Online it says that it accepts my insurance and when I walked in that's when they told me that they don't. Tells me it 60 dollars and when I got done filling out paperwork then it was 160 dollars. So, I believe they really are out for the money and not your well being. Especially if you are out of state! read more

Terrible experience my daughter was sick new years all better now except a lingering croup sounding cough that won't let her rest or talk long, I said let's go rule out bronchitis or worse, Dr took money upfront not knowing what he's going to do, we pay cash, spoke with her a moment and said it was a cold. Excuse me? Stop gossiping with the nurses and pay more attention to the paying patients, she's having a hard time breathing if she's at work and is coughing green ( I know gross) stuff and you say it's a cold? Cough longer than 4 weeks no fever stuffiness or anything else alls good but lingering wet cough she insisted on an X-ray which he said looked good but I doubt he knows how to read it. Save your money and drive over the bridge and see someone else. read more

I had some staples removed and the doctor forgot one staple. I asked for a refund so I could go to a different urgent care to remove the last one and was denied. Now, the doctor did ask me if I could feel any and I said no but I obviously can't see the scalp as clearly as he can and because of surgery that area is all numb. It was an incomplete service and I offered to send receipt of the visit to urgent care that I will need to go to in order to remove the final staple, because I'm sure some people would try to scam and get free service. That's not the case here and I'm not local either so I wouldn't be able to come back in. I don't think it's fair for me to have to pay twice for something like this and everyone makes mistakes so I'm not angry at the doctor but 60$ is not a lot for a doctor's office but is a lot more for an individual. In cases like this it really should be up to the business to take the loss not the individual, this was incomplete service. If I go to a car mechanic and I ask for something to be rebuilt and they ask "how is it driving?" And I say fine but then I figure out they didn't fix something, is it my responsibility? No, it's theirs since they're the professionals working on it. How am I supposed to know if all the staples are removed? I can't see my scalp the way a doctor can looking directly at it and I can't feel everything because it's all numb and feels the same to me. I will be filing a complaint with the relevant consumer protection agencies and any applicable medical ones when I get the time because it's a bit ridiculous they can't give me a refund for an incomplete service. read more

I have always enjoyed going here except the last time. I arrived at their office after my doctors office told me they couldn't get me in and recommended I go to urgent care. I was bent over crying in pain and their nurse practitioner began asking about my mental health. I finally asked why was she asking me this and she proceeded to tell me that I'm bipolar and having an episode, that I'm not in pain. Come to find out I had cysts growing in places they shouldn't and was diagnosed with endometriosis. But I would still go back except I would refuse to see her because she is dangerous AND an idiot. I also am NOT in fact bipolar. I don't know what nursing program she went to but she might want to try a new one. read more

do not show up here with state funded health insurance. don't take it! then you pay out of pocket 160.00. give you an order for a mri. took 3 weeks for the mri people to take the insurance. instead of charging 500.00 it was 47.00. go back to urgent care for follow up. another 160.00. no cut rate, no help at all with helping someone out of work waiting on mri & then have physician who ordered it to tell what's up. so, naturally you go back to the doctor who ordered the test. then after frustration, doctor told him no one in nassau co takes his insurance. have to go to jacksonville. fuming! read more

I was visiting from out of state and was not feeling well. Had come down with the flu. Walked into clinic and was seen promptly even though there were several people visiting clinic. Staff was very caring, with instruction for self care. Dr Jacob really took time to make sure it wasn't something worse. So good to know you can get good care away from home. read more

DO NOT USE AMELIA EXPRESS CARE UNLESS EVERYTHING IS EXPLAINED WITH GOOD MANNERS When I made my appointment for Covid testing I was not told this would be an office visit, she ask for insurance card and ID at that time which I gave her when I went for appointment AND after filling out papers and paying a copay I also had to give them a credit card number for their file. RUDE When I saw the nurse in back she said (you did not fill out your paper work, so I read it to her, she replied oh you typed it . The front office personal was RUDE. I had to ask my husband to take care of the problem. I was at a breaking point. read more

It was a short wait to see someone, probably because the doctor we saw gave us the worst case scenario for a simple allergy and impressed upon us the importance of going to the hospital ER. That got us out of this place fast, so they can see other people fast and do the same for them. Just to follow up- the ER "observed" for a few hours and sent us home. Just returned from a visit to the urgent care. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with their reaction to our visit to treat my daughter's dog bite injury. They reacted with urgency and empathy. They were incredibly thorough. Thank you to Teresa for admitting us so quickly and to Jacob for his tender care of Cate. She was traumatized when she entered, but she left with a smile. read more

Went in for service . The old lady behind the desk acted like we weren't standing there in front of her . She was on her cell phone talking about plants and center blocks! I even asked for the form to fill out and she kept talk on her phone! Worst place ever. Do not recommend anyone going to waste their time with that old hag! read more

