The set for tonight's play "Ripcord"
    Paula E.

There really isn't a bad seat in the house! It's a live play with great actors. I do love intimate playhouses and find that parking isn't a problem. The acting is top notch and I'm looking forward to seeing more plays here. We recently saw the performance of Ripcord" which had us laughing and crying. I hope the "two old broads production" team continues..

If you're looking for something different to do on date night why not check this place out…read more You arrive at the Orange Tree Resort (a townhouse type time share resort) and find a room full of tables set up for dinner. You're given a funny name at check-in and assigned a table. The show starts and there are breaks during which the same actors serve dinner to the audience. Three course meal, first the salad, second course chicken, mashed potatoes & veggies and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Cash bar in the corner, open all night. Food was good, nothing fancy, hotel banquet room type food. The acting was good, the puns were funny. During dessert you guess who the killer is (there are forms & pencils at every table) and there are two winners. I guessed correctly and got a ticket for a future event! Woohoo!!

At first glance, not much too much.. just a sign that says Murder and a Meal and a big room filled with dinner tables, etc. However, from the minute you step inside, the characters walk around the room and start to engage with the audience. Show is very entertaining and hysterical. They even called my boyfriend up to participate as a French waiter.. it was hilarious. We enjoyed the three course meal as part of the experience. The main course (Chicken Florentine) was delicious. Great for a date night or girlfriends night out especially when you are looking to laugh!

Yes, you read that right - even after two years, I'm still discovering new techniques, insights, & skills with each class! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the kindness & supportiveness of everyone - teachers, students, & staff - is ridiculously kind & supportive. It's like walking into a big ol' hug! Matt & Brian, are total rockstars. They're genuine, talented, & have helped me grow not just as an actor but as a person too (which is just as important). The classes are engaging, challenging, & fun! I've learned so much & seen major improvement in my craft. But what really sets Dearing apart is the community vibe. Everyone is super nice, supportive, & genuinely invested in each other's success. It's like we're all in this together! If you're thinking about acting classes, check out Dearing Acting Studio. We just had to show our confirmation email, and they gave us the accessories included with our celebration package before directing us to the line for our crown photos. There was a strong "livestock" smell when we first arrived, but it gradually dissipated as the night went on. The lobby is huge and has plenty of space to grab drinks before the show. We were running close to showtime, and the staff let us know that we could order drinks at our seats. We were then guided to our section and warmly greeted by the host. The service throughout the evening was great. It started with a selection of soft drinks, followed by garlic bread, tomato-based soup, a quarter chicken, potatoes, and corn. Another server came by to take our adult drink orders, and there was a fun variety of souvenir cups available to take home. The show itself was very impressive, featuring dramatic lighting, storytelling, acrobatics, exciting dueling stunts, and a beautiful flying falcon display. I absolutely loved seeing the elaborate costumes worn by the guests and all the festive accessories that added to the atmosphere. Dessert included a piece of cake and a Boston cream pastry. Unfortunately, I was already way too full to really enjoy dessert, but I'll plan better next time! Our photos we took at the beginning of evening were brought to our seats before end of show, which was a nice touch. After the show, there were plenty of photo-op areas to take advantage of. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend Medieval Times for couples, celebrations, or anyone looking to get out and do something fun and different. It was a memorable experience, and we'd happily go again!

But, hands def get dirty! I'd done VIP and general admissions. First time: perhaps fun for a little extra perk like sit closer and get a cheap little banner to wave in the air or the group photo. General admission: you can still see everything and food is the same. Just back a row or two. *an upgraded option does give you cake and it is not much better than the eclair* When you come in and grab a drink waiting to enter the arena, they force you to buy an overpriced souvenir cup for any beverage you get (alcohol or non-alcohol). When you sit down for the show, you do get offered lemonade, Pepsi, or water in their cups (no cup fee). 25oz mug w beer $25 $15 light up plastic glass w slurpee for minor (possibly around 12oz) I gave it four because I think you should be able to buy a cocktail without being forced to buy an overpriced cup. The server was super sweet but def seemed overwhelmed but she handled it well. At the end they expect a $5-10 tip per person ($5 for kid). On top of the already $80 bucks). This seems a bit much for an overwhelmed server slapping your 6 items on your plate from her massive serving tray (drink, bread, tomato soup, chicken corn/potato, and a little eclair (seemed like those cheap little frozen ones from the grocery). They should hire a server per row.

I saw first hand her level of professionalism and her working knowledge of surviving in show business, more importantly, how to survive 8 shows a week of high modern-aged belting. In the years since, I have encountered (auditions or on stage) several of Kelli's students and been thorough amazed. They display great poise, investment in their craft, and in some, a greater depth of feeling than their young years should provide. Several are working professionally. One just closed in a starring role on Broadway. Everyone has a voice. If that were enough, the stars would fill the airwaves. Unfortunately, getting from studio to the stage door entrance takes hard work and frankly, a great deal of insider knowledge.
