We came here to see the new Super Mario Brothers movie. I've been to this location many times in the past, but until today had not been since before 2020. Sadly, it was not what I remembered. The seats are prebooked in advance so if the theater is full, you cannot change seats if there is an issue with your booked seat. Our theater im was booked except for the front row. The seat I booked was filthy and had threads coming out of the seam of the chair. The recliner function was faulty and occasionally would move me around throughout the movie. The employees were friendly at the concessions counter. Of course popcorn was expensive; but, it was fresh and hot. I would come back here and give it another chance. This was a very good visit to the movie theater, especially since most of the theaters in town are not currently open. They are doing a good job with social distancing and cleanliness. The movie theater is only using 40% capacity for each screen. Currently, AMC Theater is offering their premium rewards program for only $5, which is normally $15. This allows you priority in every line and huge discounts on concessions and shows. The seats are very comfortable and incline, I highly recommend this movie theater. read more

I'm a huge AMC theater fan (an a-lister even); however, the theaters are miserably HOT. We spoke to the front desk and they said, yeah we know it takes a while. We were there just last week and had the same problem. Hopefully they get their air conditioning figured out. Also, the bathroom situation is a mess. We walked in and payed 61.95 for four tickets to Northman. As we started walking the lady asked to show ID. I was 17 but my friends weren't we understood and walked off but the ladies where giving attitude. We we refunded and got sonic 2 tickets :(. My son got sick. He did not make a mess but needed to go home. Security came in to the theater and got me. They were so kind, giving him a bottle of water and giving us free passes to come back at a later date. I was embarrassed and apologetic but the security and manager were so reassuring and helpful. Came opening night on a Friday to see Black Widow. First movie in a year since covid my my wife and me. Tickets were almost 40$ online with the fees and tax. Parking lot was disgusting, trash everywhere. Inside the drink area had slushies all over it. Hadn't been cleaned in hours. In the theater it was even worse. This was our first time here since the redo. The ticket prices were barely cheaper than Regal (Warren) bit that's not so bad. I downloaded the AMC app to get a better deal on their concession combos. 2 large drinks, 1 large popcorn and 2 candies for $25. Had it set up to be delivered to our seats but wound up wanting the popcorn sooner so they graciously did it early for us. The employees behind the concession counter didn't seem rude like other reviews stated. The reclining chairs are nice but I wish they would recline farther so my neck wouldn't strain as much. My fiancé and I visited the AMC Northrock 14 for a date night to see Air. Upon entering the theatre, the staff was friendly enough and assisted us in getting checked in. We made our way toward the concession stand where I noticed a man picking his nose. I paid for my snacks and the employee awkwardly waited for me to walk away without offering a receipt or letting me know the transaction was complete. For some reason I thanked him even though he clearly should have been thanking me for my business if anyone was going to say thank you. The line to fill my soft drink was long and the counters were sticky. Popcorn littered the floor of the entire lobby. I noticed many patrons had brought their own blankets from home, which is disturbing given the fact that bedbugs are a real problem at this time and we weren't attending a sleepover or camp out. My fiancé and I used the restrooms, both of which were littered with toilet paper, concession trash, and paper towels. The trash cans were overflowing in the restrooms. The paper towel dispensers we're empty and some of the stalls had no toilet paper. We made our way toward our theatre where we noticed a young female employee accompanying two security officers up and down the hall for no real reason. Perhaps she should have been sweeping popcorn or checking the restrooms? I guess she had other priorities for her shift. It was also bothersome that we needed security guards around and they were distracted anyway. Inside the theater there was a plethora of popcorn on the floor from the previous showing. The reclining seats were dirty and the head rests were worn and broken down more than leather seats in an '87 Chevy. We elected to leave. We asked for a refund and we were granted one. However, due to a cashier error the money was put on a gift card. We have no intention of returning, so we gifted the money to a nice young man in line. Overall, my experience here was abysmal. Don't go here. Go to the regal. It's a little more expensive but very classy. read more

