Star Cinema is now my go-to cinema when I want more than just a movie experience. My overall experience here is luxury, cozy, family-oriented, and date-night fun. I highly recommend using the heated option in their reclining seats because the theaters can get cold, and bring a blanket to get even more cozy. The one thing I would change is how close the tables get to the seats. They're not as close enough, and while I'm eating, I have to sit up a bit to reach my food. Not fun. I press the button to order my food the moment I'm seated. I usually know what I'm ordering before I get to the theater. I prefer to receive my food when the movie first begins so that I'm done eating and can enjoy the rest of the show. The service is usually fast and responsive. If it's busy, you may have to press the button to remind them that you're waiting for something you've asked for. However, they are the most professional servers I've experienced at a dine-in theater, and I've been to many. Not only am I a movie buff at heart, but I also enjoy a good movie and dinner moment. I usually order the Mission Impossible, which is their meatless burger. It's good and one of the best I've had. I also like Chicken Run. It's a substantial serving of chicken - grilled or fried on a brioche bun with pickles and a delicious, tender sauce. It's so good. Another favorite is their fried pickles, which aren't shaped like chips but more so the whole pickle fried to perfection. If you like mocktails, you'll enjoy their Mockjito. It's sparkly and refreshing and pairs well with their Margarita Flatbread. Their House Sangria is filled with fruit and very, very refreshing. The theaters are spotless, and so are the restrooms. The seats are comfy, and the quality of the screens is top-notch. My sweetheart and I are big cinephiles, and ever since we subscribed to the Director's Club a few months ago, we have visited Star Cinema at least once a week. Sometimes more. The seats are truly comfortable, and the blankets are a nice touch. The food is consistently good - my favorites are the Chicken Caesar Wrap and the Love Me Tenders, which are surprisingly well seasoned. You can't go wrong with the warm brownie + ice cream either. I am taking away one star for two reasons: 1) service is always hit or miss. Just the other day, we were 30 minutes into the movie and they still had not brought me water. I pressed the call button three times, patiently waiting, and finally decided to get up and get the water myself. and 2) their popcorn is just not great, and that is disappointing. You can buy directly at their box office or buy online. Walking in, you'll notice how nice and clean this place is. The lobby gives off an old school upscale vibe with an amazing bar and lounge area. Also you can't miss the big beautiful chandeliers. They grabbed my attention immediately. Customer service was fantastic from the entry as well when I took my seat to watch my movie. Quick and friendly. I ended up watching flight risk which was a good movie but the food. Mmmmmm yummy, I ordered the quesadillas with grilled chicken and when I say it was made to perfection, I mean made to PERFECTION. Chef kiss to the cooks. I mean my stomach actually didn't hurt after the movie lol. The seating was good, but the only thing I wish was if the seats could lean back a little more. Other than that, I had no issues here. The cleanliness of the theater surprised me. From the lobby to the restrooms etc. They definitely take care of their theater. Let's just say that. Overall experience 10 out of 10. Recently went to Star cinema grill for the first time to watch Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. Very nicely kept and clean. The atmosphere when walking in was welcoming. Very friendly workers and received great service. Went around lunch time on a Tuesday afternoon. Didn't order any of the food but the menu had a nice verity of options. I asked for Honey mustard instead of Ranch, waiter brought out with Ranch and I used my girlfriends and he brought her one also when he realized their mistake but charged us for two sides of Honey mustard. We were never told there was a charge for the Honey mustard. The other waiter who brought the food put my girlfriend's food on my table and when we said that was hers he still left it on my table and put the napkins on top of her food. No disrespect to Cinemark 18, but I think I found another theater to catch the latest flicks. Star Cinema Grill is primo when it comes to the dinner and a show experience. The purported successor to the defunct District Theaters that was a mile or so down the road at NASA Road 1 and 45, SCG is a well maintained venue with comfortable seats, a lobby that rivals that of any five-star hotel, nice restrooms, amazing service, and one of the best hot dogs I've ever eaten. That's right. What's basically simple ballpark and backyard fare the kitchen staff here made close to gourmet. Yellow mustard, red onion, and pickle relish may sound basic, but trust, the trio of ingredients brought out the best in the tube steak. I had the accompanying fries upgraded from plain to loaded a la baked potato for a buck more. As for what I watched here: Cocaine Bear. Before the feature presentation, I saw the trailer for The Pope's Exorcist. I normally don't do horror, but I want to come back for that one. read more

