The Economy Shop is literally a Victorian style house with every room crammed with secondhand goods and antiques. They're only open 3-4 days a month from 9am-3pm, so you need to plan your visit. When you enter, you're handed a paper sheet that is divided into different categories of merchandise. When you go to each room, they total up whatever you want to buy from that given room. When you're completely done shopping, you pay at the far back of the house and exit. Prices are fair and you can find some great stuff here. The basement was one area that was overwhelming. Almost too much to look at and fully absorb. Tips for first time visitors: 1. Bring reusable bags or a tote bag. They will give you bags but a good sturdy bag will work to your advantage. 2. Parking is tricky. You're fine on residential streets but if you park along the train tracks, you have to feed a meter. $2.00 per hour. Card payment only. 3. Leave small kids at home. The rooms and hallways are too packed and tight to reasonably manage kids in tow. I like this place! I will be back!

I am usually thrilled with shopping at this great resale store. I have spent alot here & have great…read morethings to say about it. Except for today. Almost any volunteer is wonderful & very friendly & kind. But today I encountered such a rude witch! I am very mellow & I bought alot as everything in the store was half off. Well, I bought so much & when I went to pay there was a beautiful black lady working the register & she is so kind & cheerful. But the woman bagging my items had a very mean attitude. She jumped on me because I removed the hangers. She demanded to know what I did with them. I told her I put the hangers on a rack. She went off on me! It took me by surprise because as I mentioned usually all the volunteers are super nice. This lady has a lousy attitude. She also told the nice clerk the wrong prices. Everything was half off & that nice lady had to correct it. The mean lady proceeded to rag on & on about how now she has to get all the hangers I hung up! I did tell her I am sorry I did not know it was so important to her. But she just acted like a jerk. I never had this experience with anyone there. The baskets are very small & I was shocked this jerk would get on me like this. I remove the hangers to make room for what I buy. She was totally out of line. I posted this on their page & I seen it was removed! Don't they care if someone is out of control working at the store? If I see her again I will not put up with her or just not reply at all. It is hard enough in this world without fools like this around. I spent $64 over there & you would think my business would be appreciated. I have shopped at other thrift & resale stores & always am treated with kindness. This lady should not volunteer if she has such a sour attitude. It is a good store but avoid the small blond with greying hair. I am 68 & do not act so crabby like her. Who ever is in charge talk to this fool & tell her to treat customers with kindness or hit the road. I am sure they can find volunteers who are nice.

The ladies in the shop were welcoming and helpful. I needed a vessel to burn copal in for Dia de los Muertos. I was taken to the terra-cotta cups that she said she used for burning her items to welcome past family back. She also had lots of various sugar skulls, religious icons, Catrinas and some beautiful embroidered clothing. Totally recommend shopping here.

(Note to self, make sure you have cash next time you come here looking for a bargain.) My daughter and I were directed to this store after I pointedly asked in another boutique, "Do you have Kurtas that would fit ME?" This was indeed the place and once inside we quickly got down to business as the most amazing salesclerks ran their eyes down my body and when they looked at me I quickly added, "I would like it to not be very expensive." They pretended I was their dream client (chubby and cheap, yay!) and brought me out Kurtas from everywhere. None really had sizes or prices marked on them. Me: What size is this? Answer: Your size Me: How much does it cost? Answer: I give you good price, better if you have cash. I tried on and tried on and if I didn't think it would fit I was assured they had a tailor who would make it fit. We actually had a ton of fun and of course you realize you are going to buy one and so we did. The two ladies who worked here had made it their mission to please us, it was simply amazing customer service. (And if you have buyer's remorse, well as the signs everywhere stated, No returns! No exchanges!) And it turned out to indeed be my size and a good price! Viceroy of India, here I come!

I was excited to pay a visit and when I did on August 16, I must say I was so floored at all the great buys and excellent quality the items there were. My first visit I fell in love with the owner, Ms. Dorian. She is the absolute best! If you are looking for something, she will do everything to find it for you. I have been here several times. My friend had an open house to get the word out about the business. We had big fun there. My friend was a personal fashion consultant and helped many ladies find cute items as well as having the skill of putting together full outfits. I have bought things from tops, bottoms, jackets, skirts, jumpsuits, dresses, jewelry and even a laptop briefcase. I really love that she has a great selection of African styled clothing there. Every time I go they have a bunch of new styles. They have cute bags- I bought 2 adorable, durable beach bags. Identical, but in 2 different sizes. One for travel, one for use here. I even got my bridesmaids gifts here to ask them to be in my wedding. Gorgeous little mirrored jewelry boxes with a different, hand selected pair of earrings in each. When we went to Mexico I got them gorgeous silk make up bags with their initial on them, all different colors. I stuck an adorable little ball of sunscreen lip balm in them. They even have Juliska dinnerware. Love it.
