I've been coming to Dr. Li for over a year now and I would definitely recommend acupuncture to anyone dealing with pain or inflammation! Acupuncture has helped me manage my chronic inflammation and is a very relaxing experience. I don't have an aversion to needles but if you do and are curious to try it just know you really don't experience any pain or discomfort. This is my first time trying acupuncture treatment. I've been coming for about 6 weeks now and started with 2x/week to treat my enlarged thyroid nodules, poor sleep, and slow metabolism. Dr. Li is a gem. She is well studied in both Western and Eastern medicine and has worked extensively in the Cedar Sini network so is aware of how insurance company works and knows how to bill which is important to me as I am in the industry. She is a brilliant acupuncturist and down to earth. She takes time to listen and diagnose. She cured my messed up crappy legs in 3 sessions which would have taken 6 months of physiotherapy. Currently I just started chemo for my 4th bout with cancer and I could not make it without her supporting me through my chemo. This woman is amazing. I am so happy to go back to Dr. Li - we took a break during the COVID years and didnt go anywhere. My body was struggling badly without Dr.Li because I struggle with TMJ which causes severe neck jaw, and pain shoulder pain and I have seriously tried everything from pain management shots, dental appliances, physical therapy, chiropractic services, deep tissue massages. There has been nothing that's made me feel better than 1 hour with Dr. Li. I was so tired of spending $200 a doctors visit for someone to breathe on me and tell me there's nothing wrong with me or dismissively suggest pain killers when there is clearly something wrong with my body. I tried acupuncture before but my first acupuncturist was not experienced and I did not see results. I am so happy I gave it a second try with Dr. Li. She now serves my family - last week my boyfriend came in with horrible pain all over his legs and knees that we could not get rid of with just our massage gun. I had to drive him to the appointment because he could not even walk. After ONE session with Dr. Li he was able to walk without severe pain!! My parents go next week to try acupuncture for the first time - keep in mind my family works in the western medicine field and have received no relief. I had to write this review. I've never had acupuncture before. I didn't think it would work. I was the ultimate skeptic. I've been to AMC Dragon Acupuncture three times. Every single time, I leave this place feeling a huge improvement. I've had chronic lower back pain for decades from my time spent in the Marine Corps. Dr. Li asked detailed questions, made her assessment, then administered the acupuncture treatment. She also included cupping. On a 100 rating scale of where my back pain was, it's now at about 50%. I'm writing this review in the hopes that my wife's experience with Dr. Li will be helpful for anyone suffering with eczema or auto immune disorders. My wife has suffered with eczema on and off her entire life, but it got notably worse this past year due to travels and emotional stress. We had first tried intense colon cleansing with hydrotherapy and supplements which were prescribed to her by an allergist in western medicine. While this seemed to help at first, it ended up making her condition worse. She got hives all over her body and would wake up with flare ups several times a night. This lasted a couple months. After doing our own research we came across some articles that said that acupuncture could be helpful in treating these conditions. Although we were skeptical at first (even though we were familiar with acupuncture) we decided to give it a try. We chose Dr. Li because of her good yelp reviews and reasonable fee. Despite our initial doubts, each treatment with Dr. Li really seemed to help. Her immune system was in an overactive state and each treatment really seemed to help calm that down. She had cuppings placed on her back and needles placed in different acupressure points on her arms and legs. By the time she received her fourth treatment she was no longer suffering from the intense itching and overnight flare ups that had been ongoing. I should note that my wife started a specific diet (lectin free) around the same time we started seeing Dr. Li to help treat her symptoms in the longterm. While the diet helped as well, it was very clear to us that her treatments were extremely helpful, with her symptoms subsiding every visit. She was no longer itching all day and was able to sleep through the night. I also appreciated that Dr. Li really listened to my wife and took everything she said seriously. In the past people would listen to part of what she said and sort of dismiss other things that perhaps didn't make sense or that they didn't agree with. Dr. Li really took