I had a really disappointing experience at AMC Topanga 12 last night. I came in around 11 PM to see *Insidious* and went to the Premiere concession line. There were two male employees working, and I was waiting because I honestly did not realize the employee second from the wall was ready to take my order. He had not called me up or said anything, so I assumed I was supposed to wait for the other employee. Instead, he said something along the lines of, "Come when you're ready," in a very rude and irritated tone. I was caught off guard, but I still walked up and said oh okay in soft confused tone. When I walked up to order, he responded with "What?" in the same annoyed tone. I told him If i can just get two large drinks, and the same angry time he said "2 Large drinks that's it?" The entire interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and uncomfortable. I understand that employees can have bad days, especially during late shifts, but that is not an excuse to take it out on customers. I was not rude, demanding, or causing any problem. I was simply waiting because I did not know he was ready to help me. But honestly i don't think that was the problem. A simple "I can help you over here" would have been enough. I did not say anything to him at the time because I was honestly shocked by his attitude. I have been to AMC before and have never had an interaction like this. Customer service should not make someone feel like they are bothering an employee just for placing a basic order. AMC Topanga 12 really needs to speak with their staff about how they communicate with customers. And if they are having a bad day to the point where they don't even hide it from anyone send him home. If you are handicapped, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! They DO NOT take handicapped people into consideration when it comes to parking and accessibility. There are only about FIVE handicapped parking spaces among roughly 100 parking spaces. There should be at least 10 handicapped spaces available. As a handicapped person myself, I was very disappointed. I also personally observed elderly people with walkers struggling to get to the movie theater because they had to park on the other side of the mall and walk through the mall just to get to the movies. That is simply too much for some seniors and people with disabilities. Mind you, not every handicapped person or senior citizen has the extra money to pay for valet parking. And even with valet parking, you still have to walk a distance just to get to the theater. I am an AMC A-List and Premiere member, so I support AMC and go to the movies regularly. Personally, I will continue going to AMC Porter Ranch. It is convenient, there are tons of restaurants nearby, and most importantly, there are more handicapped parking spaces available. And this isn't only something the movie theater should think about--the MALL should also take a serious look at its accommodations for handicapped and elderly guests. Accessibility should not be an afterthought. Even when going to the social areas of the mall, accessibility needs to be considered. Is the social experience only supposed to be for young, able-bodied adults? Seniors and people with disabilities want to go out, socialize, eat, shop, and enjoy entertainment too! We should not have to struggle just to participate. If you are handicapped, elderly, use a walker, or have difficulty walking long distances and you want a more accessible movie-going experience, I recommend AMC Porter Ranch. AMC and the mall, PLEASE DO BETTER. Handicapped people and senior citizens deserve the same opportunity to comfortably enjoy a day at the movies, dinner, shopping, and the social experience. I have visited this theater three times this week (Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday). The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and the sound quality is excellent. However, my most recent visit exposed serious issues that cannot be ignored. Alcohol should not be served in this theater. Period. During my Saturday visit, I witnessed a customer repeatedly leaving and returning with multiple alcoholic beverages, eventually stumbling and clearly impaired. This is unacceptable in a public movie theater--especially one where families and children are present. Serving alcohol in this environment creates unnecessary safety risks and disrupts the experience for others. This practice should be discontinued or strictly controlled at a much higher level. In addition, there was complete disorganization with seating. Multiple guests were in the wrong seats, creating confusion and delays, and there were no ushers or staff present inside the theater to assist. For a theater of this quality, the absence of staff oversight is unacceptable. To make matters worse, outside food was brought into the theater, creating strong odors that impacted the viewing experience. This should be enforced and addressed consistently. This theater has the potential to offer a premium experience, but without proper supervision and accountability--especially on weekends--it falls short. Immediate improvements in management, staffing, and policy enforcement are necessary. I expect better from a theater of this standard.My favorite theater BUT PLEASE STOP SERVING ALCOHOL. I've revised my review now, because so far, ever since the last debacle of not having the advertised give away, thereafter AMC was diligent on having the give aways on hand on day off. Still a nice place for movies and plenty of areas to sit in, if you don't want to go inside the theater yet. The workers are nice. We do wish they bring back the fully loaded nachos. We ordered some today and we just got the normal one. We did wanted extra cheese but it costs $2 extra for that little cup...no thanks. read more

