Twice disappointed with Amedisys. First they send a nurse who never heard of DIEP surgery. She started freaking out when I showed her my wounds. This is the day after I was released from hospital and was contacted to give me after surgery health care. Emotionally, I couldn't handle a freaked out nurse. Never saw her again... I was also supposed to receive pallative care from Amedisys. Someone was supposed to be here at 3:00 today. At 2:32, I got a call from Amedisys that there's a problem with billing. I have MEDICARE, which definitely provides for pallative care. However, Amedisys said that they only had my supplemental, HUMANA Plan G, and it wasn't covered. They claim that when they got the referral, they were only give HUMANA information. Plan G is a NATIONAL MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLAN. You'd think Amedisys would have known that and would have called me before 28 minutes of the nurse arriving. Also, when I was on the phone with Amedisys, I kept getting disconnected or the receptionist couldn't hear me. They said they were having trouble with their phones. They're having trouble with more than their phone and BTW, the nurse never came. read more
