When we did our research for our move from CT to FL in May we came across AmerApex Moving/ Alex Macgaliard. Alex was very kind and answered our questions, the communications line was open and he replied by phone or text promptly. We scheduled a thorough walk through of our house via FaceTime, opening all the closets, cabinets, attic, basement and, shed. Everything was exposed. According to Alex, we needed a 43' truck, two men, everything would be wrapped and loaded in +/- 4 hours. At this point we asked him, if he was sure 2 men would be enough. Alex confirmed positively. We looked at his reviews and they were all in his favor. We came to the agreement that I would put everything in boxes and AmerApex would wrap all the large items, paintings, furniture, art.... Yes, ma'am! So, we signed his contract, took the additional $300 insurance and, gave a deposit. As we got closer we had a few conversations. I wasn't sure about the size of the truck and the amount of movers. So we ended getting a 53' truck, 5 movers including Alex. FYI, not all of his guys spend time in the gym. Even thought, Alex repeats it during his sales pitch, Yes, ma'am! Two days before moving day: We get a call from Alex. Problem our move is getting pushed back by one day. We'll come tomorrow morning 9am. Next day, movers started to arrive around 10:30. None of these people knew Alex or have ever worked with him. They were movers from the Tri-State area and weren't going to follow down to Florida as Alex had mentioned during his sales pitch. Yes, ma'am! Alex wasn't there, so I told them to start bringing the boxes out and mover wasn't careful with the boxes so I positioned myself at the receiving line. Eventually Alex pulls up around 12:30. He was delayed due to picking up moving supplies! A large pickup with a 53' trailer parked in front of our house. Not the type of moving truck we were expecting. After 4 hours, a mover had to leave. Once he left the others started to complain and the mood wasn't pleasant. That's when Lauren jumped out of the pickup truck. Lauren is Alex's companion, she spent the entire time until then in the running truck with her son/toddler and a dog. So Lauren starts to help wrapping and collecting all the hardware. We are watching all this and the red flags are popping up in our minds. My husband and I are both on our feet now and watching how our belongings are getting handled. When I heard them dragging my couch I screamed. Alex, was part of it and said "Did she see this?" Of course I did. "Lift the items, PLEASE!!!" Around 5 - 6 pm we concluded that this wasn't moving according to schedule. So My husband, our two daughters and I started wrapping. Every item we wrapped because they were larger, we asked Alex how he would recommend it. Around 11pm, the last items were going in the truck. Our dining table (Value of $4500) was ready to get put in the truck, no wrapping/no blanket/no bubble wrap. No protection. No one cared anymore. My husband said stop and he wrapped it himself cause everyone was done. Some of the movers where lying on the street. I mentioned they could rest on the little wall. Nope! stayed on the street. I saw an item in the truck and told Alex to wrap it. He said "Don't worry it's not going to brake." I insisted. Two items didn't make it in the truck. The 53' truck was at full capacity they had to push the doors in order to close them. During this time my dear friend/neighbor came to me, "He was concerned about this little boy and a dog who had spent 90% of the time in the truck that was still running." The entire experience till now was exhausting and uncomfortable. The movers weren't happy cause it should've been a job for at least 6 movers (As one of the movers expressed.) One mover in particular dragged, threw our items. No respect at all. This was our first move. We have beautiful items and we always took well care of them. They were in mint condition. This is also the time where Alex informs us he's going back to Boston to finish a job from the previous day!!!!! The initial plan was to drive directly from CT to FL. Remember this was suppose to be a 4 hour move. Thinking we would be on the road at the lates by 7ish. It was 11:30pm, we went straight to a Marriott Hotel in our town. Came back, to our home early the next day. We cleaned up our property and the street from the trash (boxes and pallet) that was left behind from the movers. Florida, Alex pulls up with his truck, trailer, Lauren, toddler and dog. A new moving crew is waiting to start. This time we had 4 movers. As soon as the large items started to come in we realized we had a problem. Every item was either broken, punctured, scratched, missing parts or had blue marks on it from the wrapping blanket. We started to take pictures of everything as it was coming in. Alex was in the truck unwrapping and trying to make it look as good as possible. (To Be Continued below Part 2) read more