While this AMC is not typically my first choice, I haven't had any bad experiences here and don't mind catching a movie here if my usual spots have no seats available. I recently came here to see the new Spider-man movie, which I loved! I will say that there seems to be some wifi issues once you get into the AMC, so be sure to have your ticket ready to scan or else you won't be able to pull it up on your phone or enter the theater. Also be sure to arrive early because the parking can be difficult since it shares a lot with the Topanga mall. The ambiance is similar to other AMCs in the area and they offer the same concessions/food as well. There used to be dine-in options which I do miss; it was nice to have a wider variety of food to pick from and that they'd bring it to your seat. Still, this AMC is a solid choice. read more

Set-Up and Food & Drinks: The name of the theater says "Dine-In" -- but this is Not IPic Theater * . No one will come to your seat and take your order. This is Not full-service dining at your seat. This is half-service dining. Because you have to go to the concession, and fall in line to place your order. And let the concession staff know to have your food delivered to your seat(s). Ordering alcohol is separate from the concessions. You have to order it at the bar (McGuffin's Bar), right next to the concessions. You can also order your food at McGuffin's but you have to order alcohol as well. Btw, I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and the price? $20.85 ! Man, that is the price at the Beverly Hills Peninsula! We ended up at this theater bec my sister wanted to go to Topanga Social. We never even went there. Anyway, I only recommend this place only if you live nearby. It was a five but now to me the quality as come down for me! It's has clean and spacious auditoriums. They use to provide upscale food and drinks! Now they have downgraded and I can no longer get quality entrees just basic movie food which has been a major disappointment the food offered is what made this location stand out and particularly special from all the other AMCs. We really enjoyed this theater! It was nice and sparkly new. The first time we went though the soda area floor was infested. It was a white shiny surface so it showed everything. Later visits they seemed to have gotten that fixed by installing some floor mats. The lines can be lengthy. It's a popular theater. Def worth having AMC status here to beat the lines. We saw Dune II in IMAX here which was awesome and something else with Dolby sound. Recommend either. They both enhance the experience. The seats here are the true highlight. Reclining and adjustable in many ways. Extremely comfortable. Although I never tried their extensive food options, they have many. We always enjoyed their popcorn though! read more

Surprised to see so few stars? This is one of the nicer theaters on this side of the valley lol. Yeah, concession prices are expensive but that's how theaters make their money. I love that this location is always clean and everything is well-maintained. The reclining seats are always great, makes for a comfy viewing experience. There are plenty of food options and they have a few of those Coca Cola beverage dispensers where you can customize your drink. AMC Topanga 12 is a really nice movie theater located on the second floor right in the middle of all the luxury stores. Our theater was practically above Valentino .I was excited to see Paul Rudd's movie Power Ballad, and as a total karaoke girl, anything involving music automatically gets my attention. A movie about a wedding singer? Count me in! It was entertaining, fun, and kept me engaged the whole time.We bought our tickets at the last minute, so we ended up sitting in the front row, which is usually my least favorite spot. Surprisingly, it didn't matter at all. The theater is set up so well that every seat seems like a good seat. The recliners were comfortable, and they even have a heated seat option. I never use the heated seats myself, but I can definitely see how that would be a nice bonus for some people.Another thing I appreciated was how convenient everything was. The restroom was located right next to our theater, which came in handy when I had to make a quick run in the middle of the movie.The only strange thing about my experience was the survey information printed on my receipt. It said to visit talk2amc.com for a chance to win a $200 entertainment card. When I tried checking it out online, it seemed suspicious and triggered a warning, which definitely made me think twice. The theater itself was great, but I'd be cautious about that promotion.Overall, we had a wonderful time. Great movie, comfortable seating, convenient layout, and a fun atmosphere. Came here with a girlfriend - we both haven't been to the movies in a while. I preordered our tickets. We came to our seats and the movie started. The seats were kinda faded (considering they are somewhat newer). And they were soooo uncomfortable! I was moving around the whole time - reclined and not. There was also trash in my cup holder. The staff was friendly. Parking: it's on the 3rd floor by the Topanga social but parking on that side is usually hard, depending on the time and day. read more

The mall is located in the beautiful Topanga Mall. The theatre seats are comfortable. Got some great merch from the movie. Noticed some people ordered food which was delivered to their seat. The only thing that needs some improvement during the week there is no customer service. We were directed to the concession stand for customer service. By the time we were redirected the tickets that we wanted to exchange for a better seats were already gone. Paul gave us great service and willing to assist. Service with a smile. read more

