Went to this location twice, thought since it was pretty new it would be a great experience. Machines three off them didn't work when trying to buy tickets so had to go inside to get them it took a while for someone to come help. Then they were rude barely looked up at me at all was talking down the whole time and then a coworker walked up and they started chatting completely forgetting we are standing there waiting, finally gave us our tickets. Went to our theater room and it was still dirty popcorn all under the seats and some trash though out. The seats that we chose were a bit sticky Lucky I had wipes. The movie Quality was good. We decided to go on another time again to this theater because it's convenient, thought it can't be that bad again.... Was wrong All the womans bathrooms had no toilet paper! It was easier to buy the tickets this time through the machines outside ,went in again went to our seats and again it was dirty I don't think that they're cleaning them the way they should be there was popcorn left all over the place all under the seats as you're walking up to your seating area you can see the trash under the seats and between. It was very disappointing I don't think I'll be going back to this one again. For it being a new location and kinda expensive I definitely thought it would be way more cleaner read more

Pros: They have dine-in and will bring food to you. Cons: Seats are comfy unless your butt is kind of wide like mine, make sure your other wide butt friend doesn't sit next to you. I don't like the buttons on the inside panel, my thigh has a mind of it's own and pranks me during the movie. Floors are dirty...The poor staff can't keep up with the mess, makes it unpleasant for the rest of people coming in feeling the greasy arm rests and crab walking around the spilled drinks on the floor. It's like going into an aftermath of a nursery. AMC, may need to hire more peeps at this location to clean up in between shows. Going to give this another go in a week and see if same results. read more

Updated review: it was a nightmare to even find out how to get a hold of this corporation or submit email to discuss feedback. Who knew FB messenger was the way to go? I reached out via messenger and got a response days later. A gift card and drink voucher is being sent to my home address. I was told it can take 7 business days. 7 business days have passed and I'm still waiting. However, this kind gesture doesn't fix the problem, I am happy they're taking my experience in consideration by refunding me. I will not be back. Not sure why there are a bunch of bad reviews since this is a fairly new theater, but the only issue I have is with the availability of some items. Other than that, every time I've gone (morning, afternoon, evening on weekdays and weekends), the counters have been clean at the concession area and soda machines. The restrooms have been clean, and the theaters have been clean with sound and picture calibrated well. I've watched all dolby, IMAX, and standard format at this theater and have not had an issue. read more

So disappointing. Was all giddy watching them build this theater, anticipating their opening for months. COVID hit, family and I followed all recommendations. Nervous about coming back to participate in the outside world, we took a chance and thought why not start by going to this brand new, shiny theater.... Welp, so much for the shiny part. You would think after being shut down for months to avoid transmission of a deadly virus, and not to mention not being able to purchase disinfectants for a very long time, this place would take their sanitation seriously when given the "okay" to open their doors.... Expected too much, I guess (ugh). Thank goodness for Lysol catching up with their demands! Had my own travel size spray and wipes in my purse to clean up after other peoples mess, gross. In addition, I'm not even sure you can call what I purchased from them a "hot dog." It was more like a slim Jim on a bun.... Yeah, gave it two more chances to redeem themselves. Will not be stepping foot in here again. Good luck to everyone else. You gained 3 empty "dirty" seats and a chance to purchase and taste their very expensive slim Jim on a bun. read more

I absolutely love coming to this theater. I love that it's in the mall. I am a A-List a member and my favorite is the IMAX laser. However, I've noticed that the seats don't recline as far back as the other theaters. Second, it's always SOOO hot in there. Both in summer and winter. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here and experiencing the IMAX laser. read more

