The set for tonight's play "Ripcord"
    Paula E.

There really isn't a bad seat in the house! It's a live play with great actors. I do love intimate playhouses and find that parking isn't a problem. The acting is top notch and I'm looking forward to seeing more plays here. We recently saw the performance of Ripcord" which had us laughing and crying. I hope the "two old broads production" team continues..

If you're looking for something different to do on date night why not check this place out…read more You arrive at the Orange Tree Resort (a townhouse type time share resort) and find a room full of tables set up for dinner. You're given a funny name at check-in and assigned a table. The show starts and there are breaks during which the same actors serve dinner to the audience. Three course meal, first the salad, second course chicken, mashed potatoes & veggies and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Cash bar in the corner, open all night. Food was good, nothing fancy, hotel banquet room type food. The acting was good, the puns were funny. During dessert you guess who the killer is (there are forms & pencils at every table) and there are two winners. I guessed correctly and got a ticket for a future event! Woohoo!!

At first glance, not much too much.. just a sign that says Murder and a Meal and a big room filled with dinner tables, etc. However, from the minute you step inside, the characters walk around the room and start to engage with the audience. Show is very entertaining and hysterical. They even called my boyfriend up to participate as a French waiter.. it was hilarious. We enjoyed the three course meal as part of the experience. The main course (Chicken Florentine) was delicious. Great for a date night or girlfriends night out especially when you are looking to laugh!

Yes, you read that right - even after two years, I'm still discovering new techniques, insights, & skills with each class! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the kindness & supportiveness of everyone - teachers, students, & staff - is ridiculously kind & supportive. It's like walking into a big ol' hug! Matt & Brian, are total rockstars. They're genuine, talented, & have helped me grow not just as an actor but as a person too (which is just as important). The classes are engaging, challenging, & fun! I've learned so much & seen major improvement in my craft. But what really sets Dearing apart is the community vibe. Everyone is super nice, supportive, & genuinely invested in each other's success. It's like we're all in this together! If you're thinking about acting classes, check out Dearing Acting Studio. Our meal included roasted chicken, corn, a potato, garlic toast, tomato bisque soup, and dessert. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and filling, and our server provided excellent service throughout the evening. The entertainment was outstanding from start to finish. We loved the exciting jousting matches, sword fighting, horsemanship, and crowd interaction. The knights and horses were incredible, and the action kept us engaged the entire time. Overall, it was a fun, unique, and memorable experience that we would highly recommend!

Perhaps management has talked to them about this. We were so much happier to give a gratuity under these circumstances. But if I were in charge I'd just raise the price and say no tipping expected. How cool would that be for a change? Beverages are lemonad, Pepsi, Pepsi zero, ice tea (I think) and water. They come one more time to refill before desert. And then offer coffee after desert. I don't think arriving early got us a better section, because we were still at probably the worst seats in the house. But that's relatively speaking because I don't think there's any really bad seats. If you tell them why you came the King and Queen will announce your name and the special occasion. Even if it's just "for a fun night out" that counts! They probably read everyone's name in the auditorium if seemed. Before the show you can walk around and shop. Full armor purchase will set you back $4,000-$6,000. I know you want to take that home. They also got light up swords etc. lots of folks buying stuff. We got a shirt The food was surprisingly decent. First course is garlic bread and tomato bisque soup. Second course is roast chicken. Third course is corn on cob and potatoes. And fourth course is desert (partially frozen mini eclair). My only complaint is that there were a few Karens in the crowd. Usually renaissance and medieval events attract only chill folks. But well we had a few women in the crowd who just seemed hell bent to make sure everyone had as miserable a time as they were having. They thought my kid was cheering too loudly and wanted her to tone it down a notch or two, as it was hurting their precious ears. These are folks across the stairs and a row down from us. Seriously? Just kinda ruined the night for my kid to be honest.

I saw first hand her level of professionalism and her working knowledge of surviving in show business, more importantly, how to survive 8 shows a week of high modern-aged belting. In the years since, I have encountered (auditions or on stage) several of Kelli's students and been thorough amazed. They display great poise, investment in their craft, and in some, a greater depth of feeling than their young years should provide. Several are working professionally. One just closed in a starring role on Broadway. Everyone has a voice. If that were enough, the stars would fill the airwaves. Unfortunately, getting from studio to the stage door entrance takes hard work and frankly, a great deal of insider knowledge.