We were in Theater 12 at the Topanga Westfield with reclining chairs to see The Invite. Movie was great but we sat in the front row and the seats didn't recline enough for our necks not to take a huge hit. The screen was distorted and it was not a good viewing experience as it took a couple of hours for the soreness to go away. The least AMC could do is either discount those terrible seats, or have them recline more than the other seats so you don't have to strain your neck to watch. Everyone around me had the same experience. I've sat first row before and it wasn't this bad so I know it's the theater. And I'm paying the same as everyone. So no, I won't be back even though the movie was great. Experience, zero. read more

First time at this location. Good appearance, not rundown like some theatre Came on discount Tuesday, for the 20th anniversary of pride and prejudice. The concession stands were non stop busy for about 30mins while waiting for friends. And it wasn't because of lack of staff. There were multiple people working. I don't know if it's always busy, but stood it out a bit. The theatre #6 was smallish , which is fine. The seats were comfortable, however the leg part only extends partially. Meaning my legs were hanging , and it was too uncomfortable like that for an extended period. Maybe for kids that's OK , but at my height 5'11 - no So I had to rotate sitting up and partially laying Overall positive experience. But the chairs , was a problem for me. So I have the AMC A-list and I legitimately spent 20 minutes circling trying to find parking. It is an absolute nightmare and unless you actually give yourself 20 to 30+ minutes to actually look for parking, you probably won't even make your movie if you decide to avoid the trailers Tried to cancel my ticket so I could go to a different movie theater, but I wasn't able to. Really bummed as I was looking forward to checking out the theater, but there are way better movie theaters and AMC theaters that there are no issues for parking. They double charge for concessions without apologizing, customer service is consistently odd and seems poorly trained, and I've had projectors die halfway through the movie. Currently sitting in a screening where the movie is not running, the screen is off, and they're still testing speakers with high pitched noises half an hour late. They have a concession stand where you can purchase popcorn, candy, hotdogs and other snacks. They also have a couple Icee machines. The theatres are nice and big and clean. Get your popcorn ready! Modern, large, with a cool dine-in option. The seats inside also lean back via a control button on the side. The screens are huge and the surround sound system is super loud, I wore earplugs during the film, I recommend doing that. They have pizza, chicken, popcorn and a very large selection of drinks. Once you order the food they bring you the food during the movie on a tray. You select your seats as you pay so it's assigned seating. The downside of that is that if the movie is almost sold out the last remaining seats are kind of crappy and you end up sitting next to total strangers. The people I sat next to were talking almost the entire movie. The movie was so incredibly loud though that I didn't really care too much. Plus the earplugs helped. Overall it's a nice theater but it's inside a mega mall so the parking is horrific. Especially on weekends and holidays it's so overwhelming and crowded. read more

I've considered getting the AMC A List for a few years now as it seems like a really cool program but there are no AMCs near me. I am in the middle of the valley between this location in Topanga and Universal Citywalk, both are around 8 miles from my home. This month with Superman coming out and a few other upcoming movies I figured why not try it out. The Topanga 12 is currently the newest AMC in Los Angeles opening in 2022 with the expansion of newest section in the Topanga Mall; the Topanga Social. It's cute with what I believe are mostly smaller theatres so you don't get overwhelmed with lots of people which is nice. There is at least 1 imax screen here as well. The concession line never seems to be too busy and I've gone on 2 Friday nights so far. The dine in feature of them bringing your food to your seat is really nice, although I'd be just as happy to wait in the lobby for my food as someone who struggles with social interactions. Each row has a wall behind your seat creating a great semi-private experience that lets you feel like the person behind you isn't directly over your shoulder seeing what your doing on your phone. My 2 negatives would be as someone who used to see a movie in theatres maybe once a year (normally just wait to stream or buy the dvd) I'm a little confused by the seating options between theatres. I get theatres will have different seats but most will say AMC Signature Recliners, but the seats at Universal Citywalk are soo much better. They seem wider, more plush, and most importantly you can fully recline/basically lay down. The Signature Recliners here at Topanga seem less luxurious, you share an armrest with one of seats next to you, and they don't fully recline which is weird being that it's a newer location. Instead it's a somewhat uncomfortable 45 degree leg raise where your feet will either fall asleep or be in pain. The second thing is parking. Oh dear lord parking is a nightmare. The theatre is located is next to Nordstrom who has reserved basically all the parking in front and around their store so there isn't much parking directly in front/near the theatre. I've had to park and do a 5 minute walk which yes not a huge deal, but considering some movies let out late at night this seems like a safety concern as well as the issue of your car possibly getting broken into with it being possibly in an area of the mall that is now closed and empty. Overall enjoying AMC A List and this location. Not sure I'll keep A List for more than a year at most but it's great getting to see movies I otherwise would have never considered watching and it's great to see how the movie experience continues to improve. read more

