As she became increasingly upset, the response was to suggest holding her hands and legs to continue the exam. For a non-urgent, first visit, this did not feel appropriate to us. During this time, a second hygienist made joking comments and laughed about our child's distress, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. When we chose to end the visit, we were told "it will be the same next time," rather than discussing alternative, child-centered approaches. This was surprising, as we have had very different experiences at other pediatric dental practices where first visits focus on comfort, narration, and gradual exposure rather than restraint. Parents considering this office should be aware of the approach used here and decide whether it aligns with their expectations for a child's first dental experience.

There is a beautiful mural when you walk in and also a salt water fish tank. It is extremely clean and welcoming inside: there is a book nook, pac man machine, coloring station, and Etch-a-Sketch in the waiting area. In the rooms, there is a cartoon playing on the ceiling to occupy the kids. After each visit, there is a goodie bag, balloon, and stickers! Our daughter actually looks forward to going to the dentist and leaves each time beaming and proud. Zina at the front desk is ah-mazing. She has been there since the beginning and is always super sweet, personable, and helpful. The hygienists and dentists are professional, friendly and do a thorough job. The whole staff, especially Dr. Lunsford and Dr. Acierno are fantastic. Upon my first visit, I met with Dr. Lunsford who is very kind. He stressed the importance of oral health, especially during pregnancy and made sure I kept up with the extra cleanings during pregnancy. Just yesterday, I had to come in for an emergency visit because the porcelain crown came off of one of my molars. I was able to be seen right away that morning, thankfully! Dr. Schultz has made going to the dentist fun by showing her all the tools, with how gentle she is during cleanings, and my daughter gets to pick something out of the goodie box at the end. I recently had my bonds upgraded to veneers on six of my teeth, and the process went very smooth. Dr. Schultz took me in as soon as the veneers came in from the lab (literally called me 30 mins after they arrived!) to switch from my temporaries to the permanents because she knew I had a family party that weekend.
