I didn't have to wait and there were plenty of seatings. Maybe the increase in annual fee and the fact you can't bring guests in for free have helped solve capacity issue in the past years. Unlike chase sapphire next door, there was always a mob waiting. Food quality has declined tho. One protein, one carb, a couple salads, and a soup. Generic cookies for desserts. The attendant seemed annoyed but whatever. The upstairs was full. It's 6:30am and packed. I went downstairs. Elevator broken. Sign said they'd make up for it. Ha. Nope. They had a buffet downstairs also and plenty of seating. It was good. The scrambled eggs were some of the best I've ever had. A true winner. The staff down there was friendly and attentive. This two story lounge in New York is one of the largest I've visited. It offers all the amenities one would expect from a centurion lounge. It was clean and the food was delicious. The staff routinely cleaned tables as guests departed, which decreased the wait time for others to gain access to the lounge. I did find the lounge a bit awkward to move about and a little overcrowded. However, what I found most interesting was a "speakeasy," which, was located on the bottom level and sat concealed behind two large brown doors. This Centurion Lounge is weak in comparison to other Amex Centurion Lounges I've visited. Not a great design, on 2 levels and confusing, not comfortable seating and club is in need of refurbishment. Club is not sufficiently staffed. The food offerings were weak in comparison to Miami and Dallas, for example. Did enjoy the Marinated Chicken and the Cabbage Slaw from the buffet. The have Veuve Clicquot Champagne at the bar, which I always appreciate. So, much better than a standard club, but not up to the standards of most of the others Amex has... need to raise the bar. JFK is hard to deal with normally, but with the major construction going on now, it's very difficult to navigate. With LaGuardia now revamped and so nice, such a better choice when traveling to NYC. read more

The Centurion Lounge at JFK airport is was ok but not my favorite Centurion Lounge. It is located in terminal 4 and you can enter regardless of which terminal you are actually flying out of. There was no wait to enter. That said the lounge felt small for such a major international airport. The lounge ran out of forks so I scooped by eggs with a spoon. Overall: A // 5 stars As a frequent flyer out of NYC, this is my default lounge that I frequented many times over the past several years. At its core, Amex offers a set of truly premium lounges that have high quality food (although the menu is limited and rotating) and one of the most impressive bars, and this lounge is no exception. In fact, to highlight the speakeasy culture in NYC, they have one of their very own -- 1850 -- which features some timeless classics served in an elevated way. For those who prefer more fruit-forward cocktails friendly on the palette, those offerings are available in the regular bar right in front of the speakeasy. There's no denying that the cocktails here are in the upper percentile of cocktails available in airport lounges. To expand on food, my most recent visit served some of my personal comfort classics, from cold sesame noodles to pickled cucumber and coleslaw which were all a hit to me. In the past, there has been curried chicken, roasted cauliflower, and pasta. A recent addition was a new cafe corner that features more healthy bites including pastries in the morning, an espresso setup, and detox smoothies, which I found to be a good conversion of the old equinox body spa that I have never figured out how to experience. The best part about this lounge is that its super easy to get access as long as you own one of the eligible credit cards and have a same day flight departing within 3 hours of entry; with this ease, unfortunately, the lounges have gotten more busy than before, but the wait is never longer than 20 minutes (compared to the 1 hour wait at the Sapphire Lounge next door), and that the experience does not degrade. I also really appreciate that the staff are incredibly friendly and kind despite of the increased demand, which helps maintain a positive experience over several visits. It's a great lounge to get into if the wait time isn't crazy like 2 hours, it's the OG of Centurion Lounges. Even with three floors, it's always packed. The Centurion Lounge at JFK is located in terminal 4, A concourse. Take the stairs or elevator up to the mezzanine to access the club. This location is 15,000 square feet over 2 levels. Centurion JFK is one of my favorite Centurions since it is not only loaded with amenities, but also a speakeasy. The speakeasy is located on the lower floor. Look for the door with 1850 on it. Coming into 1850 doesn't feel like I'm in an airport lounge. There are also drinks for coffee lovers at the blue roast bar where you can get a craft coffee. The hot food bar is like the other Centurions and does not disappoint. Two showers are located on the main level and can be reserved at the front. To really enjoy all the amenities of this lounge plan on spending 3 hours. read more