This was my first time back in a movie theater since my birthday back in 2020. My son surprised me and said we could go see Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which was good by the way. I like this theater, and I know everything is up in price right now but it was a little on the pricey side this visit, especially since I hadn't renewed my AMC membership. It was almost $30 for two tickets and $58 for popcorn, two drinks and three hot dogs. It was all good though, fresh, tasty, though the customer service wasn't that good if you didn't have the membership, and here is why....minimal to no line with AMC membership, discounts, separate line and service is fast and with a smile. With no membership, you have to wait in the long lines and they don't mind to make you wait while they change gloves, change drawers, inventory check - all this happened when it was my turn and I tried to order from my seat but they said it wasn't available for my show, so to the line I went during the previews and by the time I got back to my seat it was 20 minutes into the movie. Other than that, it was super clean and I enjoyed the reclining chair and the fact that it had a seat warmer (freaked me out at first) was nice but my son had to help me turn it off. lol I got a nice park near the social and it was easy entering the theater right off the elevator. I had a disappointing experience with two staff members during my recent visit. Before the movie, I needed to use the restroom urgently and before purchasing food and drinks (not the type to take food in the restroom nor leave it unattended). Since the restrooms are located past the ticket checking area, I let the staff know I already had a ticket and just needed to go quickly. The armed security guard acknowledged me and said it was fine to proceed, but the employee checking tickets insisted on seeing my ticket anyway. It felt like an unnecessary inconvenience given the situation, especially since I had already explained myself and had no issue showing proof afterward. It's not like it was a weekend or a busy night where immature individuals try to sneak in movies. I simply needed to use the restroom. More frustratingly, the two staff members weren't aligned, which created confusion and made the interaction feel more difficult than it needed to be especially because the armed guard (exposed carry) allowed me to go ahead while the ticket checker demanded to see my ticket. Absolutely ridiculous and the authority seemed to be backwards. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve from there. When I went to order food and drinks, the bartender wasn't welcoming at all and was extremely disengaged. There was no greeting, no communication, and the interaction felt cold and dismissive from start to finish. I am an AMC Stubs A List member so I come to this location regularly. It's usually dirty in the restrooms and the drink area and butter flavored oil station is always a mess and needs attention. I look past that because people can be nasty. But this visit, these interactions left a negative impression. I understand that staff have policies to follow, but basic communication, consistency, and courtesy go a long way in shaping a customer's experience. read more

First time finally watching a movie here! I think that this is a super fun of an idea! The comfort in getting to snack and move around comfortably is a nice bonus. I definitely agree with others that pricing is steep compared to others, but the quality of the food wasn't too bad. Definitely order through the counter because it was convenient and easier. Once you order, they take your seat location and theatre number to make note of where to deliver your food. We got seated 20 minutes before the movie started as they had to clean the threatre first. We got to our seats and saw the food already ready and placed on our tables. Unfortunately, they made a mistake and gave me my buffalo chicken wings plain (no sauce), so I had to get up from my seat and walk all the way back to the counter. Luckily they fixed it easily. For 3 entrees, it priced around $50 total. We got a burger, the chicken wings bone-in, and the ultimate chicken nachos. The burger was a bit small, but it was alright. The size of the chicken wings was a nice large size! They were a 7pc count. The chicken nachos was cold by the time we munched it, and the cheese wasn't that much but the rest of the ingredients made it yummy. The theater is clean but why does the entrance have a funky smell as you go in? The foods were expensive. I would have been ok paying for whatever was posted on the pics.... But they were far from. I went back to just ask them to at least add cheese... since I paid so much for 2 dibs, large drink a not so loaded chicken nachos and a not so loaded tots.... I just didn't want them to remake it and do something to my food upon remake. Come on, I was young once and worked at the theaters and food industry. The movie experience was great. The dining part was a disappointment. We ordered food at least 30 minutes before the movie began. We got it probably 30 minutes into the movie. There was one server bringing food to at least 5 sets of customers. The food was luke warm. I had a burger and there were no condiments that I could taste on the burger and it was so dark that you literally cannot see what you're putting on your food. If I go again, I doubt that I would order the food. You pay all that money for cold food. Bad experience. read more
