Stale popcorn and TINY screens. The seats are short, too, so even a short person cannot lean their head back. Rude staff.

MANAGER BRIAN IS ACTIVELY STOPPING LOCAL ADULTS FROM SEEING 'GIRLS LIKE GIRLS'…read more I am incredibly disappointed by my experience with the management at Regal Warren East. I called the theater hoping to get tickets to see the new movie Girls Like Girls (an adaptation of a NYT bestselling book aimed specifically at young adults). This location is the ONLY theater in Wichita playing this film. Because they chose to place this LGBTQ+ film exclusively in the "Warren 21" premium wing, anyone aged 17-20 is completely banned from seeing it in our city--even though they are legal adults fully permitted to watch R-rated movies under standard Regal policy. When I spoke to Brian, the manager on duty, over the phone to clarify this, his response was completely unacceptable. Brian explicitly stated that he didn't think the movie was going to be popular enough to put on a main screen "because of the content."When I asked for a reasonable compromise -- such as creating a sign-up list for a single, standard-screen showing so the theater could gauge actual local interest -- Brian straight up refused. He told me he would not allow anyone under 21 to even be put on a list, that a list could not be made, completely locking out the very demographic this film was made for. It is deeply alienating to hear a manager use personal assumptions about "content popularity" to justify burying an LGBTQ+ film behind a 21+ bar barrier when they hold the local monopoly on the release. Regal Corporate needs to look into how Brian is running this location and fix this screen assignment immediately.

Local, Affordable and most importantly.... No commercials…read more If you want a movie experience that we used to all have a decade ago, but with lots of modern amenities, this is the place for it. The movie starts exactly at the time advertised on their website. So, if it starts at noon, be there 10 minutes before. There will be a few trailers and straight to the movie. The Warren and AMC have about 20 minutes of shampoo commercials and then 15 minutes of movie trailers. It has open seating, so no need to reserve seats to accommodate your family and friends. The food and drink options are unique and nice. It's stuff you won't see at the other spots. The prices are affordable. Want an Oreo popcorn? they have it. Want 20 different soda options? they have it. Want an adult beverage? they have it. What I do is order everything I want on their website and just walk in with my QR code on my phone, and they have my stuff ready, and the food will be made to order and is pretty decently quick (8-10 min). It's almost all self-serve so it's pretty quick. Only con I can say is the refills cost extra, but I suppose the lower price food/drink reflects that. Good for folks that don't normally get a refill. The theater itself is a work in progress. They have a message pulled up before the movie starts explaining it and they are making improvements. If you want an overall better experience that is affordable, check out this theater.

We enjoyed our entire experience. The shows offered at Boulevard were the most current releases and…read morethe same ones being shown at AMC. The facility was clean, staff were limited but helpful and prices were much less expensive for the food/ticket than other theaters. Wife liked the popcorn. Liked the rocking seats (no recliners but we were fine with that). Liked the Oldtown location. Sound and picture were very good and we really liked the fact that they only showed two trailers and we were able to get right to the showing of the movie. Highly recommend if you just want to go see a movie in a comfortable theater with good picture/sound while not being overcharged for all of the extras.

The seating is armless banquet chairs packed as tight as possible. It's like being trapped in the center section of a 747. I'd have given one star but there are three rows with decent views. And bring earplugs. Even comedy shows are too loud.

As for what to say about the dinner, (I use that term loosely) my mother told me if I didn't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all! Well...I don't listen to my mother. First, the buffet was served to you only after standing in a line that wrapped around the theater like you were standing in line in a prison or a sad cafeteria, except the food and service at the Crown was worse. The "meal" started with some over cooked mystery meat and a dried up piece of chicken meat (not sure what part of the chicken it was) some mushy vegetables that had the piss cooked out of them, some mashed potatoes that tasted like paste, a cold roll w/cold butter and a salad, no wait...it was just lettuce. To top it all off...it was served on a paper plate. And not one of the the "good" paper plates, one of the plates that can't hold much food without collapsing. But that's ok, because the serving was minimal at best. We only were able to eat part of the "food" and ended up throwing it out in the convenient trash cans spread out around the theater. The show was fantastic and we really enjoyed the performances. The talent of the singing and dancing was very impressive. While we sat in the front row, there didn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. Well, except for the seats on the far left side of the theater, where everyone stands in line to get the incredibly bad meal. If you have seat in this section you will have people standing all around you before the show starts. The bar was quick and attentive with the ability to order from your seat before the show starts and at intermission. They should have more of the food listed on the menu available, but then people would forgo the "dinner". Believe me a frozen pizza, a pretzel or some popcorn from the bar would have been better. My advice to Max Wilson and the other leadership of the theater, you have a GREAT group of performers, shows, venue and volunteers, but you MUST find a better caterer! If you need to, charge a little more and improve the dinning experience that's ok. It would be worth it to complete the experience. That all said, we will be back to see a show, maybe even Elvis in January, but it won't be for dinner. 5 stars for the performances and performers, but 0 stars for the food!
