I ordered the creme brulee latte. It was decent. I think the Carmel on the whipped cream masked the taste of the coffee honestly...it tasted a bit old to me as if the coffee had been sitting there for a while. Just had a taste of burnt coffee so not sure exactly. The double chocolate muffin was good. Packaging was a little too generic. Just seemed as if they were store bought and wrapped in plastic wrap. I was in a hurry to get to work but thinking about it after, i probably would've skipped it. I did buy a canned drink. Total for all three items was $15. Ehh in hindsight I definitely don't think I'd spend that much on that. Service was good. Gal was friendly and had a good energy. Shop seemed clean and the seating area was welcoming and comfortable. No extra charge for oat milk? Say less! Command Coffee is the perfect example of - I drive by this all of the time but have never stopped. Well, we finally made a point to do so on an early Friday morning - and I am so glad we did. The space was smaller than I had imagined it would be, but cozy. Comfy seating, clean, loyalty card program available, and they have very friendly staff. The drive-thru opens at early o'thirty (like 4:30am weekdays and 5am weekends) and the inside opens at 6am weekdays and 7am weekends. Command has a rotating seasonal menu and I was able to catch the end of the holiday one to grab the sugar free cookie latte option made with oat milk. It was super tasty - but so rich and sweet that I ended up adding more coffee to it once I got to my office (perfect). I also noted that they had baked goods delivered while I was there so of course I had to get the Pistachio crème croissant (from Leviathan) - MESSY but delicious!!!! I also grabbed the maple brown sugar oatmeal (around $3 for a smaller portion) and it was perfectly warm on a cold morning. I was excited to try this place as it was recommended on a blog site saying to ask for Danny bc he gives the grand tour. Upon arrival,and after stating I was excited to try the coffee as I saw it was a local recommendation- the greeting was less than noteworthy nor did she seem to care. I then asked for her recommendation between 2 beverages which was provided but again the service was subpar at best. The blogger also stated it was "local and affordable". Not as though I couldn't afford my drink but I wouldn't necessarily say $9.32 is "affordable" for a drink. The 3 girls working weren't warm or friendly, personable, and the customer service was disappointing to say the least. I did however, enjoy my drink but I still think $9+ is reaching excessive. AMAZING COFFEE SHOP. I have been meaning to try command out and I finally made it here. I got a black coffee, a danish, and a breakfast burrito. The Danish was amazing--very sweet. The breakfast burrito was good too. It came with some creamy chipotle sauce. Normally I like salsa verde or salsa rojo more, but this stuff was good. The coffee was amazing. Inside it was great. The outside looks kind of like a depressing suburban Starbucks. But inside it's a really chic modern urban coffee shop. It's got a very open modern vibe. This location near the intersection of the Monon bike trail and fall creek bike trail is amazing too. We were so excited to try before a very long day. We went through the drive-thru and ordered a small caramel brulee latte and gingerbread chai. We were not told the price until they handed us the clipboard with a receipt and it said $15. This was only after we waited at the window for 10 minutes. I can do $7 for a really good coffee but to wait 10 minutes in a drive-thru then get a teensy half filled 12oz cup of watered down espresso (no syrup whatsoever). CC did not live up to the hype. Mainly cause of the coffee & cookies. Honey lavender latte had a generous amount of honey but absolutely no lavender flavor. And the oatmeal pecan cookie had such a raw taste felt like chewing metal. Guess it was a reaction of baking soda which made the cookie go bad but I just didn't enjoy my light snack. It was sub par. I was in Indianapolis for Christmas, visiting family. The coffee place I usually go to while visiting didn't bring back their gingerbread lattes this year, so I was looking through all the area shops to find a place that did have the drink and would be open the day after Christmas. I ended up finding a couple of options, but when I saw their post on Instagram about their spicy gingerbread latte, I found my spot. The shop itself was apparently a Starbucks in a former life, but I prefer it in its current form. I swung by here around 9am on Sunday, and there wasn't a wait to order. There's a drive thru to make the place convenient, but I wanted a chance to take a look inside. The shop itself is a bit Spartan, but that might be because they opened during a pandemic. The workers were also particularly friendly. The coffee itself was quite good and reasonably priced. I will have to add this to my list of shops to visit when in town. If you are zooming by you might just miss it! Command Coffee opened not too long ago (less than a year I think) and I have been wanting to stop in but haven't made the time to go until today. If this is the first review you are reading of mine, I am exploring different coffee shops in the city (mostly downtown). That said, I decided to check out Command Coffee. I am a remote worker and am often looking for a place to post up for a few hours to get out of my home office so my coffee shops reviews are based on that. I have been breaking them down into sections: Parking: Plenty plenty of parking. They have their own lot which makes it easy, I will say I was coming from the south end of college during rush hour, there was a car that was right on me so I didn't turn right into the parking lot but went down a block and turned around so I could turn in a little more easily and not hold up busy College Ave traffic. But once in the parking lot it was great. Since I spend 95% of my time downtown it is rather refreshing to not have to pay for parking. That is totally a plus in my book. Greeting: When I walked in I was greeted right way with a "Welcome In". That's nice. Its so small it doesn't cost a thing but it really does make you feel warm and fuzzy when it happens. It was my first time in so I asked the barista what is the most popular drink right now, he told me the marshmallow latte, I told him I didn't like sweet drinks and he told me various ways I could get it to tone down the sweetness and I took his advice (it was very good). The vibe was very cool, a mixture of people there, some working, some chatting, some solo some with groups. All ages, genders and ethnicity. Seating: A decent enough amount of seating. I will say while I have a