I expected a great lounge. The food choices were mediocre. I should have gotten a corned beef sandwich from the terminal. We had 5 hours before our flight to Heathrow. Mostly Mediterranean stuff, a salad and 2 soup choices. I was in the United flagship lounge in Newark and it was great. No fruit and items didnt rotate. Brooklyn beer was nice. No bar and wine was left out. Plenty of seating and no newspapers. read more

Tips for the " First Class" ( pun intended) passengers, travelers and especially families: 1) The first tip is please do tip all the servers and especially the kind folk who go around with the cart and patiently pick up all of our plates, forks, toothpicks thrown and dangerously spread all over the floor ; glasses & coffee mugs with a smile. 2) I love kids and adore my grands. Please do accompany your children, stay with them and serve them all the amazing Mac n cheese and finger food & desserts with the spatulas/tongs provided thus helping your lovely kids keep their hands clean and not get dirty from grabbing the cannolis, brownies, cookies and the jar with the M & M's. Hey parents, why not start by not picking the carrots and celery with your dirty freakin' hands when the fork/tongs are right there. This is " First Class". 3) This is a privilege and a beautiful earned perk by us who either pay top $$$$ or are George Clooney esque Million( multiple) mile club members ( movie " Up in the Air", 2009 w Vera Farmiga & Anna Kendrick ) and frequent flyers. It is an honor and very deeply appreciated. The tone of these last couple of hundred words in no way reflects the amazing, fantastic, spotless, convenient and warm welcoming environment and conditions in the American Airlines Flagship First Class Lounge in Terminal 8 of JFK airport in New York. What we always, always receive and get are- a) beautiful smiles and welcomes from the check in desk staff who are so proactive. They make an effort to pronounce your name properly. Rare! b) access to great, hot showers in big suites with a dental and shaving kit. ( all free). c) contact with some amazing folks who selflessly and tirelessly clean up and keep the buffets full every few minutes. d) a secret menu including sushi ( oops no longer a secret) , not just the bar menu with hot pretzels and paninis. Healthy choices - salads, fresh veggies, hummus, olives. e) immaculate restrooms with top notch soaps and hand creams. f) choice of really comfortable sofas in a very large area where one can nap and relax. g) a kids room with a lot to occupy and interest them. h) a kids menu i) dozens of outlets and sockets( all working ) to plug in the I phone which is at 37 percent power. j) a stadium like seating room with a biiiiig screen tv and seats with cup holders. k) fresh finger food - tea sandwiches, assorted cheese and grapes coming out every 15-20 minutes. l) love and kindness from great employees like Satti ( 5/8/25) and Abigail ( 4/15/25) who exude warmth and service. Amazing folks. m) dedicated personnel who jump to rebook and reroute you in the event of a long flight delay or cancellation. n) peace and quiet that sets the tone before that 14 hour hop to Tokyo or the sept heures to Paris. I love America(n) Airlines and the lounge and the staff here make that bond even stronger and for life. read more

Got here early enough to check out the Flagship Lounge and it's so big! I like the buffet and was hungry enough to eat everything. They have a few gluten free options like oatmeal and yogurt and strawberries. I highly recommend coming in for breakfast before your flight. read more

Ladies and gents, I love this lounge!! I was told by a representative in the Admirals Lounge at another gate that I could use this "VIP" lounge since I was flying internationally. This location closes at 1am, the other lounges closes at 10:30pm. That's perfect for me since my flight out of the country leaves at 1:30am. The design of this spacious flagship lounge is sleek and modern. There are plenty of seats, booths, tables, single booth type comfy chairs with an outlet. Outlets are plentiful here along with the space to move around to the different areas if you so desire. There is a section for food in the lounge that is sort of the norm, they also have a separate section of the lounge labeled The Tasting Room. The booths and seats in that area are cozy and the lighting is dim. My favorite thing about this place is that the wine, alcohol, and beer are all SELF SERVE!! I have only seen this at a lounge in Japan and I remember thinking, "Why aren't we doing this in America?" It's nice to not have to deal with the everyday bartender/customer banter then worrying about what is is a decent tip when we're receiving free spirits due to our membership. I'm not against tipping and I know that's how our bartenders make a good portion of their living. I myself was a bartender for 1.5yrs after college. It's just nice to not have to worry about that while still in America. There's a beautifully set up wine tasting table with several bottles of different types of wine with wine glasses surrounding the table. There is a cooler for different types of beers. A station towards the end of the food section has several types of alcohols with a variety of tonics, sodas, and ginger ales in a refrigerated section beneath the alcohols. read more

