With limited options, this was a great bar find in Claremont! Huge cocktail list and everything we ordered was better than expected. The vibes can go either way - when we got there it was bustling but leaning more towards a sit down bar / restaurant. We truly loved this place for their drinks and appetizers, but sadly, the service has been consistently disappointing. The last two times we've visited, the experience has been frustrating. The first time, we gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was busy. But the next visit was on a weekday around 3 PM and the service was still awful. Our server would literally check on us about once every 20 minutes and we were one of three tables in the whole restaurant at the time . At one point, we were seriously considering getting up and going to the bar ourselves just to order more drinks, but thankfully he eventually came back. I came here with my family on a Wednesday night for our weekly dinner outing! My mom is a vegetarian, and we decided on this place because there were several vegan and vegetarian options. We made a reservation for 3 at 7 PM and upon arriving, we were seated right away! Between the three of us, we ordered a vegan Caesar salad (btw do you know how hard it is to find a vegan Caesar salad?!), nachos (with chicken on the side), the Mozwell burger (the fries on the side were absolutely crispy and delicious), and the aguachilles! I thought it was really kind of the server to accommodate my mom's vegetarian preferences, and offered to put the meat on the side! The restaurant is clean, and the food is served fast (which I so appreciate when you're hungry). Ordered the burger and it was pretty mid. Dry burger with no sauce on it really. Needed some type of Aoili or spread at least on it. Best thing we got were the taquitos as an appetizer. Atmosphere of the restaurant is chill... Drinks were pretty solid but food just seemed mid. Also got the cesar salad and only the top of the salad had the dressing the rest of it was super dry and bland. Not much flavor going on in their food. Have been to this place enough times to realize to stop coming. Came in on a Friday at 4pm barely anyone inside, waited 20mins and no one came up to take our order, walked out. That's how it is every time I have came in, over priced food & drinks, terrible customer service. Don't change your hours to bring in more customers just to talk to each other behind the bar and stare at customers and still not come up to the table and take orders. This place felt more like a chaotic college party than an actual restaurant. The noise level was beyond loud and not in a fun or energetic way -- it was stressful just trying to have a conversation. The food arrived literally within about 3 minutes after ordering, which immediately made us question how fresh anything could possibly be. Unfortunately, the quality matched the speed. Most of the meats were badly burnt, dry, and almost inedible to the point where we had to send dishes back. Service was also extremely poor and disorganized, which only added to the chaotic atmosphere. Overall, this might honestly be one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Claremont. Hubby randomly found this place while we were in the area. We came here yesterday for late lunch. Place was empty since it was an odd time. Atmosphere was bright & modern. I've read mixed reviews about this place in regard to the food & service & obviously it depends what you order & who serves you but I thought otherwise. We were given a weekend lunch menu. Hubby ordered taquitos & I had shrimp tacos. Both dishes were satisfying. Portions were just the right amount for us. The tortilla on the taco was thin but surprisingly it didn't break off. Shrimp tasted delicious & there were ample amount of them in each taco. All the condiments blended well together. I'd order it again. Taquitos were soft & flavorful. It's all the way in the back corner next to Eureka. Service was great. The ambiance is cute and trendy. I'm not sure if the AC couldn't keep up since it was a hot day but inside was pretty warm. My friend and I were slightly uncomfortable after a while. Food and drinks were pretty good. I ordered the Spicy Margarita and boy did it pack a punch. Although we only ordered two items, they were both excellent. We would have absolutely ordered more if we had room! Mojo fries were BOMB. Generous portion size and flavors were spot on. Consistency of fries was also perfect. Quesa birria tacos were delicious and had a generous amount of meat. Both items were good to split. Mozwell is a bit hard to find, it's located in the back of the packing house, behind Eureka!. We went through the doors by the patio by the street, but apparently the main entrance is from inside the packing house. I loved the vibe here, very hip and modern and very fun. This is a perfect spot to grab a drink at the bar or hang out with friends. I understand they have jazz on certain nights, which would be fun to go to! The menu is Mexican fusion and all the menu items looked great. We got: Elote Bowl Mojo Fries Birria Burger Chicken Milanese Torta Diablo Shrimp Pasta Quesadilla Birria Tacos Shrimp Tacos Churro Cake Everything was excellent, the only things my family thought could use improvement on was the torta and the shrimp pasta. The pasta had good seasoning and spice, but it wasn't salty enough. The chicken patty in the torta was dry so my son didn't really like it. The Birria burger was the biggest surprise. We thought it was a burger made with Birria, but it was Birria ON TOP of a burger patty, so it was basically double meat. A very hearty meal on a platter for sure! Service was excellent before our server went on break. Our backup server was MIA and we were ignored the rest of our visit. I had to wave down one of the very nice gentlemen in the beige t-shirts (not sure if they are supervisors) so we could have our dishes removed off our table, and so we could order the churro cake for dessert, which by the way was soo good and a great way to end the meal!! FYI, for the vertically challenged like me, the mirrors in the bathrooms are so high up that you won't be able to see your reflection. FYI if you want to check your appearance...bring your own mirror in your purse. I thought boy, I'd want to come back here for their brunch or HH. But the entrees (and cleanliness) fell short. Wagyu birria burger was overwhelming so I recommend sharing this dish. Diablo shrimp pasta was super spicy, so I don't recommend if you can't handle spice. Tallarin verde with chicken was overly sauced and garlicky. I love garlic but the pasta was drowning in sauce. The Santa Fe Salad was surprisingly good and one of the better dishes. 2/5 for cleanliness. Their staff and dishwashers need to pay more attention to their tableware before serving guests. Right off the bat, 50% of our plates had nasty leftover remnants. My beer glass had some hardened red gunk on the rim. There were a couple of flies just surrounding the table. Someone in my party couldn't finish their meal because they felt disgusted of how many dirty things we noticed. Like that there is underground parking and it's doing by the corner. I called early the morning Saturday and there was plenty of space especially outdoors since we had dogs with us after hiking Claremont loop. The spacious area was clean and simple. Through that time, we saw the interior vibe change from almost spa/zen-like with its serene, comfortable colors and bright, window-lit space into a hip and trendy this side of club vibe. Music, lights dimmed while DJ-style lights came up. The place packed up bringing conversation, laughter, and memories in the making. Maybe not unexpectedly with the busy-ness, the orders/kitchen got behind or part of our order got overlooked, but did eventually make it to the table along with an apology and a plate of complimentary steamy hot churros. This acknowledgment and thoughtful face-to-face interaction shows their heart is not only in their food offerings, but also in their customer service ethic. In terms of food, we got nachos, birria tacos, chicken and pork tacos ($2 a taco on taco Tuesday's). My favorite thing was the nachos (chips are slightly hard but flavors were good and it comes with a lot of toppings. My husband liked the birria tacos the best - slightly salty but still good. The chicken and pork tacos that were part of the taco Tuesday deal were both not great (pork was REALLY salty and chicken was bland). We asked for some sauce since those tacos didn't come with any and both sauces from the restaurant were whatever - tapatio was the best. Love coming here for everything, social hour, food, and drinks. I think I've come here enough to know they have great drinks and especially since they make their own syrups. My go to are those fries when I start drinking, but all the food is great with amazing flavor. The atmosphere in there can get a bit loud at night so may not be ideal for a first date if you're trying to chat. During the day it's more relaxed. But I love this place hands down.