We decided to try out this AMC because they had a movie showtime that day that was more convenient for us than the Warren 21. It seemed like a good opportunity to check it out. The seats recline, but they're narrow and just okay when it comes to overall comfort [they remind me of a poor man's version of a nice reclining seat, like those you can experience at Warren 21]. The concession prices are outrageous (the employee was apologetic when bringing to our attention the price of a bottled water @ nearly $5 each)! We bought one, and shared it, instead of purchasing 2). The theater is understaffed and, by all appearances, it's poorly managed. The single attendant at the ticket desk called for assitance when she was beginning to get overwhelmed. I thought, good for her for asking for help! At that time, there were only 3-4 of us in line, but she had her hands full when handling an exhaustive (and exhausting!) series of questions being raised by the customer she was currently serving. By the time 2 other employees arrived, the line had swelled to 12+ customers. To our dismay, instead of helping her with the large line of customers, the two of them attempted to ignore the line and instead handled a dissatisfied customer who demanded their attention (and cut in front of the line, to lodge her complaint about the delay in the movie she was there to watch not starting on time). I finally prodded the customer in front of me, who was 2nd in line behind the customer (still) being served, to approach the two employees who had just arrived, in order to buy tickets from them. Evidently that finally compelled them to open a 2nd register. Apparently they had come to the ticket counter for other purposes, maybe new employee orientation or training, but clearly not to assist the attendant who had requested help. On a positive note, it was nice to be able to purchase reserved seats online. Unfortunately, the online ticket purchase process is "clunky." There are NO instructions, not in the email or text confirmation that's sent, nor at the counter kiosks. The kiosk presents a bar code image but unfortunately there's no barcode sent in the confirming email or text. We finally noticed another customer fumble through the kiosk process and saw that you need to go past the initial bar code image presented by the kiosk and MANUALLY enter a 10 digit confirmation code [We could only wonder how many other customers could have bypassed the long line, to purchase or pick up their tickets, by using the kiosk....] I'd only return to this theater if there's a more convenient showtime or to see a movie that's only being offered as stadium seating at a Warren/Regal theater. read more

What. A. Dump. We went here to watch Bohemian Rhapsody. There was very few people working the concession stands. When we finally got to order, the girl behind the counter completely hated her life. When we got to our seats, they were absolutely filthy. My husband finally flagged down someone. Two guys show up, and they're practically taking a vote on who cleans up the mess. Finally one guy says "Fine. I got it." Then we are here for an evening show. Not a matinee. A 7:20pm showing. The bar is dark. My husband walked around to ask about it, but low and behold, no one to be found. He finally asked a guy behind the concession counter, and he had no clue. I'm with many other reviewers. I more or less despise going to the movies, but took my kids to see a movie and see if my spouse's recommendation was on point.. It wasn't. Pros: Great sound, great picture, the Atom app is a nice way to buy tickets. I like that they're reserved seats. Cons: Painfully slow concession service. Jaw-dropping prices. $5 for a small bottle of water. $21(!) for a pretzel and drink. $15 for a loaded hotdog. Lol. Check for yourself - I thought I was being pranked. Seats are ok, they can recline, but they get uncomfortable by the end of the movie. Oh yeah - literally 20+ minutes of previews. Really bizarre business model, everything is encouraged to get you to sign up (pay for?) a "premium" membership, but you wait just as long as everyone else. Nice big comfy seats. Not sure how clean they were, however. About the only thing I liked. Went and saw a 1 PM showing on a Sunday. I don't go to the movies very often, and not for previews. 30 minutes worth is way overboard. Sound was loud enough to vibrate the seats. My ears still hurt, from how much they had the volume turned up, 2 and half hours after finishing the movie. I used to work on helicopters for a living, and the volume in the theater was louder than they were. Expensive snacks. Over $4 for a bottle of water that you'd pay $0.99 at quiktrip for? Seriously? And the no weapons sign topped it off. If a business says I'm not allowed to protect myself and my loved ones while on their property, and they dont provide security, they can't have my hard earned money. I won't be going back. read more

Seating is nice and spacious. Quality of the movie is wonderful. Just make sure you don't visit on a 5.00 Tuesday night! Service was horrible! No one at the front to scan online tickets that were purchased ahead of time. We had to wait in a long line just to get them scanned as if we were purchasing tickets. Which totally threw the whole concept of "beat the line" out of the window. The concessions were limited workers on one of the most busiest day.... I ordered pretzel bites, and had to wait 18 mins just to get them! Mind you he had them prepared (not packaged) but sitting out to get cold while he prepared others food. By the time I got to my seat they were cold and chewy! I waited so long in line it just wasn't worth the fuse of taking them back up there for a refund! Know what you're getting into. The theatre is great. Like, genuinely wonderful. Everything else on your way to the theatre is a dirty ghost town with a bad attitude. The cleanliness and customer service are normally bad, but this last time I visited, there was vomit in the restroom. I told an employee about it, and learned that someone had already informed her, she had told the manager, and they were waiting for someone to respond. Then I overheard the employees and manager on the radio arguing over who would clean it up.. after, reportedly, 2 employees had already "lied and said they did". I get not wanting to clean someone else's puke during Norovirus season, but at least shut the bathroom down if you are already aware it's a problem, so your customers don't get sick themselves. This place has very poor management problems. At an earlier visit, the manager himself gave me attitude about brewing decaf coffee for a 7p showing. So, if it goes that employees follow their leadership, many problems at the AMC might be solved if management changes. Moral of the story, sneak in your own food, skip the bathrooms, and bring some Lysol wipes to clean whatever you'd like to touch. Then, you'll be great- the seats are cozy and the movie experience itself is wonderful. Oh! And people are accurate about there being 30 minutes of previews, so bump your time back by that much too if you're a person who values efficiency. read more

