Good luck stopping in here for just one item. I tried the croissant cinnamon roll, cheese Danish, and a sub they had (I forget what was on it!), and every single thing tasted fresh. The croissant cinnamon roll was buttery, flaky, and perfectly glazed, while the Danish had a rich, creamy filling without being overly sweet. Don't sleep on the sandwiches either because the bread alone is worth the trip. The Stutz location is bright, cute, and there's great outdoor seating scattered around. The staff was friendly and helpful, and everything in the pastry case looked as good as it tasted. I have an allergy and they were able to easily answer questions. This has to be by far the largest Amelia's location. The selection though mirrors the other stores and it is delicious. I come mostly for the breads and the cinnamon rolls made from croissant dough. I do have to say I preferred the 'old' way these were made which was with a lot less icing. But I get that the change was probably done on request as folks generally prefer the extra sweet things here. Don't get me wrong, I will still continue to devour my fair share of these delicious works of art. And you cannot go wrong with the bread around here. I tend to freeze quite a bit of it since I don't live near an Amelia's. I have to say it does freeze well, especially if you toast it a little after thawing it. read more

Great little pastry shop and coffee shop in the Stutts building. Really nice little downtown area built out of an old car factory. It's a multipurpose building and has this nice little area with a café, a bar, some co-Work space, coffee shop, and other places. This Amelia's is a really nice place to get high-end pastries, and specialty coffees. Lots of seating inside the room as well as outside on the walkway. They sell all kinds of things, including sandwiches and drinks and all kinds of things for the workers that work in that area for easy access. The Stutz building wouldn't be what it is today without Indy classic Amelia's Bakery and coffee. Amelia's can only be accessed from its interior courtyard, as far as I can tell. This location has a lot of shelf-stable import Italian foods available for purchase, alongside fresh fruits and dairy products from local farms. Counter service for coffee is pretty quick for a mid-afternoon visit. I got the Neapolitan rose latte from the March spring specials. It was kind of expensive ($8 for 16 oz) but very delicious. It was a floral kind of sweet with the addition of a hint of rose. The pink foam colored with strawberry and beet powders adds to the overall cutesy effect! I also got a cocoa brownie ($2.50, about a 3-inch square) and that is surely chocolatey. I didn't find it to be too sweet but it doesn't lack in that department either. They use a Dutch process cocoa in their brownie to give it that signature dark color. Flavor wise, I can best describe it as an Oreo Cakester without the cream filling. Amazing! Stopped in for the first time and the space is so cute. Found easy paid parking on the street on the corner. I used the signage to figure out how to access the alleyway entrance. I wasn't sure if there was seating inside or not and discovered multiple chairs/tables with plenty of room for a meeting or doing some remote work. I had the best croissants ever at Amelia's yesterday. My husband and I stopped by and bought two amazing pastries. I ate both. The Lemon Croissant was flaky and buttery with the most delicious tart Meyer lemon filling. The second croissant was a Chocolate Croissant with beautiful layers of pastry and a fine layer of creamy chocolate. I kid you not, there were the BEST croissants in Indianapolis (maybe anywhere) by far. While the croissants are large, you won't want to share them. Just saying. The shop is part of the Stutz complex in the food court. They primarily serve pastries, fresh breads and coffee, but also offer a selection of gourmet pantry items, locally sourced frozen meats and fresh salads. The fresh artisan breads were beautiful and I left wishing that I had picked up a loaf. The upscale dining area is perfect as a work space with free WiFi and artistic tables and a comfortable and trendy vibe. The clerks are friendly and attentive. Service was fast. I've been meaning to try Amelia's for a while now, but never got around to it. I recently discovered my new favorite coffee shop (Barista Parlor) which is only a few doors down from here. I was feeling hungry so I decided to stop by for a little bite. I saw the Palak Paneer hand pie and was intrigued, but it was the cashier who sold me on it because she also had one earlier that morning. Omg. It was soooooo good. It had spinach, seared paneer cheese, some spices, and the perfect amount of salt in the filling. The flavor was on point. My only complaint is that the most perfect ginger molasses cookie is not available year-round. It is beautifully spiced, with this amazing chewy-soft texture; it just melts in the mouth. I love Amelia's in Fountain Square, so when I was at the Stutz Art Gallery for an event Sunday afternoon, and noticed Amelia's on the first floor, I just had to stop by afterwards and check it out. I was impressed with how big the space is and how they serve beverages at this location versus the Fountain Square location. The Amelia's at Stutz has a nice area with booths where people can sit and talk while sipping on a latte. The selection of products is better here and the pastries are even better and bigger selection than the Fountain Square location. I ordered the last slice of olive oil cake, which is my favorite, a cinnamon roll croissant, and the bread of the day which was cranberry walnut. I wanted just a half loaf, but the cashier gave me a full loaf at the half loaf price which was an added bonus. The cashier was very nice and professional, and made me smile the entire time. This Amelia's is no comparison to the Fountain Square location. The Amelia's at Stutz has a lot more to offer product wise and beverage wise, and you can hang out inside with friends over coffee or work off of your laptop. It is a wonderful location that is bigger in size and has more products and merchandise to offer to the customer. I would give Amelia's more than just five stars if I could! We were visiting Indy for the week and decided to drop in to their Stutz location on our road trip out of town, having tried their Windsor location the day prior. We went in at about 9am and were excited to see a full pasty case. I decided to get their twice baked pistachio croissant and we also took a loaf of their city sourdough to go. I was absolutely blown away by the croissant. The combination of rich pistachio and chocolate filling paired with the extra flakiness from being twice baked was so delightful. I'd put it up there with one of the best croissants I've ever tasted. Amelia's deserves all of the praise, they are so good at what they do. Along with the great quality and taste of treats, their staff is very friendly and I love the ambiance of the cafe. They have a map on the wall where you can pin your home, so I got to place one on Phoenix, Arizona before leaving. If I find myself in Indy again I know where to go for the best treats! read more

