As others have stated considering there are always 2 bartenders, and afternoons when the bar is not full at all (6-8 people) It can take forever to be acknowledged much less served. There are very few (2) of these bartenders that have actually been attentive, and I've been there multiple times since they've opened. When it was early in the day and I wasn't drinking alcohol and was eating at the bar, one of the bartenders charged me $4.50 twice because I asked for a refill. (Which took forever to get) and each time I had to flag and ask. I understand if it's because they are busy making lots of mixed drinks etc... But when you see the bartender just standing and talking- That's not cool. The menu used to be limited to wings and fries made off site and brought over. Our bartender at 2/3pm on 12/17 overcharged me by $35 for 2 cocktails and 1 beer. The cocktails were not "speciality" drinks and were $13 each with my beer at $9. So why was my tab $70. Asked for the receipt wouldn't provide one, on the tablet wouldn't show the price or anything, it was automatically filled to 18% tip which I changed after but couldn't find the total. I been coming here for 2 years and I really enjoy the atmosphere and the camaraderie amongst the staff members. I prefer Leila because she is very friendly and on top of her game. All of the staff members work very fast. I love this place. I used to spend a lot of time at Sol Y Luna and HQ Gastropub, but Topanga social is a level above all other places. The camaraderie and the friendship here amongst the guest is next level. I highly recommend this place all my friends and family and come here on a weekly basis. They don't play around with their drinks! I'm a light drinker but having one strawberry whiskey sour already gets me a little buzzed. I don't normally drink whiskey sours at all, ever, but the flavor of this one is very good! The bar is right in the middle of topanga social with plenty of bar seating since it goes all the way around but also tons of regular seating in general with tables. I haven't had anything else catch my eye from here. I mainly drink fruity or tiki style drinks but this spot is great! After moving into a different part of the bar due to a gruff "know what you want" from a barback, we met with Devin and everything turned around. He was great! We enjoyed some well drinks and beer for $7.00. Jim G. was particularly a fan of the $7.0o wings. They are pretty salty, but they paired perfectly with our drinks. The very best part of the night was when King Chris and the Soultopia Show started performing for all to see. They were so good and really amped up the nice vibe we already were enjoying. From the first time we came they had great recommendations and know their drinks . they know exactly what I would like besides awesome bartenders they are hospitable and treat us like family. I've walked past this bar numerous times and made a mental note to stop for a drink next time I'm at the mall. This time I was at the mall, I noticed all the seats at the bar were taken so I was going to check it out another time. I just happened to walk around the bar with the intention to grab a sandwich from Fat Sals and to my surprise was an antique style lounge area located behind the bar. Super cute!! We sat ourselves and ordered a few cocktails off the menu. All cocktails on the menu are made with whiskey and I'm not that familiar with whiskey so our server suggested a drink she thought I'd like. It was sooo tasty. I would've never guessed I was drinking whiskey. My friend ordered a cadillac. She's very critical about different cadillacs and described it as perfect. We ordered a few more cocktails. The only food on the menu were wings and I was not a fan of them. Overall, I loved the lounge, the bartender did his thing and our server was great.