This is my favorite theater to go to. I never had any bad experiences. The recliner seats are great and it always appears to be clean enough (though I can't see in darkness). The food is always GREAT. Their royal bacon brie burger is one of the best burgers I've had for some reason, it must be the ingredients they use. It's a pricey experience for a day to visit and eat here other than a Tuesday (where tickets are discounted) but it's worth it. Unfortunately my movie experience was soured by the strict adherence to "no outside food, drinks, etc.". While I understand that it's a business, which also sells food and drink, I had planned on purchasing food inside as well. Now I'm stuck with do I buy the food inside (I had advance purchased my tickets), or forfeit the whole outing, and upset my family, too. I have an AMC stubs pass so I go here at least 3x a month since it opened. It didn't take long for the theaters to become messy but I'm sure they're understaffed due to the pandemic so no big deal. My major complaint is that you pay $23 for a single ticket in the "Dolby" room to stare at a screen that has about 4 softball sized dents in it from what I can assume came from some kids but boy is it distracting through the entire movie read more

Would like to start off by saying that my husband and I had our time wasted and literally just got back after going to this AMC location within the last hour (before the movie started) because the theater was extremely unclean and unsanitary. We had purchased advanced tickets for tonight's showing of The Eternals Laser IMAX show, which costs extra for the visual quality/presentation. Needless to say we were very excited for our first official visit to this newly opened AMC. Upon entering the auditorium, I immediately noticed popcorn crumbs on the floor leading to the room like a trail. I immediately began feeling uneasy from the lack of cleanliness from the moment we walked in. As we began walking up the stairs towards our designated seats, there was popcorn and potentially other food(s) all over the floor in front and underneath the seats. I should have taken a picture but I was in shock we proceeded to sit down for the moment. When I glanced slightly to my right side, there is a short wall/divider in front of the leg room (pretty much a wall behind the seats to dived the rows), and on the wall there was a brown smear of something that looked like chocolate from afar but also could have been something else. My cupholder also had some fluid from the drink the previous person had been drinking and the tables overall looked unclean. I moved the tables to the side with my finger immediately as I didn't want to touch the whole surface. I told my husband that I don't think I can sit through such an unsanitary environment for close to 3 hours, plus we paid extra just to have a better experience watching a new movie in a supposedly new movie theater. It was not worth a single penny we spent to be there. Not to mention the room had no a/c and was luke warm. Not a walk in the park when you're trying to enjoy a night out during a pandemic. So we decided to leave and received a "Guest Re-admit Pass" which on the back states "Not valid for special engagements or Enhanced Movie Tickets" which means that if we wanted to go to another AMC location in hopes of an LASER IMAX quality showing like we originally paid for, the voucher won't cover that. Guess we'll have to take the loss! So for those who see other reviews regarding how unclean/unsanitary this location is, be strictly forewarned that they are accurate! The AMC beand for movies have always been great tbh but this theater seems like it could work on just being a bit more clean is my only complain. I always get quick service for concessions and the one time we had a problem with one of the seats after the movie, management was able to comp us a free movie for the inconvenience I would come back and enjoy a movie here anytime! read more

Saw In the Heights here opening night and what an amazing difference! I watched an advanced screening in a smaller theater at the Ontario Mills AMC and it was ok, but at the new Montclair AMC I was immersed in the film as the screen was HUGE, theater was much bigger and the sound was excellent! I drove from Orange County and was about 15 minutes late for the 6 p.m. show and when I showed the ticket taker my phone he said, "Oh, your friends are inside, theater is to the right, enjoy the show!" I thought that was so nice that he even knew/remembered that my friends were waiting for me! You can see the theater from the 10 freeway and once you get there, you go up an escalator to the second floor, show your ticket to the ticket taker, turn right and there's a huge window which overlooks the freeway and the hills in the distance. There's a sort of lounge by the window which can be a great spot to relax. I've been going to Montclair Place (or Plaza as I knew it) since I was a kid and was afraid this place would be shut down with neighboring malls opening up, but this theater gives me hope that the mall will survive and thrive! I have not and won't eat food here as there's a Lazy Dog next door, but I HIGHLY recommend watching films here as the experience is top notch! read more

If something is missing from your dining order be sure to leave your movie that you paid for to let them know, otherwise you won't get any compensation and you'll be told your a liar and you did receive the item. This was cool! So you order your tickets on the kiosk thing select your seats. You can order food and it gets delivered to you. And the food was AMAZING I've been to restaurants where the food was less tasty then what I got here!! And it was a good amount of food too! It was a bit pricey the food alone was about $50+ the food doesn't come with a drink so you have to add it on the tab. The seats recline AND they can heat up!!! Yooo I watched the conjuring 3 to the credits and when the real recording got on and I felt my back burning I got scared!! My hip accidentally pressed the button so if you got hips don't be alarmed. And the bathroom had like a really good hand dryer it felt futuristic in there! It was so awesome def would come back again! read more

