So I am pleasantly surprised at this AMC location. FREE parking and plenty of it. I do wish more of the screens had more of the comfortable chairs found at other cinemas, but overall customer service is friendly, many movie options, and excellent rewards program. Enjoy popcorn and grab a cocktail. The bar can be pricey. Cheers and enjoy your movie. read more

The worst experience ever !!!! I took my kid to the movie at AMC Gulf Point 30 to watch minions . The movie was scheduled to start at 11 pm the movie did not start till 11:40pm when the movie finally started it kept freezing. I had to advise a manager twice . I finally requested my money back . They refunded tall the money accept for the 9.00 Courtesy fee for purchasing the tickets online . Then I told the manager what about my concession fee of all the food that I purchased . She refund my concession fee for the food I had purchased. Then instead of a refund she changed my card again . I was so upset . She then refunded my card again. Never once apologizing for making that mistake. Then as I was leaving the manager of AMC theater stuck the middle finder at me in front of my kids .... She refused to give me the District manager phone # or email address . She would only prove his name. My daughter is only 10 yrs old ... how could you be in that position acting so inappropriate in front of children!!!! read more

Bought my tickets online for the nice recliner leather seats. Came to the movies, skipped the ticket booth and went straight in. They scanned my ticket from my phone with the AMC app I downloaded and easy as that, I was in. The recliner seats are much comfortable and best part is there's a wall behind you so you don't have to see, hear, or feel that annoying someone who will always put their feet behind your seat. read more

How hard is it to start 20 minutes of movie trailers on time? I'm sure this means I'll be sitting in rush hour traffic after the movie instead of what should be a leisurely drive home. And oh, I paid for my ticket at the kiosk out front, and had to wait in line behind ticket purchasers before someone would take my ticket stub. Little quibble there, but they really should start movies when they say they will - and yet they NEVER do. I'm pretty confused on why a movie theater would not have an ATM you have a bar but not an ATM, kinda odd to me. So my awesome credit union has a very great feature called cardkeeper which locks your cards from use and for some reason i believe there is a nightly system update that occurs (maybe) but I could not unlock my card and could not pay for my son and I to see Daddy's Home 2... Had to leave and find a nearby bank because you can only use the ATM when your card is locked. Ok great now we are late for the showing Thank God for previews right. I was ready to give a 3 star review for the long wait in snack line, limited options and lack of ATM but the saving grace was the bar tender made the Forbidden Fruit mixed drink into a frozen drink for me and I was now happy watching the hilarious Daddy's Home 2. Not sure I would choose this Cinema again though unless like in this situation it was the only location showing the movie at the time which worked for me. read more

I consider myself a cinephile and have seen movies in every theatre near and in the Houston area. I am partial to this particular theatre for several reasons. Location, customer service, quality of food and drink, and overall cleanliness. I also like that in addition to having regular screenings this location also offers both an IMAX projection and a Dolby Cinema screen. There is plenty of handicap parking. I saw every single Harry Potter film here with my son and I have brought friends and family members here throughout the years. I highly recommend their Icees! read more

It's been a few months since we've been to this theater, but we came today to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 at a 3 pm showing. The parking lot was not full. The electronic self-service ticket machines have not been maintained. We tried 3, and when the third finally processed our payment, it couldn't print our tickets. We needed up going to the ticket counter to get our tickets, and shared that we had to use 3 machines. Needless to say, they didn't care. The drink area was not stocked up with cup lids even though there were 3 employees standing around in the front of the building. It's apparent no one cares about doing their jobs, or doing them well. This is the last time I'll return to this theater. read more

Not bad but dang, $19.99 for two large sodas and a large popcorn?! Holy cow! I know there are free refills but dang! That's ridiculous!! They don't have a kiosk inside, so if you buy your tickets online, you have to pick them up at the ticket booth outside. We got inside and got our ridiculously expensive popcorn and drinks and the sound and picture were fine, but what is up with people talking throughout the whole freaking movie?! It was really brought home to me why I just don't go to the movie theater anymore...too expensive and the people are just too rude. read more

The seats don't recline at all and are somewhat uncomfortable. You can't reserve your seats either. Good thing is is there is a lot of theaters and they usually aren't packed so we can see movies that are full at other theaters. Over all an ok experience. read more