The service was good, clean ambiance, however the elevator was not functional which made it difficult to get to the buffet with my luggage. Recently visited the Centurion Lounge at JFK; it was incredibly busy during our visit. That being said, check in was seamless and probably one of the best check-in experiences we've had. The staff was friendly and happy and moved us through quickly. That was probably the highlight of our visit; the lounge was short on seating, and most do the seating was uncomfortable and not accessible to outlets to charge devices. The food was horrible. The staff cleaning were super attentive and friendly, but the staff at the coffee shop were rude, slow and not helpful. They 'couldn't' make a number of items I could clearly see they had ingredients to make and it was hit or miss if they would 'hear' your request for a snack from the case (I say this from observing a line of customers, not just myself). The bartenders were friendly - heavy pours! The secret 'speakeasy' was fun and unexpected (we unfortunately discovered it towards the end of our visit). The lounge was also very warm - I was happy to be able to strip off layers because I was sweating soon after settling in. I did not visit the Delta Lounge, but I will likely not return to this Centurion Lounge. read more

We stopped by during a long layover. I was surprised how cramped this location is. It felt like everyone was on top of each other, which is not ideal for a lounge. The food was pretty good. The top and bottom floor buffets are the same, just as an FYI. I thought the best items came from the cafe. The caprese sandwich was delicious. This lounge is "big"...one of the biggest according to the website but it doesn't "feel" big. In the last month I've had to do a lot of travel so I've come to this lounge a few times. Service is inconsiderate (compared to other lounges) and it always feels crowded/uncomfortable. Go downstairs if you want a little more peace/quiet. The bathrooms are unisex/one stall which is great except it makes waiting longer. Sometimes is clean and sometimes it's very dirty (as in dirty dishes everywhere/bathrooms unusable bc it's so bad). The people are nice enough specially for NYC standards (#iykyk). Food is also hit and miss to where things run out or are wrong temperature n yet u don't see it taken care of as swiftly as I do at other lounges I frequent. Not to mention it's on terminal 4 so unless you're flying internationally (and have Clear or TSA pre) getting to it won't happen unless you have a few hours layover to get through security twice. read more

Immediately head downstairs, to the speakeasy-style 1850 Bar. It's not got huge signage, so feels like an IYKYK spot. Inside it's darkly lit and you're transported to a legit vibey cocktail bar. Unfortunately, they only start serving the specialty cocktails after 10:30, and our boozey bums were there at 9:30, but it was still a perfect spot to hang and grab some sparkling water and coffee. There was a wait at the Chase Sapphire Lounge next door so we popped into the Centurion Lounge to check it out. There was no wait, but the lounge leaves a lot to be desired. It was very tight and hard to find a seat. The food had clearly been sitting out for a long time, but again I realize we arrived very late in the day. The buffet was very small in comparison to other Centurion Lounges I've been to. There were only about three hot items total. There were also rolls and some cold salad items as well as dessert options. I was able to get a glass of Pinot Grigio with a nice heavy pour which was appreciated. As soon as I sat down they made an announcement for last call, and about a minute later I got a text saying I was able to come to the Chase Sapphire lounge so I downed my drink and left. Can't say it's the worst lounge I've been in but at such a big/popular airport and considering how nice other Centurion Lounges were I really expected a lot more. read more

The Centurion lounge at JFK offers a great experience. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the virgin club in Heathrow is above and beyond and I'll save the fives for that club. But this one is fine for ones I've experienced in the US. Very easy entry - you just show your platinum AMEX, ID and boarding pass. There's two levels. There's little pods where you can set up. I haven't tried the Delta club in JFK but the one thing I like about Centurion over the Delta clubs is the bar has more complementary items and they served a pretty good espresso martini! If you are at the airport early and want some time to rest. It's a great club. read more