With COVID putting the movie theater experience on hold, I was very eager to finally enjoy going to a brand new state of the art facility to watch a movie. Wow - what a horrible experience at Montclair AMC Theaters. This theater just opened up, and as you walk in, you will see how dirty and unkept this place is. The entire lobby looked like a stadium after a game, trash, food, and drink spills throughout this brand new building. We purchased popcorn and a drink, realized after we received our cups, that it was self serve. They had a few self serve soft drink dispensers, however, we ended up not getting any drinks because every dispenser was filthy. I was surprised coming out of COVID that a new business would even use self serve machines. New or not, they looked like they weren't cleaned all day. I was also surprised that there was no one watching the patrons or someone cleaning up as there was a lot of activity in the lobby area. In fact, a homeless person wS able to get in the theater and I watched him go theater to theater looking through the trash receptacles for food, and soda cups. He could of stayed in theaters all day watching movies, eating, and drinking free sodas without anyone paying attention. Needless to say, this killed my desire to go back to the movie theaters, a d especially won't be going back to Montclair AMC! read more

If you have big hips, BEWARE! The seats are small. I don't know who approved the seats. The design of the recliner buttons and seat warmer is terrible. If you move, you'll most like hit the seat warmer or move your recliner. I didn't truly enjoy my experience because I was so concerned with not hitting the buttons. Terrible design. read more

This is one of the newer AMC's in the area so still has that new theater glow. Converted department store to theater. I've been in a couple of the theaters IMAX and Dolby. The IMAX screen was kind of smaller compared to Covina AMC. Seats are the newer style ones. They offer food service where they deliver it to your seat which is a cool option if you don't mind dropping the cash. Obviously theater food isn't cheap. The outdoor area is a cool hang area. Obviously just a view of the parking lot and freeway, but somewhere to get some air and it's usually pretty empty when I've been. read more

I went to go see Oppenheimer in IMAX at this theater and I didn't get to enjoy the movie since my neck was hurting and I couldn't get comfortable because the seat barely reclined. I sat in row E11 which I thought were good center seats for myself and family but I was wrong. I definitely should've gotten seats more in back so we could've enjoyed the movie. read more

Beautiful new theater near home. You can buy your tickets there at the kiosk or reserve online. You can order food and they will deliver to your seat. Only down fall they have to many young people working i get it we all been there first time jobs ect but the theater has only been open a couple months and it's already a mess. The bathrooms were messy. Our seats had popcorn and tissues everywhere. The "cleaning crew" was all huddled up talking with friends outside the theater room while we saw one guy running around trying to clean up. Kudos for him Not fair for one guy putting in all the work. It's a team effort needs better organization. read more

I am very excited for this theater as it's close to my house. I've been twice since it opened. Watched A Quiet Place 2 last week (great movie!) and had a great experience. The theater was very clean, they're still social distancing so the seats directly to our right and left were blocked out and unable to be reserved. Loved the reclining seats which are new and so, so comfortable! I went back tonight for A Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (also a great movie!) and splurged on the IMAX theater. The tickets were $20.49 each. The screen is huge, clear and the sound was awesome. The theater was also very clean and still observing social distancing. But I was super bummed that both seats would not recline. How do you spend $20 on a ticket for a reclining seat and it's already broken?! I was bummed. And because we had sanitized the hell out of our seats we didn't try and move as we would have disturbed other movie goers. I also tried the dine-in feature part way through the movie and tried to order popcorn as they bring it to your seat. Well the app won't allow you to select dine-in seating for your show once it's started! So the theater is clean and new. The reclining seats we reserved were already broken in IMAX theater 1 and I couldn't order popcorn after the show started. This is why it gets 3 stars instead of 4. read more