I usually only frequent Alamo Drafthouse, Star Cinema Grill and River Oaks. After the other night I received a slap in the face reminder on why I don't go to these big theaters. First off no student pricing, one of the only reasons I have held on to my college ID, they on do it on Thursdays. Boo. At $9.75 a ticket, it makes me feel like waiting and RedBoxing it. We saw Avengers opening weekend, on a Sunday. We drove down to Star Cinema first, but they were sold out. We didn't want to waste the trip so we hit up this AMC. We were a good hour early and the line was already forming all the way back to the side concession stand and doubling back creating on slue of arguments of whose behind who. It took them 5 minutes before the movie started to finally let everyone sit down. I don't know what took them so long the chairs and floors were still covered in popcorn and milkduds. The biggest reason we don't go to these big theaters is that they always come with "baby in stereo." The visit was not lacking. There were at least five difference babies crying and one directly in front of us, with the parents constantly arguing about who had to take her outside. Who takes a newborn to a loud movie? I think we got the jest of the movie, it just could have used less babies and ring tones. Thank you AMC for the reminder of why the "dinner and a movie theaters" are much better. At least if things are going to be this bad I should be offered a beer. read more

We were super worried about coming here after reading the reviews. We purchased our tickets online before knowing anything. It's definitely old. Concessions does have all the snacks and drinks if you want them. We were in imax 17 at 10am and we were the only ones here for the show. Seats and theater seemed clean for the most part. No trash. Seats do have stains- we moved around until we found two we liked. My husband talked to one of the workers who said it is quiet in the mornings but does get packed and crazy busy at night. They have upgraded features which include a bar and an extended food menu. I went on Saturday around 1pm and I was bracing myself for the over abundance of loose teens running around. There were none. It was actually pretty empty. We bought our tickets and sat at the bar and watched football until our movie started. I can't say if the drinks were good becuase we didn't order any but i can say they had a wide variety of options. They had a full bar with top shelf liquors such as Ciroc and Grey Goose. My bf ordered the chicken sliders and fries and I ordered the two hot dog combo. Our food totaled a little over $30 but that's to be expected in the movies. It wasn't worth it though. The chicken sliders tasted microwaved and the fries were bland. The theatre was clean. read more

This movie Theater seriously needs to fire all management! There are screens outside to buy tickets but none of them work and these are brand new. So we get in line to buy tickets and only one person behind the counter. Looking around this place is dirty outside. Inside there is a long line for popcorn and if it was just me I wouldn't buy any but I am with my little kids. Once we got to sit down the floors were really sticky, there was still popcorn and trash from the previous showing. I will be taking my kids to the other movie theaters, this place should just become a dollar theater. Oh and in the restroom only one stall was working, the other two was broken. It's the closest IMAX to my location. The concession area is incredibly slow, lines are always long and food is just expensive. So don't come hungry. You can get the stubs rewards but unless your always spending money to come to the theatre then it's not worth the 12$ annual fee. The bathrooms are usually dirty and the floors are always dirty and sticky. I don't feel they have very good customer service so maybe training is in need. Could it be management that is letting this place get run down? Possibly, but it could be a better theatre. read more

The theatre used to have ticket machines right inside the doors which was great - self serve and out of the heat. But they moved them outside. To offset that they put in an area you can purchase liquor so I guess that's a slight improvement. It's a larger theatre so with that comes more people and more chances to be annoyed. Me + liquor + annoyed at idiots acting up in a theatre doesn't = a good time for anyone. So there's that craziness to deal with. Kids run around going from movie to movie which I used to do at their age too but dang it - I know I wasn't that much of an idiot back then. I'm pretty sure - well 55% sure. The ticket cost is double that of Hollywood but the seats are way more comfortable and theatre is cleaner. When I want a quick movie with less annoyance I choose Hollywood but when I want more comfort then I choose this theatre. The earlier the better because 1) I won't be drinking super early 2) less people 3) happy me! read more