all my wife's concerns seriously. I know that everyone is different and what works for one person doesn't always work for someone else. I'm very pleased with Dr. Li. I have bels palsy for over 60 years and recently have high eye pressure. After even the first session I saw and felt the difference. Saw Dr Li years ago... all I can say is that she fixed my insomnia and I was able to sleep again like normal, she also helped me with my bloating symptoms, many other side effects I had from a bad reaction to prescription medicine... and she also fixed my chronic migraines, neck pain and leg cramping. I had chronic neck pain for maybe 10 plus years and it's basically gone. Chiropractic never really fixed my problems. Same with the migraines. I know she worked on me for a while but when she was done I was back to my normal happy self and pain free. I do not recommended this place for anyone. I went there because there were mostly positive reviews but it was definitely not positive for me. The place is run down and not very clean. I had back pain and after the treatment it was relieved but returned within two days. My visit cost almost $200 and they told me I had to pay upfront and then submit to my insurance. They then said that if my insurance covered the services that they would reimburse me. When the time came that my insurance told me my portion of the visit should have been $47 and I needed to get reimbursed by the office, they did not like that at all. This "doctor" Li got very rude with me and raising her voice and saying I was trying to get a free treatment and then decided she didn't want to speak to me anymore. The guy at the front desk got on the phone and told me they would reimburse me $45. My insurance company told me to file something against them but as I am having other health issues, I decided to let it go and just take the $45 even though I should have received at least twice that much. Beware of this place and their overcharging and bad attitudes. read more

I am simply amazed with acupuncture!!! I've been having awful nerve pain (sciatica) as well as some nerve pain next to knee on my other leg for over a month now. I literally can't sit for too long because that's when the pain really flares up. I went to see a GP and of course she just prescribed me meds that don't work. I was researching where else I could go for the pain and came across an acupuncturist in SCV. I had a great experience 20 years ago when it cured me of my daily body hives that I got for an entire year. So I called and made an appointment. Literally after one session, my pain is GONE!! Last year I started feeling burnout likely related to work, stress and anxiety causing me to feel lightheaded, loss of concentration and feeling off balanced at times. After several doctor visits and lab work, doctors were not able to pinpoint my symptoms to anything significant and so at the suggestion of my PCP, I went ahead and tried Acupuncture. Since I've never done Acupuncture before I did not know what to expect, I tried a couple places but I didn't see much progress. I stumbled upon AMC Dragon Acupuncture during one of my dental visit which is located on the same floor. I had a good first impression of the clinic. The environment is is clean and the front office staff is efficient in scheduling and getting me going for my sessions. Dr Li took time to go over my lab results and assured me that she will help get me feeling better and created an action plan for my treatments. In addition, Dr Li recommended I take some Chinese herbal supplements to compliment my treatment plan. After 7 sessions with Dr Li, I have noticed an improvement in my day-to-day function and will take it as a positive sign that I'm on my way to full recovery. When discussing what happened at my appointment, he tried making every excuse why I was treated the way I was. He asked me several times to remove my review. I feel the way in which I was treated should be known to others.........I would want to know if they treated a prior patient in this manner. . What a difference acupuncture & cupping makes! I came to see Dr. Li because ever since I had my mastectomy 8 months ago I've been suffering from tightness, pain & swelling around my surgery site. She recommended that I come twice a week. This is my review after my 1st week of therapy. I'll start w/ the office space. It's located in the same complex as UEI college. During the day, parking can be packed but there are usually spaces reserved for the offices & they validate parking. My past 2 visits, there is always a pleasant smell upon entering. She shares the space with a chiropractor (I might hit him up next). There is a water dispenser & complimentary coffee. The rooms are very clean and although you can see out of the windows, they are tinted. My acupuncture session takes about 45 minutes & is followed w/30 minutes of cupping. The first time I