Sometime in February, 2019 my wife and I (frequent movie-goers) decided we would no longer support this theater because of extremely cold temps in the theaters. We complained 3 times during the course of the last movie and when we finally left, we were told it was an issue with their heating system. Today, January 22, 2020 we decided to give it another chance. We watched the first half of the movie with our winter coats zipped up, gloves on, and were still freezing. There were 4 other people in the theater, all with their coats still on. We left without finishing the movie; I complained, and was told by an employee that it was deliberate to keep expenses down. It's too bad, because otherwise we like the theater. My recommendation is wear a parka and long underwear, because you'll need it. We won't be going back. read more

I'd hoped the revamped Northrock would be a nice addition to theater options. I am looking for those hopes somewhere else. Customer service at this location is non-existent, from the ticket counter to the concessions. Speaking of which, the concessions are WAY over priced, even for premium theater standards. Drinks are self service, which makes it slow as can be, especially if you are behind a family with multiple children. Also, the butter station for popcorn is self-serve. While I appreciate I can choose the amount of butter I want, I'd prefer it not have to be all on top of the bucket. The self-serve options just seem like a staff cutting measure. The bathrooms, if they are open, are disasters. I went to the men's room and it was disgusting. Thankfully, I can stand up while in there. I can't even imagine the ladies that have to endure the women's room. Good thing is, both times we've been here recently, 1/2 of them were closed, so we had the nice experience of nearly walking all the way back out of the theater to use them. My last comment is about the previews. Wow. Seriously? A full 30 minutes of previews. I'm not kidding. My wife told me that before we went and I thought she was joking. Happened to me twice now. We to a 1:15 showing yesterday, arrived at 1:15, got our tix, used the rest rooms (since we were in the lobby anyway), bought concessions, walked to our seats and still watched 20 minutes of previews. Movie began just at 1:45. AMC must make a FORTUNE from showing previews. I've been twice in the past month and will never be back. For the $, this experience is just not worth it. read more

This is the WORST theatre in Wichita. I really wanted to like them. Here is the short version of my last experience there... It's all assigned seating at Northrock 14 AMC, which you either buy at a kiosk or at the counter. We bought tickets from a person at the counter and she sold us tickets for a previous showing. (Which we didn't realize.) We went in and sat down, then ten minutes after the movie had started, some other couple comes up and says that we are in their seats. So, we told them we weren't, and showed them that we had stubs for those seats. Ten minutes later they come back with an employee, same thing. We stay put. Forty five minutes into the movie, a manager comes over and looks at our stubs and realizes they're for the wrong show. He tries to relocate us to the front row, which we refused, and got up and left. They tried to give us tickets for a future show but by that point we were both pissed off. I'll never go back there, it was ridiculous. I don't know why those other people would've even still wanted to see that movie. At that point, they had missed half of it. Customer service 101 should have been to leave us alone (since it was their mistake and our intent was to buy tickets for that show with those seats) and to offer the other people either other seats or a refund. This theatre doesn't have their shit together and it shows. I really wanted an option for movies other than Regal. read more

Enjoy the AMC A-list membership and as the only AMC theater in town I end up watching movies here more often than not. However there are some downsides: buy your ticket online, choose your seat, show up to the theater and the only person checking your 'ticket' is also the only person selling tickets behind the counter. So you wait in line until they are done with their transactions and A-list sales pitch to show your eticket and ID to get in to the theater. Then you decide you want refreshments. Most likely there is only one person behind the counter getting your popcorn, making your hotdog, or your flatbread pizza...for a family. So you wait....to pay the most exorbitant refreshment prices of any theater in the Wichita area. Finally receiving your $25 worth of hotdog, popcorn and drink, you head to your theater at the assigned start time ready to take in the show. Nope! You will be greeted with 15-30 minutes of advertising and movie trailers before you can watch that cinematic masterpiece. This is when we finally get to the pros: The theater seating is spacious and fresh; Reclining seats and no sharing of arm rests; Nice big screens with great audio at appropriate levels; Alternative movie choices such as past high profile movies being re-run through the theater; good start times for most movies from morning to night; and Dolby digital theater with seat inductive rumble that is bested only by IMAX in my opinion. Overall the theater works for me as I pay their monthly membership and can overlook the issues, and I really enjoy the Dolby theater. However, Regal has a competing membership option that might entice more avid movie goers to their multiple locations for not much more money. read more

When I called to be refunded of the second charge they refused and said the only thing they would do is credit me 2 tickets to a future movie. Unacceptable. I mentioned this to I believe it was the manager on duty while at the theater on Saturday, but I was super disappointed in the brightness of the showing for Into the Spiderverse and would have walked out and requested a refund if my parents were in attendance with me. I don't know if the fault was with the projector itself or if maybe the bright-green exit signs were lighting the screen much more than before, but the fact that I had to squint my eyes to see half the movie ruined the experience.