Horrible experience.. The manager named Javi was zero help with it came to resolving our issue. The food came out 45 mins after we ordered and by then our movie started... we nibbled at the food and decided to not eat it and take it down after the movie ended. Javi told us that we should've brought the food down immediately when it was cold even though our movie had just begun..... We ended up tossing at least half the food when he told us there was nothing he can do for us since we waited for our movie to end. We won't be returning. The auditorium was so dirty and so were the chairs. Their customer service is horrible and I will be working with my credit card and AMC corporate to obtain a refund for the cold food that was brought out. Additionally, Javi may need some more courses in management as he was unable to come up with ANY solution for us... not even one. Save yourself the hassle and go to another theatre. read more

Went here and when arrived to my seat, the floor was super dirty with slushy all over the floor and my seat! Popcorn and popcorn butter all over the seats was well! Nobody cleaned up after the show and before my show. Had to call an employee and she did clean my particular spot but not the rest. Floor was still dirty and other chairs still full of popcorn butter. I don't know what's going on here but not cool. Come on AMC! What's up with that. BEAUTIFUL new movie theater right near us! I love everything about this, the ambience, the food, and the recliner seats! So convenient how it is attached to the Montclair mall. You can take the entrance from the parking lot up the escalator or stairs//or you can choose to go through the mall. After me and my friends were done shopping we stopped here to catch a show. My family and I have been here a few times since it opened and I'd say that it's ok, actually we just went this evening. Pros: new, clean, pretty space, lots of seating in front area, and in the mall. Cons: the chairs feel narrow, food/drink options sometimes limited (low stock) The first time here, I noticed the chair getting warm all of a sudden. Little did I know they had heated seats and with me being a bit hippy, my hips kept turning it on. That was a little annoying. Tonight we had to sit in the section in front of the handicapped and normally I'd dread that spot but with the reclining chairs, it wasn't bad at all. As an A-List member, I was super excited to have another local AMC option besides Ontario. Came here last night for a movie and loved this theater! Ordered at both the bar (great and quick service) as well as the snack station (chicken tenders and a burger - both were very good). I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness as there was a station outside each theater with wipes and sanitizer. The entire theater was extremely clean and spaced out. Plus they are spacing out seats when you book. A new great theater for the area! read more

Me and my girlfriend are AMC A list Members and we selected seats right in the middle of the theatre. When we got to the theatre the seat numbers we selected were to the far right. I spoke to the supervisor and they moved us to the far right and they didnt want to offer a refund for our monthly A list nor a small bag a popcorn. They said the AMC website glitch is not their fault. REP your company the right way. 1 star for the sassy passive aggressive attitude even though I was being chill. read more

We had a great experience other then waiting 30+ minutes for the movie to start due to technical difficulties. What made it worse was having to sit in pitch black dark waiting for the movie to come on. I had to use my cell phone to see what I was eating and walk through the theater. Also they has no salt for popcorn and one of the butter stands was empty. It was the first movie of the day, so they should all be full and have salt. We still enjoyed ourselves and the food was good. I'll come back but hopefully no more technical difficulties that last that long and everything is filled for guests. read more

Came to first showing of the day (11:45 am show time). I went to the concessions stand to order a hotdog (it's lunch time), and was informed it would be 10 minutes until they were ready. My daughter inquired about just ordering them to be delivered to our seats, and we were told that unfortunately this service wasn't available for hotdogs. Since we are movie pass holders and this is the main theater we visit, we knew this wasn't true. But, chose to walk away and place the order to our seats (onlbecause this service was available for the hotdogs. Not sure why we were misinformed, but perhaps management should be aware that this is the message being delivered to their customers. Note: The food was delivered to us in the theater, and the young man who brought it was pleasant. read more

I had a question and he was more than willing to help me out but he couldn't figure it out but after my movie he stopped me on my way out and took his time to go out of his way to help me. Half the people at every movie are on their phones and there's always some idiot smoking weed in the entry walkways. The Dolby in this one is also not good. Compare it to the one in Ontario and you'll hear the difference. It's basically muffled at this one. Trash theater. read more