went in my scar tissue was so tough that some of the needles needed more help getting in which caused a tiny bit of pain but once they were in she put a heater over the area, turned off the lights & told me to relax. She came back, took out the needles then lit a match inside various sized glass jars and had them suction onto the site & let them stay for 30 min. By the time I came back for my 2nd session the swelling, pain & tightness has gotten better & it was easier for her to get the needles into the scar tissue. I am so excited by my new discovery & Dr. Li is amazing!!! I highly recommend giving acupuncture a try if you never have. It can help with stress, pain management, weight loss, the list goes on. She does except insurance but if you don't have it she has different price packages & will work with you on what you can afford. Looking forward to next week! read more

My 13 years son had extremely severe headache for a few months due to unknown reason. He was consuming significant number of pain killing medications to reduce the pain. His lifetime pediatrician couldn't propose any treatment besides referring to Neurologist due to the fact that his head MRIs couldn't show anything abnormal. If you feel that your specific health condition requires or demands a deeper measure of expertise (or if that is your initial preference), feel free to continue reading below. * Keen Diagnostic Skill It was interesting to see Dr. Li perform medical face reading (fading diagnostic method), a traditional, authentic component of Chinese medicine (obvious ones being pulse and tongue diagnosis). Though I came in highly concerned about an abnormal, continuous right eye twitch, she made some inquisitive, passing comments about my acne scars, and the veins on my temples (didn't notice myself) which she said indicated a history of headaches. Though I don't know the clinical significance or relevancy of these observations, the last part was true. * Extensive Point Selection Most acupuncturists I visited for my eye condition placed needles in the arm/leg/face area (as did Dr. Li). But Dr. Li was the first who seemed confident enough to insert needles around my eye socket in the localized, troubled area (yes, around my eyes). Additional visits included needles inserted around my stomach area as well. Two weeks later, Dr Li was finally able to stop the odd, uncomfortable right eye twitch that the previous acupuncturists couldn't carry out. I can't explain (and don't know) how/why the results were different, but just that the unusual problem got fixed and taken care of. * In-depth Training & Seasoned Experience The general public may not be acutely aware of the difference in training a U.S. acupuncturist receives relative to one in China. While a completion of a 3/4-year U.S. acupuncture program (3,300 + hours) and passage of a national/state licensing exam would suffice to put up a shingle, the rigorous and extensive training one receives in China shouldn't be overlooked (5,000+ hours, 5 years, study of both Chinese and Western medicine as they are referred to as Chinese medical doctors, additional 3-4 years post-graduate residency training). In addition to the extensive education that Dr. Li received in China, its nice knowing she extended her post graduate training in both Chinese (Samra University) and Western (UCLA, USC, Cedar-Sinai Hospital) medicine here in the States. Being able to articulate an acupuncture treatment through the lens of Western medical eyes, and to be flexible enough to navigate through two medical worlds to offer specialized knowledge and recommendations, is a rare luxury that many acupuncturists cannot provide and offer to their patients. In the end, while there are other acupuncturists in the Valley who may realize a competent outcome with their patients, if you truly and genuinely feel that your health is really worth it, remember to keep Dr. Li on your short list. read more

I've been seeing an acupuncturist for different ailments for the last 20 years. I can count on one hand those that have made an impact on me. Dr Li isn't just an acupuncturist, she is a doctor of Oriental Medicine and it makes a world of difference in her approach to treatment and her ability to pinpoint imbalances. I came to her for anxiety and panic attacks, within one treatment I could tell she was very comfortable with my condition and had a clear plan on how to improve my symptoms. I didn't mention to her that I have tinnitus since I've had the condition for over 18 years (too many concerts). The audible sound was lower after the first treatment, that has never happened and I've been told multiple times that it is not possible. It later returned, but the fact that it even dropped really intrigued me and helped me know that my body was reacting to treatment. My anxiety improved, I'm still seeking treatment with her as well as therapy with another provider.