The staff are so very hardworking, friendly and lovely. Six stars for them! There was a fellow in the coffee bar area, Desi, I think, who was kind and so very helpful on this Thursday, June 12 morning, and admirably proud of his coffee, though some of his co-workers were tired and (understandably) grouchier. He kind of made our morning. I feel a bit badly for noting this given how nice everyone was, but... for those food snobs reading, the breakfast was of somewhat low-grade cafeteria quality. Your kiddos will find something to enjoy among the croissants, muffins, and such, but the strangely spongey scrambled eggs and hard sausages were of industrial grade. A croissant casserole (a savory strata with eggs and something like ham or bacon, croissants, eggs), gruyere cheese, was likable. There were also overnight oats and oatmeal on offer, brunch cocktails available from the bar. The Pardner's bloody Mary was about 99% ice and quite weak, but I'm sure if you put your mind to it, you could find yourself a party. :) Coffee from the coffee bar to the left immediately after you enter met my standards (which are admittedly not at all high) and we very much enjoyed the (sort of sugary, probably under-punitive) "immunity shot" and smoothies from the bar. Cleanish bathrooms were well stocked with fancy soap and lotion (I think I registered a L'Occitane branded product or something similar), which my 9 year old delightedly noted smelled just like our usual lemongrass eucalyptus based insect repellent. :) We found out just as we were leaving that there is a large, lovely, peaceful downstairs area that is far less crowded than the upper entry floor. Oh well. Next time. Probably just as well that we didn't disturb the peace down there. Not sure if our kiddos were allowed free entry because certain spending limits had been met on credit cards, but we very much appreciated that they were in our case. There's a small family room to the right when you enter with toys and tv shows for young children. And there are two shower rooms on the upper floor further in (and possibly elsewhere too) that you would probably need to procure a key for, to enter. If you need quiet desk time, head into the top floor past the coffee bar and turn left, then left again. There is decently speedy WiFi. It's a bit of a walk to many gates so make sure you keep tabs on boarding times! read more

The lounge looked okay. Didn't spend much time exploring since there wasn't much food at 5 am when they opened. It was definitely not crowded. But the staff was diligent in cleaning off the tables at that hour. It was overall supposed to be comfortable, but I left quickly when I realized I wasn't going to get real food for the first hour after they opened. All I ate with this oatmeal thing and a cup of tea. Pretty awesome lounge, is it the best Amex lounge and does it fully live up to its hype? No. Did I enjoy my time pre flight? YES. Pros: less lines, less crowds, spa services and speakeasy Cons: you now have to pay for your guest (new policy kicked in for Amex but ok fine), the food was pretty basic, you can't get in for a massage because it gets pretty busy. Speakeasy was ok. We got here a little over 2 hours before our flight (next time I'll plan on getting there right at the 3 to be able to enjoy it more). Started things off with a glass of Prosecco and went from there. We realized there was a spa and treatment room so we went for it right away! Of course, massage spaces were booked up for hours (almost til the end of the day). We were offered the relaxation/meditation room which looked pretty sweet and relaxing but we ended up booking the leg compression therapy with UV anti aging/anti acne face masks. This was truly my favorite part of the experience. In preparation for a long flight, the let compression was seriously very well needed. You also gave the option to do yoga, light exercises and stretching that you can easily follow on the Equinox screen. Another amazing perk of the lounge. Everything of course is by appointment but it's definitely easy to get in for these services. The food bar was ok, nothing exceptional but hey, we ate there and were fed so totally ok. The bar was where it was at **of course**. Definitely wasn't impressed at all with the speakeasy as it's very loud, crowded and truly nothing special. Just a back (dark) room, a bar and more speakeasy vibes than anything. Either way, it was all part of the fun of it. Our time here or course flew by and we had to go so for sure plan on spending the full three hours here to be able to enjoy everything without rushing. read more

Amex needs to up their game. Delta lounge at the same terminal is pretty amazing. That is super large with an abundance of food choices. The Centurion lounge is pretty lousy in comparison. The Centurion lounges wear the crown of being the ultimate lounge- not true. Very limited food, all drinks (including soft drinks) have to be served at the bar. Desserts were a tray of sugar cookies and some fruit. The only thing that's good if the Equinox Body Lab but good luck getting a spot there. If I'm being completely objective, this lounge is average compared to other locations. I'll start with the major pros first. First of all, they have an Equinox branch in here that has amenities such as leg compression devices, theraguns, area to do yoga with guided classes on a TV, a relaxation room, and a licensed professional providing massages. This was unreal and so nice to relax and de-stress. It was not busy at all and you can sign up for multiple amenities with the host and even schedule times! The fire is also awesome. You get a cool view of the terminal and the runway. Now cons: Food is subpar compared to other locations. Breakfast food included dry pancakes and old looking sausage. The patatas bravas with garlic aioli were probably the best item in terms of flavor, but the potatoes were soggy despite having been fried. Tables are dirty and floors are sticky. You can feel your shoes sticking to the floor as you walk, and the tables have visible, caked on food/drink. With so many other lounges available here (Delta, Air India, Virgin, and Primeclass), it's hard to justify staying at this lounge after enjoying the Equinox amenities. read more
