paper everywhere, sticky floors from spilled drinks, and overflowing trash. According to my husband, the men's room "smelled like a truck stop urinal." A lovely touch. We didn't even bother asking for a refund--we just wanted OUT. For nearly $50 (just for the tickets... it was over $100 with the food and drinks!) this experience was a joke. You're charging premium prices for this level of filth and neglect? AMC, do better. As for this location: remodel it, downgrade it to a dollar theater, or just shut it down entirely. Your customers deserve way more than this mess. read more

Nothing more than a regular theater! Advertised as Dine-In as a first time customer I was thinking of a real dining experience: Seats table server and all nine yards. But no. This is a typical moves theater where you can order drinks and food and bring it yourself to your seat. Menu choices are fast food. I would say this was a false advertising. Also tickets are sold via kiosk and they are very very light on personnel. Seats are old and worn off....not sure how long this type of business will survive.... read more

I have not been to an AMC Movie theater in years, so my experience was an absolute shocker. This place was absolutely filthy and disgusting! I don't know if something happened before I arrived for my 10 o'clock movie, BUT the floors from the lobby all the way to the theater where the movie was showing was just very appalling. There were different piles of popcorn everywhere. It really looked like no one had swept/cleaned in several hours. In the actual theater room, some of the seats were dirty, the floor was dirty, and garbage cans were overflowing. I will never step foot in another AMC if I can help it. read more

The seats are utterly filthy - the seats and armrests up and down the line are encrusted in ancient grime, our drink tray was filled with gross dirty tissues. The bathrooms are filthy. The seats do not recline, as do seats in most theaters in this town. This place needs a complete rehab from top to bottom and everything in between. We went to see the new Lilo and Stitch movie at this AMC today and our theater experience was great (the movie was great too!) We purchased tickets in the app the day prior and it was easy to do. We were able to walk right in with our tickets on our phone and there was no line at the snack counter. The Dolby theater was clean and the sound and picture were excellent. Service has been amazing especially with a situation on our chicken tenders. There's usually never an issue and by far my favorite chicken tenders but the one time around they accidentally got overcooked or just forgot to change the oil not sure but it was quickly fixed and handled. The theaters always clean and the staff here is very kind. It seems like AMC has improved a lot in the last year. I love the Dine In. Their AMC stubs membership makes complete sense if you frequent the movies a lot. My spouse and I go just about once a week. read more