I used to love coming here with my kids, but this place has really fallen apart. 1. It is FREEZING in the theater. I like a cold movie theater, especially August. But I had both arms inside my shirt and I was shivering. 2. It took almost an hour to get our food and it arrived cold. Hot appetizers and Burgers served stone cold? 3. Never again. Searched my daughter's bag for "food, firearms, and or recording devices" simply because she brought a shoulder bag to hold her blanket and personal belongings. I've never been in a dirty theater here and service is always quick and friendly. Food wise, they have a quite the selection with catchy movie inspired names. My personal favorite is the Nachos Libre. There's something about the nachos here that just hit differently. It's a huge pile of perfectly layered nachos with a protein of your choice. The only downfall is that it is dark in the theaters and this meal can be messy. I typically fork my way through it. I've had other options on the menu as well and can't say that I've had anything bad. I always prefer a theater like this where you can watch your movie while having full service food and drinks available. Check it out if you're in the area. I know I will be back! read more

First, this theater's policy is that no one under 18 is allowed in without someone over 18, even if they are 15 or over and the movie is rated for their age. That is a ridiculous policy in my opinion. Second, their seats never work. I've been to over 20 movies here and not once has the chair functioned properly. I finally found a theater that I like. Went to go see Avatar last night and got the pod seats. It definitely is worth the extra money for the comfort. The seats recline and I like the privacy that you can't see your neighbor. Plus the blankets! They have a full bar and full menu. These seats come with a small complimentary popcorn. The servers come quickly when you push the button to order and the kitchen is fast too. Most importantly, the theater was clean when we walked in! Not having to clean up after someone else's mess should be a standard but these days it's hard to come by. The bathroom was clean also. I've gone here several times and the past two times, the service for the food was not good. 1st time there were problems, they got my food wrong 3 times in a row and forgot to bring out another food item. The second time, my order was placed 5 minutes into the movie and didn't receive my food until 45 minutes into the movie. I pressed the button to get someone's attention and a red curly headed girl and another girl talked to me like I was the problem when I brought up the issue. I asked for a manager and I didn't get anybody to come to me. Whoever the manager is - if they even have one, is very non-confrontational. The first time I had problems here like I previously said, the couple two seats next to us also had a problem with her food being cold. The waiter came back and said "so the manager said..." Why does the manager not properly come to the customer themselves and resolve it as they should! So weird, why have a manager if they are not going to manage. Unfortunately, as much as I love the location, the movies that are played, and the food TASTING good, I do not plan on coming back here due to the service. P.S. the past few times I've come here, there's always been loud people, people who have swapped seats several times throughout the movie, people literally playing TikTok out loud during the movie. Top tier one of the best movie location that I have been too.. inside the Theatre is nice, clean and kept. The seats recline back and the leg rest comes up so you can get extremely comfortable. Came with a group to watch Wakanda Forever and it was such a great experience. The service was definitely on point and the food was amazing. Went to see The Little Mermaid with the family. Bought tickets online 3 adults, 1 child 54.00. (Matinee) The movie theatre is quite beautiful. The seats were so comfortable reclining and heated. We ordered food, someone had a hotdog and French fries and a slurpee. (The 5 year old) I had the quesadilla's which were tasty. Someone had the Brussel sprouts, said they were delish, the next person had egg-rolls which they enjoyed. A couple of us had a cocktail. Several had popcorn. Food bill with tip was about $140.00. So right at 200.00 for the 4 of us. Service was great. It was really a fun experience for $50.00 a piece for a show and a meal. Probably would go next time and eat before hand. The volume in this movie theater is overwhelming loud , making it difficult to enjoy the film.