Amelia Express Care is NOT an urgent care clinic in contrast to how it is labelled on-line. It functions more like a primary care clinic. If you have not made an appointment in advance, expect to wait and wait. We went there on a Friday morning for an infected arm from animal scratch. There were no triaging, no question of reason for visit, only registration forms to fill out. Completing this, we were 9th in line. After waiting about 3 hours and about 20 people had be seen during this time we were finally second in line. But 5 minutes later it had crept up to being fifth in line as people with prior appointments arrived. From the conversations we overheard, it was clear that several were patients that used this as their primary care place or who had made prior appointments. When we tried to improve our odds by asking for an appointment, the earliest we could have one was two days hence. We consequently left, found on line an urgent care place (LiveHealth Online.) Within 15 minutes we were registered, had uploaded a picture of the infection, been seen by an emergency physician, had the issue resolved and a prescription called in. We recommend that if you have an urgent care issue -- go someplace else where you will not be squeezed in between prior scheduled patients, and only then if if there is spare time. As an urgent care place it is not even worth one star. read more

We live on the island. My husband and I went here days apart for a cold. I'm impressed with this facility and the staff. They have a 'cash' pay price list, if needed. Office is very clean and cheery. Staff and Doc/Pac were very nice. They got me in as quick as possible. We'll definitely use again... although hopefully not in the near future! read more

In these days of Covid-19 it seems that every person with a sniffle, sore throat, cough, runny nose, stubbed toe or hangnail seems to think they have Covid. That being the case I was one of the few patients that was seen for something else. The place was busy, but the staff was friendly. I was impressed with everything and they diagnosed me within seconds of entering the room. I got a shot and two prescriptions. Would highly recommend Amelia Express Care. read more

I took my young son here because he had a cold and ear discomfort. Dr. Jake was great!! They are very kid-friendly. Have a pile of toys in the waiting room and they even give you one on the way out. Most of all, Dr. Jake knew how to work with an impatient toddler, quickly did the check-up and ear infection diagnosis. Easy prescription fill a few blocks away. I brought my daughter to Amelia Express Care for an earache. She was in terrible pain and they greeted us with smiles and were able to get us in quickly. The Dr. was very knowledgeable and even though my daughter wasn't able to hear ( because of the ear infection) what he was asking her he was very good about sitting close and listening intently to what she had to say. We were out of there in no time with a great feeling about her ear ache. I would definitely see this doctor again! read more

There was very little wait time and they took very good care of me. I was very impressed with the facility, staff and the doctor. I live on the island and needed an Urgent Care. Amelia Express got me in and out in 35 mins and coordinated for my prescription to be ready immediately. Really great experience and happy they are close by in the event of an unexpected illness or injury. read more

Fast, professional care and very clean. Overall, a very satisfying experience. I came in on my boat with a bad infection. Called as soon as I got docked. GO ELSEWHERE!!! I am so incredibly surprised to read about how nice the staff is at this clinic. That has not been my experience at all. I have been to all 3 urgent care facilities in Fernandina and this one is the worst. I have given them multiple opportunities and they have failed every time. Dr. Jacob has a horrible bedside manner concerning children. He doesn't know how to handle them. This surprised me considering he has young children of his own. And the woman at the front desk should never be in any type of customer service position. Ever single time I walked in there, she never smiled, she never greeted me, she always had an attitude and left me feeling as though she was doing me a huge favor by assisting me at all. She is combative, rude and unprofessional. And again, I have been to this clinic at least 5 times and this was my experience with her every time. My mother and my husband also visited here independently of my visits and received similar treatment. She has no business representing this business by being the very first impression of the clinic the moment you walk in the door. My overall impressing is she is bitter and hates her job and Dr. Jacob just wants to get you in and out and doesn't take one moment to personalize your experience or get to know you at all. I even tried to crack a joke to at some levity to the experience. I got a stone cold response. I will never go back here again. They have had multiple opportunities to convince me that my experience was an isolated incident and all they did was confirm it. read more

Very prompt, kind care from a well-informed and nice staff! I had a bunch of random questions about immunizations and physicals I had to get for nursing school and they were great at helping me navigate all the lab work and testing I needed to get done, which ones insurance would cover and which ones would be out of pocket, no scamming me out of money after the fact like some offices will do. Very short wait times and I was always a walk-in. Doctor was prompt after my initial in take for my visit, no sitting on paper in a tiny room for an hour after getting pulled back. All nurses were very well informed and looked through my chart thoroughly so they knew what was going on with me before getting started on any of my visits. Thanks for great service! Saw a Dr here today, was having slight chest pains. Dr did a few X-rays and an ekg. Had normal blood pressure. Why I'm giving them a low review is because I arrived at 8:20 and was not seen till 10:00, despite have only two people in the lobby before me. After the Dr reviewed the diagnosis he recommended a CT scan to Check for blood clots, and wanted to set me up an appointment. My issue is that after the insurance company wanted to get more information by speaking directly to the Dr, I had to speak with the nurses, whom essentially said the Dr is too busy. So apparently my diagnosis is critical enough for them to recommend a ct but not critical enough for the Dr to speak with the insurance company directly within a reasonable time. I have been to Patient First, an urgent care center near my home and received much better care and much more promptly. The Dr and Nurses we professional and nice, but I can't help feeling like I've had better care at Patient first and I'm glad I live in a place where better service is available read more