(Part 2) At a point my daughter's desk came in and the legs of her desk got snapped/cracked. We looked at it and we talked about it. Alex was standing behind the wall waiting. Not saying a thing. Meanwhile Lauren was doing all the inspection and reporting to Alex. She saw everything cause she came right after we inspected. When it was time to provide the hardware and keys. Lauren didn't have some of it. She got aggressive and defensive and told me it was my responsibility. "Not true, you're the moving company that's your responsibility. My job is to make sure my family gets from CT to FL in a timely manner". That's when her true side came out. I cut the conversation short. Later on, she got into a tense conversation with my husband. While Alex just keeps on walking away. At the end, the movers are gone and it's just Alex and Lauren in our new house. I told Lauren to leave my house, I explained to her she wasn't welcome and she could be excused. Alex, my husband and I went through the entire house and showed all the damage. It was heartbreaking and so frustrating. But we knew we had an insurance so we stayed polite and wanted to know the next steps. Alex informed us we had 30 days to create a document where every single item needed to have a picture, time of purchase, amount paid and, receipt. Once he got the document he would send it over to his insurance company. We asked who is the insurance company/agent? He insisted that relationship was only between him and the insurance company we weren't part of the conversation. BIG RED FLAG! Around this time a police car showed up at our house. Confused I go to them. Alex had placed a 911 call in regards to Lauren. He was scared she was going to do something weird, As he mentioned to us, "cause I know Lauren!" Looks good when you are moving into a new neighborhood!!!! We weren't comfortable to pay the remaining balance. Alex said it was what he needed to keep his company rolling and that the insurance would take care of it all. A couple of emails/texts were exchange regarding all the details needed. The required list was made, however didn't give a $ value for the paintings. This way the insurance company had to contact me. Emailed it to Alex in less than 30 days. At that point, Alex never followed up. We emailed, texted and, called. Nothing! Till this day he hasn't contacted us and neither has an insurance company. So we hired a lawyer, who called, sent out a certified letter of demand. Nothing! So with the lawyer we started to dig into who Alex and his company are. I'm only going to tell you that there's no insurance company. So that's a fraud to start. But it goes on and on..... So please listen when I say, "We wouldn't recommend Alex, AmerApex Moving to anyone. As much as he's a sweet talker, Yes Ma'am! He won't deliver on his promise and I'll have warned you." What an amazing experience! Not only were these movers on time, they were early! They communicated 100% of the time and did everything they could to make the experience 5 star. Brian and Nick were our movers and they were fantastic! They moved quickly and actually made it from California to Texas in only 3 days! Nothing was damaged, everything arrived in tact! Not only that but they were extremely polite! Everyone from the owner to the actual movers were just amazing! And did I mention that they charged half what the major moving companies charged? This was the worst move we have ever had and we have been moved 4 times. They were late showing up by 3 days it took them a week to load then another 6 days to get to SC they left stuff behind dented our refrigerator and broke other items my 8 year old granddaughter could have packed better than these people they got off the street read more

I never write reviews, although I really should considering I base my online purchases and services mainly on reviews and the companies response to said reviews. Stay with me on this since it will be long winded and tiresome with many hopes and disappointments, such as a cross country move. So, here is my review so someone can make a diplomatic decision before using AmerApex moving company. The first interaction with Alex was great he's a likeable charismatic man who speaks to you like you are a human being. His price was fair considering our cross-country move was in the peak moving season (which is why we did not go with our preferred moving company, Allied). We pushed for the video call to give him a tour of our home since we do have large furniture and a barn. After the video call Alex upgraded the "truck" size to a 46 ft truck in fear only 90% of our belongings would fit on the smaller truck, but 100% guaranteed our home would fit on the bigger "truck". The 50% deposit was given and an additional $300 for insurance coverage since, anyone who has moved knows the standard insurance does not pay much for damaged items. The movers were a few hours late which was okay since we prepped everything so it could be a load and go move. First worry: The dodge pulls up with a pull behind trailer which was indeed a long 46 ft trailer however anyone who knows the difference knows you do not get as much height or cubic feet with the type of trailer they pulled up in as you would with a standard semi. To give you an idea a standard semi- trailer is roughly 13 feet high compared to 9 feet high trailer. But with Alex's reassurance in our head we rest easy and stay out of the mover's way. Coming to the end of the load with the majority of our stuff on the truck and obviously running out of room we hit worry number 2. Our stuff won't fit. Alex came to the solution that they will rent a Penske truck for the remainder of our belongings with us paying half the cost of the Penske truck. Obviously, the answer is yes, most of our belongings are on the trailer already and anyone in that situation does not have much of a choice in the matter. Side note: We have moved cross country in the past and have seen our items packed in like sardines which is to prevent damage and the obvious reason to utilize all nooks and crannies. This was not the case with the packing of this trailer. The movers arrive only a day after we arrive to our new home which is very nice because as comfortable as my air mattress is I love my bed more. Apparently, they had a blow out on the trailer en route. Things happen that we can't control no biggie. Hey, we're understanding people. Truck is being unloaded and while some boxes are crushed, upon opening all is well inside the boxes, however multiple pieces of furniture were damaged in the move including items on the Penske truck which did not have any detrimental road occurrences. That's fine we know the risks in moving cross country which is why we purchased the additional insurance. Jokes on us after two weeks and no response from Alex about filing an insurance claim. Here we are at the end of our journey repairing furniture since eh we're a fairly capable family, and having Alex call us liars and claiming we added to our inventory because everyone goes out and buys more furniture before a big move, right? Truth is we had less furniture thanks to let go and Facebook Marketplace. We will not be receiving any reparations or even a civil conversation from AmerApex based on Alex's responses to our concerns and attempts at the very least receiving a reimbursement for the $300 spent on the additional insurance if he didn't wish to honor the claims. I really felt this needed to be written since I too was persuaded by all the phenomenal reviews on their website which now makes me wonder who are these review writers? I don't say this to sound conceited but so people understand our character, we're a nice family who tipped everyone involved and appreciated all the hard work the movers accomplished in so little time but unfortunately a decent experience turned sour due to Alex's reaction and treatment of customers after the bill is paid. The sad truth is all those little mishaps and worry inducing incidents were overlooked due to the fact Alex and movers were friendly and reassuring up until the bill was paid and they were done with us. The fact that Alex was so worried about having them unpack the trailer before the rest of the payment was received makes a little more sense now. C'est la vie. read more

When I saw this moving company it was move at first sight. They took care of my whole apartment in Louisiana and moved me back here to Frisco. Not ONE scratch on any of my furniture(: The owner of the company, Alex took care of everything and made the move nice and swift.