Nothing special about this movie theater It has 30 screens. Friday is flocked with middle schoolers that have nothing else to do. Saturday is raided by gansta or wangsta whatever you wanna call them, bad night for adults, these kids tends to talk during the showing. Sunday is the family day. The pizza & cheese sticks are a good alternative to the typical hotdog or nachos. My favorite is the variety of icees though The seats are comfortable, the audio & picture quality are great. This is our go-to theater, but only because it's less than a minute drive from our house. If it's a movie where we really want a great experience, we will suck it up and drive to a Studio Movie Grille. Know what you will be getting at this theater, which is very standard, and in some respects, below standard. As far as cleanliness goes, the restrooms are almost always dirty. And never once have I actually seen anyone in there cleaning them, or that they were closed for cleaning. I get that with as many people that cycle in and out of the theater, keeping them sparkling clean would be near-impossible. But it seems like a general lack of effort in this case. The theater rooms themselves aren't bad, and I've never experienced the popcorn-strewn floors that other reviewers have mentioned. High school kids are the only ones employed here it seems, and that explains the snails-pace service (and perhaps the cleanliness level overall). I can't comment on the theater food, as we never really get anything from concessions. The drinks at the bar are decent, depending on what you get...and if you don't mind paying ten bucks for a beer. I used to enjoy going to theater much more than what I do now, mainly because it seems like the absolute dregs come out of the woodwork - and that applies to almost all movie theaters, not just this one. The following scenario is something that I have almost come to expect: a near-empty theater, we take our seats about halfway up, in the middle of the row. Two very tall people carrying every concession imaginable will invariably take the seats right below us (in spite of the fact that the entire theater is fair game), and proceed to chomp and munch distractingly, playing on their flashlight-bright phones throughout most of the movie. Anyway, to get back on track, as long as you know what to expect, AMC Gulf Pointe 30 isn't awful. If you want something a little fancier, a little nicer, a little...cleaner, consider an alternative. read more

Lie-max.... disappointing. So I decided to check out Harry Potter in IMAX today, man I was in for a rude awakening. I was not impressed what so ever, the screen is SMALL, the theaters at Edwards grand palace and AMC 30 on dunvale have screens as big or even bigger. The clarity was impressive, liemax is powered by DLP projectors which made the movie look really nice and high def, but I'll take the true larger than life IMAX at the marquee any day. Also the sound was also quite weak. Surround effects were nice and very dynamic, but the Marquee destroys it in pure loudness. read more

I have been coming here since 1997 when it first opened and was one of the first chain of cinemas to feature stadium style seating in the Houston area. So I can certainly tell you that my review is is a reflection of being a customer of AMC for a very long time. I will start with the ticket process. You can wait at box office, order at kiosk with cc or order online and pick up. The concessions are pricey, they have added more (food) to the selection. Also recently they serve alcohol from their in house bar McGuffins. Now for the movie screens. Screens 14,15,16 and 17 are the largest and are usually for the more popular 1st run movies with #17 being dedicated for IMAX 3D only. You will pay a premium to see these. Tkts for 2 will set you back $25.00 plus. I give three stars because they can certainly do some upgrading and renovation to the decor and auditoriums. Overall it is a decent place to see a movie. read more

One thing that has pissed me off numerous times here with both the adults and kids that go here. There seems to be a Tard with every show at this theater. Constant loud talking and opening up their cell phones to text. I almost got into a fight with 5 older guys because they were laughing arradically and loudly at scenes that weren't even funny. Then they would talk about it like they were sitting in their own living rooms. What the F is wrong with some people? So at the end of the movie I kindly relayed a few choice words that made the closing credits a little NC-17 Rated. read more

It's a good place and you can buy tickets in advance through the app and it's very easy, however the lines to buy the food are huge and slow and having a studio movie grill close to them, I will prefer that the server take me my food instead to be doing a line, good place if you like lines and the IMAX screen it's amazing but a lot of seats so it's kind of crowded, avoid this if your are claustrophobic. read more

Attempted to go to this theater on Wednesday night but were told that they were only accepting cash. Their registers and machines were down so they couldn't take charge cards or vouchers. Decided to leave and come back the next day. Went back, everything was fine, our vouchers were taken with no problems. Sat in a theater that looked like it had been updated. All the seats were really comfortable and it was spotless. Not sure if there had been a movie in that theater before us but it was really clean. Kind of blew my mind when we went in. Normally, most theaters are gross. After the movie, went to the bathroom and discovered that half of the locks in the girls room had been stolen. WTF? I tried 6 different stalls and all 6 had no locks. Not even broken ones but none whatsoever. Not the greatest theater I've been to but I've definitely been to worse. Also, there were TONS of cops all over the place here. Not sure if it's because of car robberies or just rowdy punk kids that other reviewers mentioned but definitely didn't have a lack of security the night we went. read more

This theater is past it's prime. At $9+ per ticket, I would expect the theaters to at least be nice, if not clean, but you get neither here. If I'm spending that kind of money on a movie ticket, I'd rather go to the Cinemark in Webster. That theater is much nicer and cleaner. Be VERY careful where you park your car, I know several people who have had thier cars broken into in the AMC parking lot. Hide all valuables and park out front - the sides of the theater are the most prone to break-ins. read more