very nice MacBook the battery is terrible so it is very important to me that the coffee shop I'm working at has outlets near the seating area. At the tables there are a few seats that have outlets near by so I was fine. The other tables didn't look like they did so I was happy I was able to snag one. They do, however, have a large high top table that has tons of outlets but again its a high top table which you would be sharing with other people. If you are fine with that, then that set up works great. I prefer a table to myself so if you are lucky enough to get one there seem to be outlets. Music: If you go to coffee shops you know music can be playing in the background. They do play music it appeared to be like a 80's playlist where Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson type music was being played. I will say it started to be slightly annoying the longer I sat there, maybe because it was a little loud. It could stand to be turned down just a few notches. Coffee: As mentioned above my coffee was very good. I purchased a 14 ounce coffee and it was $4.23 not a bad price at all. Overall a really solid place to work remotely and have good coffee too. I absolutely love this place! I usually get the latte and this time I got the chocolate muffin. The latte is always consistently good and strong. The chocolate chip muffin was also a great mix of sweetness but not overpowering. From an atmosphere perspective, it is literally the perfect trifecta with a drive thru, indoor seating, and parking (surprised that a lot more don't have all 3). One of the first independent coffee shops I know that has a drive thru which makes it really easy if you are on the go. I usually study inside and always can find seating which is ideal. The staff are awesome too! Some of the friendliest people I've met and listened to. Overall, great vibes all around. I do wish they had outdoor seating but maybe sometime in the future. As soon as I saw a new coffeehouse opened in Indy that also has a drive-thru, I absolutely knew I needed to get there soon. Command Coffee is located at the corner of Fall Creek and College in the location that was previously a Starbucks and briefly another business before Command decided to move in. Command is locally owned (Yay!) and they open up at 4:30am during the week and 5am on weekends. They stay open until 7pm. They emphasize fast and healthy food options, a comfortable and clean environment, and the usual coffeehouse products including coffee/tea, lattes, cappuccinos, flat white, macchiatos, hot chocolate, iced coffee, and other blended beverages. I'm not sure if the interior is open yet, though they have a convenient drive-thru with the typical menu board. I will note that the menu doesn't quite have all their options - for example, there's only one size of iced coffee listed, but they actually have both 16 and 24 ounce drinks. If you remember this as Starbucks, much of the exterior situation is the same with ample parking, a drive-thru that starts toward the back of the building, and a building that has largely stayed the same from the outside with obvious major changes in terms of branding. Command Coffee appears to be a diverse organization and they have a strong racial equality statement on their website. They are supporters of NAACP. I used the drive-thru today and was greeted in a super friendly manner. I mean really friendly. Did I mention friendly? They asked my name and actually were conversational in tone and while taking the order. They clearly wanted to get my order right and make sure I got what I wanted. They laughed about how basic my order was - essentially a 24 ounce iced coffee straight up. Why ruin perfection? They didn't rush me for my order and were prepared to explain anything that needed an explanation. They do have food options - primarily healthy, light sandwich options. Anyway, It came in at about $3.45 if I remember right. I'd say most of their pricing is in the Starbucks range or a tad lower, though they are local. I may be wrong, but my sense is they hope to grow (I get this from reading their website), but this is their first location. My drink was ready quickly and the crew that I saw were wearing masks and following health guidelines. They have the same curb cuts and parking from Starbucks - thus, they do have accessibility. I'm a sucker for good customer service and this was definitely an occasion where I felt better after leaving and had a nice iced coffee. They do also roast coffee and they currently have a Colombian Peaberry that you can purchase either online or most likely in at the store. I will most likely be doing this in the near future. This was a fantastic first visit and while this location is a bit out of my way there's simply no doubt I'll be returning. read more

I liked it! Just didn't love it due to space. The lattes are served HOT and with the lid off took longer to cool down than other places. Now this is great if you are getting it to go but less so if you are there to hang out and want to drink coffee lol. The seating options are limited - standard 2-seater tables with a bench on one side. A couple tables. Some chairs. It's really small so I don't plan on returning. The coffee itself was good! Heard about this from a Facebook group and boy was I in for a treat! Not only do they have a drive thru, but a whole parking lot along with additional street parking! It was pretty busy on Sunday morning, however they were so fast. I totally missed my name being called and when I went to check on it they ended up happily remaking my order. The staff is beyond sweet and so good at communication. I had the sausage breakfast sandwich and it was pretty good, typical breakfast sandwich that I probably wouldn't get again. I've been following the plans for Command Coffee's opening date on Nextdoor and when I saw they were open I was thrilled! I drove through on their first day in business and had a great experience. They open as early as 4:30AM, folks! And right now it is drive-thru only. I ordered a latte for me and a "dry cappuccino" for my fancy husband. Both drinks were served quickly, tasted great, and were well made! I'm excited to see more of their menu offerings become available - since it was their opening day some of their small bites weren't available just yet. Prices are definitely comparable to Starbucks -- but LOCAL. The staff were kind, efficient, and apologetic for it taking a little extra time on their first day (which was totally unnecessary because I was in and out in less than 4 minutes). The manager (or owner?) popped his head out of the drive thru window to thank me and tell me that they're excited to expand to in-store service when it is safe to do so.