Their hours are great if you want some fresh pastries for breakfast or want to grab some fresh bread after work to go with dinner. Ah Amelia's. My favorite bakery in Indiana. The city loaf, focaccia, and I are old pals. Every once in awhile we'll invite one of the pastries to the party. This location has a gorgeous interior. The lighting is superb inside. This place is bigger than their other two locations with a lot more seating options. They have a beautiful statement piece, a wall of merch in a beautiful cubby display. I need one of those for my home, except half size please. It's beautiful. There's a lot of market goods here too. We already knew that this new Amelia's location in The Stutz would be incredible. Their location in Fletcher Place churns up the freshest loaves of breads, unique pastries, and the top chocolate chip cookie in the state (according to Yelp reviews). This time around, we opted for the cinnamon roll croissant, GenCon-themed lemon bar, chocolate chip cookie, and city loaf. They have a local market inside too with lots of canned drinks, snacks, ingredients and more. We were excited to see San Pellegrino, Hu Chocolate, Matiz Spanish sardines, Route 11 potato chips, and more. We also thought their loaves of bread were very reasonably priced -- about $8 each for a good sized loaf. They have different loaves daily and they last until they run out, but you can also order on their website too. In The Stutz building specifically, Amelia's is located on a cute alleyway with twinkle lights, next to Barista Parlor coffee shop and across the alley from new Julieta Taco Shop. There are little outdoor tables and Amelia's also has inside tables and bar seating along the windows as well. The wide windows bring in a lot of light and make it really beautiful in there. In terms of parking, there is a decent amount of street parking and a lot that is only a few dollars to park in. My only note for improvement would be that the people behind the counter seemed in a hurry and asked what we wanted as soon as we walked in. I would've bought a lot more if I'd had a few more seconds to look in the display case and actually read the menu. We also asked which bread is the most popular and they immediately said the name of one without describing it or recommending others too, so we just kind of blindly went for that one. I was at the Stutz Building for a Yelp event and had some time while waiting for my final business to open. I decided to visit the latest location of Amelia's Bread located inside the recently developed and beautifully decorated Stutz Courtyard. If you know Amelia's, then you already know it's a locally owned bakery with locations in Fletcher Park (Fountain Square), Windsor Park (Near-Eastside next to Kan-Kan), and now downtown Indy's Stutz. What should you expect from Amelia's? Amazing baked goods. I mean it. Simply amazing. Friendly service. Always. I've never had a bad experience. Today's visit was simply outstanding and welcoming. A casual vibe that makes you want to sit down and have conversations. And, of course, a variety of breads, pastries, snacks, gelato, and more including freshly made items and grocery type items that you can take with you. This Amelia's is easy to find in the courtyard with street parking and parking lots both available. The courtyard is wheelchair friendly. Amelia's is on one level and the glass manual doors work quite nicely. There are tables both inside Amelia's and in the courtyard. I'm about a week away from losing my bladder to cancer - an obvious huge shift in my physical being and self-image. So, when I spied this small "you are beautiful" message located on their cash register I nearly shed a tear. Okay. Okay. I did. I did shed a tear. All the goods looked amazing here. I ended up ordering a cinnamon roll croissant since I knew I was getting a coffee during the Yelp event. However, one does not simply pass by an Amelia's. That's actually in the Indy resident handbook. It's not allowed. So, I ate this while chilling out inside and enjoying the art, including some pieces for sale, and just the overall early morning vibe. This was awesome in a myriad of ways. What's not to love about a third Amelia's location? Better yet that they are tucked in the Stutz redevelopment with charming "sidewalk" seating in the courtyard corridor with neighbors that include Industrious, a new taco and coffee shop, Turner's and Patachou. The overhaul and facelift of the Stutz has turned out so beautifully. I popped in to Amelia's for their orange dreamsicle ribbon pastry and a cup of coffee. I enjoyed working from their high top bar facing outward with big windows, the space is filled with natural light. More than any of the other locations, this spot is filled with other local treasures like meats, beans, cheeses, spreads and more. A favorite as always!! Amelia's is my go to stop anytime I am craving a quick bite or midday snack. My personal favorite are the croissants (all kinds)!! The chocolate and plain are wonderful, but the specialty ones are my go-to! The specialty croissants change up every few months and recently the vegetarian one changed to an heirloom tomato with herbed ricotta filled croissant - IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! The filling was so flavorful and paired so well with the soft, but flaky crust. This is a must try! They also have a new danish with candied jalapeño and mango chutney that I will be trying next time. As always, the staff is so wonderful!