Located above terminal 12 known as the Greenwich lounge at JFK. If you are in business or first class you can come in this upscale premium lounge. They have restaurant quality dishes buffet style as well as more high end wines. Great perk when seated in business and first class. read more

Definitely one of AA's best Flagship Lounges. Large and modern inside, you'll be greeted with a glass of champagne at the door. There is plenty more inside to pour yourself a refill with along with oodles of other wines and liquors to enjoy. There is a special section with instructions on how to make a local signature cocktail as well with all the ingredients right at hand. The buffet is extensive with many hot and cold choices. Various canned and bottled drinks are available to grab from the fridges. Staff are constantly circulating to clear away plates and dishes. If you're eligible for access (or if you wish to pay the $150 fee for a day pass) you should definitely visit this Flagship location! It's light years ahead of the Admiral's Club. read more

WOW! I was lucky enough to get access to the Flagship lounge a few months ago on an transcon business award ticket that passed thru JFK. It's probably the swankiest domestic airline lounge I've been to (besides Centurion lounges). At first entry, you are invited by a staff member with a glass of champagne. After getting the  glass, the first thing I said was, "Wow! This is so fancy (and that it's my first time)". Definitely felt like a newbie there as the staff member chuckled and further welcomed me in. This definitely started my experience off right. As for the food... WOW. There were was so much to eat, from cold salads, to hot soups, to different hot and  cold entrees. I was pretty hungry so I had seconds of most of the food items.  AA partners with some celebrity/local chefs who design/influence food items onboard as well as for their lounges. There's also an extensive wine selection, found in a wine bar area in the center of the lounge. The wine bar is usually serviced by a staff member, who is free to pour you whatever your heart desires -- though, I did some folks in the lounge just refilling / pouring their own glasses. As for the bathrooms, they were spotlessly clean, ample. wide and airy.  I didn't get to use the shower facilities during my visit. I wanted to also give a shout out to those who worked here at the lounge. Everyone was very friendly, attentive, and prompt (e.g. plates are cleared quickly). I don't get to fly AA very often, but if I am ever to fly business with them and pass thru JFK, I'm definitely going to be back. read more

American Airlines Flagship First Lounge - Yummy food! - Airport Lounges Near Me - Jamaica, New York

For the rest of us who are constantly going to the Admirals Club, the AA Flagship First Lounge feels like a true upgrade in the airport lounge game. Per American, it is their true premium lounge, complete with all the souped up amenities that scream indulgence at every turn. It's modern and it's spacious. With such expansive seating options across the venue, there is actually far less people than Admirals Clubs and other popular lounges. This is mainly because if one isn't first class or ticketed for an international / transcontinental flight with a qualifying frequent flyer status, then there's no access at all. Right off the bat, the food is restaurant quality. From premium spreads on the buffet to custom meals prepared by the kitchen, there's a little something for everyone. The food isn't Centurion quality, but a little sushi here, seafood ravioli there, and short-rib tacos here makes for a mean variety of eats. Finish it all off with a champagne or nice cocktail, and it's suddenly the best kind of pre-board meal. Aside from the premium wine tables, specialty cocktail bars, I really appreciate the shower suites. These rooms are way bigger than the usual hotel-small sized showers and the water pressure is pretty ideal as well. I could certainly get used to getting ready here over just about any other spot. However, the one knock was the service, which was slow. Slow to clean up, slow to take our orders, and were generally not available when we needed them. I would argue that they're understaffed, but they seemed to have a decent flow of people going in and out of the back (although they seemed busy). I am already looking forward to my next visit. I'll aim to stay at least a few hours here to take advantage of all the amenities. read more