I've never had an issue here, but I also need to go more to have abundant experiences there. However, from the experiences that I do have, they've all been wonderful. The food is always super delicious and the alcoholic drinks are too! The alcoholic drinks are not really strong so if you're into that, there you go! I haven't had any issues with the people working there either, but there are always going to be the types of workers that give back attitude for no reason, anywhere you go. Regardless, I haven't had any issues with the workers ever since I went when the mall went under construction. The environment feels very high-end and well-designed! It's a real cute place to have dates too! The pods where you have to pay extra are absolutely worth it, but be ready to spend at least $50 if you're spending on food and drinks (not including the movie tickets). read more

Very nice theater. The restroom was really clean. As soon as you leave a stall there is a house mom following in to clean it. The theater itself was fairly clean. The service was ok. However, I had the Classic burger and it was really good. The toppings (lettuce, tomato, etc) was really fresh. I also tried the Chicken Sandwich (can't remember the exact name) but it was good and fresh as well. Fries were really crispy. The movie speakers weren't too loud. I went to a special showing at this location on Saturday July 15, 2022. The showing was good and the food was great. When I looked at my bill I noticed a gratuity had been added to my bill. I went to see the manager "a Karen". Before I was able to finish my 2nd sentence she blurted out "I'm not taking the gratuity off." I started to tell her I would dispute the charge but she walked away. I do NOT recommend this location to anyone! Your hard earned $ is going to support poor to non existent management. We visited Star Cinema Grill during spring break and have continued to visit regularly. This theater is located in the outside area of Baybrook Mall so there is ample parking all around. We like to park in the back parking lot and walk via a spacious corridor. We purchased our tickets using their free APP with ease. The pricing is excellent compared to other places. The hostess was very welcoming. She scanned our QR code and let us know where to go. If you arrive early there is a spacious bar and table area where you can sit. Everything was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bar tender was prompt with our food and snacks. We waited to order a more substantial meal until we were inside the auditorium. Everyone was very friendly. We will continue to make this our preferred place to visit to enjoy movies. read more

very shitty experience with the boss Gail. I'm a deaf individual and require closed captions or accommodations for any theatre experience. My deafness is profound and while I do wear hearing aids, I can only hear 20% of what a normal person with hearing aids due to how profound my deafness is. My husband is hearing and we went to the baybrook location on Saturday evening to enjoy Alien: Romulus. When I approached the front desk with my husband he got our tickets scanned through the app by the boss Gail. My husband asked about closed captions devices Gail scoffed and told him "yeah we don't carry those. you need to go somewhere else." It wasn't a big deal I could sit in the movie still and just watch it and ask my husband what was happening. My husband asked "Is there anyway we can refund the tickets?" She scoffed said no, we still didn't really care and just wanted to see the movie or find another location that did offer deaf accommodations. We stood off to the side to find another theatre but it was too late into the evening to find another showing and drive to the location on time, so we went back up and my husband said we'd still like to see it he'll just translate it during the movie. She told the front employees to go ahead and validate our tickets again, but she needed to speak to someone. She came back and said to my husband that she thinks him translating would be too much of a distraction and nuisance to the people around us. We were not let in, nor did we get a refund because it was the same time of our movie. My husband asked Gail to speak to a manager and she rudely told him "IM THE BOSS. what I say goes, so‍" We were shocked. The entire time I was standing there quietly trying to figure out what was going on. My husband had to sign to me most of what she was saying and the seemed extremely annoyed. I can read lips well and what I was reading wasn't nice at all. The entire time we were polite and patient, so I have no idea why she raised her voice at my husband over ADA accommodations/auxillary aids most movie theaters are required to have. This is definitely a discriminatory act against disabled people and it wasn't until speaking to a rep that we found out that they do have closed caption devices, she probably didn't want to set them up before and after the movie.
