I've driven by this place 1 million times but never thought to stop in. Gave it a try today and came early right after opening. The restaurant is really nice and big, and they have some great lunch and breakfast specials. The only downside is the bathrooms, the plumbing, something stinks to high heaven in there. They have been shut down since October 30th. Per LA County Public Health they were shut down for Vermin infestation ( rats.) Along with several other violations including vermin in the food and other major violations. Im sick to my stomach because my wife and I would eat here about twice a month. They have the parking lot blocked off so you cant walk up and see the notice from LA County. Disgusting! If they were this terrible for years im guessing they will return to their filthy ways. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I suggest looking on LA Countys website and see for yourself. read more

Horrible horrible service! And if you're not ordering alcohol, good luck getting a refill on ice tea! The food was good, then the last few times I was ill with stomach issues! They give you a courtesy basket of chips & salsa! I asked for more chips and I was charged-I believe $4 or $4.50 extra which was disappointing since every other Mexican restaurant does not charge! We continued to go back as lots of our friends would go to Karaoke night, but the service was bad or really nasty, & rude! We had finally had enough! Our dining experience was not planned ahead of time yet, it's exactly what we didn't know we needed. All three entrees were delicious in their own unique way. Food came out in a timely manner and piping hot. We celebrated a birthday during the week. The only surprise was having the restaurant employees cleaning as we were still enjoying our dinner. Our server was very apologetic and it didn't bother us. If you're planning a late dinner best avoid visiting during the week and wait for the weekend hours. Overall, good experience. At the end of a long day this place really shows it. Two tables have not been bussed for perhaps an hour before we arrived and not the entire time we there. The only thing the restroom has above a squat at the public beach facilities is that I don't have to step over a body to get to the loo. The wait staff were the only bright light in this dim experience. Our waitress apologized profusely for the wait despite it being of customary duration. Perhaps she knew what the kitchen was about to send out. Everything, every dish our party ordered was undercooked. The first hint should have been that my dainty gabacho hands could easily grip that freshly served plate without searing pain. Refried beans should have no crunch. Cheese should be melted ...you get idea. A 1/4 mile more and we could have eaten at Angeles for less, but we stopped here because it was not a chain. One thing chains have is predictable mediocrity. Margarita's fell far short. Before we even left the table I said, "This business deserves to die." Especially at these prices. read more

He suggested we go to his hang out for an early dinner. I've been to Las Margaritas for Menudo a few times on a weekend. I LOVE their menudo! Today we showed up about 4:45pm. The place was empty. I ordered the shredded beef torta. It was just okay. Not bad or good. I was hungry so it filled my stomach and I was content. I think the meat was missing seasoning. I doctored it up with salsa and salt. TV (Ray The Villain) ordered a shrimp quesadilla, it was HUGE! He drank 3 margaritas while we there, so they must've been delicious! Service was good. read more

I'm really disappointed with my experience. I called earlier to confirm their closing time posted on Yelp, and was told they would be open. I arrived well within that time, only to be rudely told by a entire wait staff that they were already closed -- even though the restaurant was still full of customers. The tone and attitude were completely unnecessary and made the situation even worse. I expected much better communication and basic courtesy. The waiter was very friendly and made himself available to assist with any questions or suggestions. The location is clean and has two spacious dining rooms. Large menu selection of drinks and dishes. The chips came out hot and fresh. The salsa is tasty and starts out mild but gets hotter with each scoop. The food was good. Hot and fresh. Good flavor. Today is Friday and they have a Karaoke DJ. I was so surprised and am almost willing to sing a song good environment and you can see they have their regulars who are faithful customers. I had not bin to this restaurant for a while. But I do regret going this time. I ordered a Sea Food Soup (My first time). I was thinking I was going to get what l saw in the menu picture. Wrong !!! I got my soup and it tasted funny. Something was not right. I thought it was just my mind being paranoid? It is true, when they say to trust your instincts! As I was about to get a carrot from he soup, l noticed different coloring and not clean scraped from this piece of carrot. The other part of carrot was dirty. The Carrot had not bin washed or cleaned. It was dirty, with dirt and root strings in it. I called on the waitress, l showed her the piece of carrot I was about to eat. Then she tried to justify the reason why the carrot was dirty. She said "oh that was just a piece the slipped." I said no, there are more pieces of carrots like this one in the soup. She then answered in a disturbed tone of voice "well l can get you another!" Meaning another carrot." Now why would l want another carrot? If the soup at this point is spoiled in my mind. So she just left. I was disgusted and lost my appetite. So, I left the soup and now I am sharing my picture. I do not recommend this restaurant. The food is not well prepared or clean. I caught this dirty carrot by luck and my sense of taste confirmed the soup was bad (l just hope l do not get sick). I asked myself, imagine what other foods might be contaminated, dirty, and not well prepared. Now l think there are a lot of things this restaurant is trying to hide in their food? If pay for a service and food, l should be getting something reasonable. Don't you agree? This is not acceptable. I will never again go to this unhealthy restaurant, Las Margaritas. read more

Our table was sticky & I had to wipe it down after I asked someone to clean it but of course, it was one of those really old dirty rags... & Wow the women's bathroom smelled horrible. IDK if there was a broken toilet or pipe but it was horrible horrible... & The soap didn't work. I thought there was no soap so I asked someone to refill it. She goes & tells me " IT'S FULL!!" so I responded with well then the dispenser doesn't work. After COVID I carry my own soap & wipes so I just used my own... We just stayed because we were really hungry after coming from the LA county fair & my in laws wanted to try the food... Well the food was good... But then I found a nasty black hair in my food... This should really be a 3.5 stars but I'll round it to 4 because the service here is good. Pros - The mixed molcajete is fantastic. This was my first time trying out this dish and it comes out hot and bubbling kind of like a sizzling plate. We ordered the chorizo version and it came with steak, chicken, cactus, cheese, yellow pepper, and salsa. It hit the spot on a cold rainy day. Definitely recommend this one if you visit! - Service here was pretty prompt too. Our wait was a bit long due to the huge party on the side but the waitresses were really nice. - I'm not a huge fan of karaoke myself but I like watching people do it so it's kind of a dinner and a show. Cons - Interior is really dim. Like it can't decide if it wants to be a bar or a restaurant. - I ordered the 7 mares soup and the ingredients they have in there didn't seem too fresh (that crab claw definitely tasted a bit funky) and the broth was pretty bland. I'm not in a huge hurry to come back to this place but if I do, I'm going to stick to the molcajete. read more