Gayle and I flew Business Class as part of our recent trip to Spain. For long trips like this, we enjoyed the extra flight comfort and the opportunity to relax in 3 different airport lounges at ORD, MAD, BCN, and JFK. Yes, this is more expensive that flying coach, but we could afford it, and as Gayle often says" "Who wouldn't want to be comfortable?" That's why I sometimes refer to her as my "1st Class" Wife. We visited the JFK Flagship Lounge on the way home, after flying in from Barcelona and a quick trip through customs/immigration thanks to our Global Entry card. AA's Flagship lounges offered us a nice selection of adult beverages, a nice food selection, and nice comfy chairs to relax. As much as I appreciated this air traveler perk, apparently many others were also enjoying it, as it was fairly busy, including a lot of families. Hence, our seating choice options were strategic, the yummy food selection ran low at times, and dishes were a challenge to locate. But you can't look a gift horse in the mouth, right? read more

I left the Admirals club because it was too packed and dirty. The FF is 100% better than the Admiral's club. Spacious and they offer a quiet room. The food was presented nicely and everything was clean. Bathrooms were maintained as well. Loved it. read more

After arriving on a red eye flight from Los Angeles we were both hungry and not much was open in the airport for a quick bite and coffee. We decided to stop at the AA Flagship Lounge and it was great. Plenty of open seats, great food selection, a espresso machine, clean restrooms,showers and friendly staff. The staff here is so helpful with keeping the lounge clean and picked up dirty dishes in a timely manner. I highly recommend stopping here for breakfast and coffee/mimosas before starting your day in the big city or waiting for your connecting flight! Cheers! read more

My husband and I had the pleasure of being allowed into this lounge because we had business class tickets to Rome. We haven't been impressed by most of the American lounges but this one was very nice. Even though it was very busy, the layout made it so you didn't feel like you were on top of everyone like it other AA lounges. They had better food options and awesome wine options. Usually you have a choice of a complimentary red or white wine and then you have to pay for the others. In this lounge, there was a setup with numerous options which was self-serve. They had a few roses which I was thrilled with because I was so overheated from walking in the humidity from our hotel to here. We met a very nice lady who sat near us and we had a nice conversation with as well. I've never had issues with any of the staff at any of the lounges. They've always been very welcoming and eager to help. Even when we entered this lounge we were made to feel welcomed. However, there was some confusion on our app with our luggage being loaded onto the plane and I felt like I needed clarification. I went out to the front and spoke with a woman with longish thick blonde hair. She had been very nice when we checked in but she became an outright witch with a capital B when I asked her the question. I had to ask the question several different ways and she kept interrupting me in a very intimidating and was becoming more and more belligerent. Usually I don't take this crap but I didn't want to get kicked out of the lounge . None of her co-workers were engaging so my guess is she's probably a real treat to work with as well. Finally after about 5 minutes of back and forth, she finally addressed my question. Her attitude was not acceptable. I get we're in New York and I get they tend to be more direct which I love but she was just an outright jerk. She was actually being a bully to me and I probably should have reported her. Other than that our experience was great but I left with a lump in my throat because she took that from me when she gave me attitude because she just couldn't answer my question and for some reason wanted to target me with her aggression. I wonder if anyone from American Airlines actually reads these reviews? read more

A beautiful respite between flights and great place to relax and rejuvenate. Friendly staff and beautiful interior with a nice touch of offering a glass of champagne as you enter. There is plenty of seating area and feels spacious not at all cramped. The buffet area has a good selection from sandwich offerings, roasted potatoes, desserts, sushi even! The fridge has various cold drinks: orange juice, beers, and water. Looking forward to the Coca-Cola freestyle machine to be back up and running. The vibe here is different than the Admiral's Lounge: this one feels brighter and more cheerful than some of the others I have been to. The seating area is comfortable with plenty of options for different set ups. Overall a wonderful experience. read more

Came here expecting what we have seen from Americans Flagship lounges in other areas and have to say very disappointed. Air conditioning is broken and it is hot as hell in here, toilets were clogged up, one sink isn't working. This is not what is expected from their premier lounge. read more

Flying first class been sent to 3 different lounges then when we get here after 30 more minutes of walking around..... no plates, food almost gone and what available is cold. This is supposed to be their new lounge and I spoke to management about the issues and she couldn't really give us answers. You shouldn't spend so much to travel 1st class to get that kind of service. Would no recommend lounge. American Express lounge is much better!! read more

I'm flying Qatar airline on a morning flight on a Friday and this is the lounge they use for flying business. This was a quiet lounge with self service of food and drink. They serve alcohol after 8:00am. This is all free of charge. Overall all clean quite and relaxing while I was in the lounge. read more
