Empty overhead but they take your suitcase claiming there is no room.
    Clarissa K.

American Airlines what happened to you? I flew over a half a million miles with you and still know my frequent flier number by heart. However when I fly it is for my convenience so when visiting NJ to see Mom it would not have been convenient to fly you, and at all times I fly non-stop. So I have a business trip to Chicago so I fly you yesterday after a two year hiatus. Boy now I truly have a comparative of everyone else and it isn't pretty for American. So short trip I use my small Tumi suitcase that has clocked even more miles than I have with you. So when they call my group I go only to get stopped and get ridiculed by two of your agents. Now since 9-11 I am a different person when I fly so it is like I am numb on medication. If an agent says anything , I DO NOT ENGAGE OR ARGUE. People that know me would be shocked. But I am totally aware on who is in charge and we are not Americans with freedom anymore. So the dialogue goes like this your bag has now mysteriously after a half million miles is too big for their overhead. At this point they are now leading me to believe the plane I am boarding is state of the art. Right off the assembly line and I will be one of their first passengers. They tag the bag. But no the diatribe does not end. Is this a smart bag does it contain battery packs? Am I on Candid Camera after this back and forth they than say to me if I was on Spirit I would get charged. Wow American Airlines now prides themselves on not being the worst airline in the world. Only the second worst! Ok so the other passenger's that were boarding were confused as their bags was the same sized maybe even bigger and they were not stopped. The over head bins up until take off were empty. Oh and the plane I boarded older than I can imagine. My bag would have fit fine as it had for the last 16 years. But the power trip of the employees is not compared thankfully to any othet airline I will happily fly next time.

Our first class tickets on AA to Los Angeles was terrible. The plane inside the cabin looked like it was falling apart.

My toddler was freaking out on a very early flight back home. He was tired and couldn't get comfortable so he was crying. Now I have the Delta SkyMiles, American Express, which gets you a free checked bag for not only myself, but one other person flying with me. In the day and age of flight travel that's a great perk. Delta is one of the very few airlines that allows all passengers to take a 22" carry-on, and a personal item. Definitely makes traveling a little more comfortable. The flight from flight from Fort Lauderdale to Raleigh was delayed 3 hours. They did notify me via email and text way in advance. Communication from Delta was excellent. The gate agents were nice, they emailed all passengers $12 food vouchers for the delay. I lost my day in Raleigh and the baby behind me cried the whole 2 hours. As a service member, I don't take travel support lightly. United has consistently shown great appreciation for military members, including generous checked-baggage allowances for both official and leisure travel. In major military hubs like San Diego or Hawaii, the front-desk staff are typically knowledgeable, experienced, and efficient. Unfortunately, that level of service wasn't reflected here. While I appreciate technology and actually enjoy using United's kiosk stations more than most airlines, the layout at Fort Lauderdale was confusing and frustrating. In other terminals, customer service agents can assist with tags and special baggage needs directly at the counter. At this location, I was forced to rely on the kiosks even with special baggage requirements. Because of issues with heavy-bag tagging, I was sent back and forth between lines multiple times. Two floor associates were helpful and professional, but the agent behind the desk appeared irritated and visibly frustrated. On my first interaction, I simply asked for guidance. On the second, another associate had entered the wrong tags on my heavy bags, which added to the delay and confusion. Traveling with a full family already adds stress, and this experience made it more difficult than necessary. That said, this issue is location-specific and does not deter my overall trust in United Airlines. I will continue to fly with United, but I hope the Fort Lauderdale station improves training, layout clarity, and consistency in customer service

My only recourse is reimbursement and cutting United Airlines out of my life. No more. No personal or business travel on United again for us or employees. Money seems to be the only thing United Airlines cares about. No more of mine. One star is too kind.

I mean, they are the ones who unleashed the hell of nickel and diming for air travel (I mean charging for a checked bag??). They take Randian economics to its most extreme, with different prices between their mobile app and the webpage. Oh and of course, it was hard to make payment thru the mobile app so I ended up being stuck with the higher fee! Their app and website are chock full of annoying advertising to buy extra features that for the longest was basic to what is air travel. But especially in these times, when there's must-take business travel, you have to come through for your clients! After my usual airline canceled my puddle jumper (west coast of Florida) business trip at the end of the day, my company and I had to scramble and thus found Spirit. The terminal itself was fairly clean, and my low rating doesn't speak to the personnel. The gate agents, flight attendants and pilots were courteous and professional (I got there and back in one piece :) Heading there on an early morning flight, I was able to get essentially first class with a seat in the second row. Although my seat was really comfortable, the seat in front looked a little ragged with part of the "bones" of the seat showing. My return flight I had a mid cabin (though still window) seat on a mostly empty flight. These seats were firmer and slightly less comfortable. Oh and they didn't recline. The planes did seem a little noisier than the one I took on American last such trip. I did join the $9 Fare Club if for the understanding of getting what I pay for. Still, just 3 stars for unleashing the virus of a la carte flying :)

Spirit Airlines turns honest mistakes into a profit center…read more I've flown a lot. I understand low-cost carriers, fine print, and trade-offs. What I don't accept is a business model that appears designed to trap customers into accidental purchases and then stonewall them when they immediately try to fix an obvious mistake. On January 26, 2026, I went to Spirit's website to buy a seat and a checked bag. I believed I was purchasing a $69.95 Savers Club seat option. Instead, Spirit quietly charged me for: A seat ($47) A checked bag ($69) A Spirit Savers Club membership ($69.95) This was clearly an error, identified within minutes of purchase. What followed was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I immediately called Spirit: First call: 17 minutes and 39 seconds on hold, then disconnected. Second call: 18 more minutes, only to be told the agent couldn't help and transferred me again. When I finally reached a representative, I was told I was ineligible for a refund because I had supposedly "used" the Savers Club membership... on the same transaction in which it was mistakenly purchased. Let that sink in. I calmly proposed the most reasonable solution imaginable: Refund the seat, bag, and membership, remove them from my reservation, and I'll immediately repurchase the seat and bag at full price. Spirit refused. Repeatedly. Instead, they tried to push bonus miles and a small credit--completely useless to me, since my employer pays for my travel and does not reimburse memberships. I explained this clearly. More than once. It didn't matter. For over eight minutes, the agent refused to help while I remained polite and cooperative. At one point, I informed them I was recording the call. The behavior didn't improve. This wasn't about policy. This wasn't about fairness. This was about extracting $69.95 from a customer who caught a mistake immediately and tried to resolve it in good faith. Spirit Airlines has mastered the art of hiding behind "policy" to justify behavior that would never fly (pun intended) at a customer-centric company. The experience left me with the clear impression that confusion isn't a bug in their system -- it's a feature. If you value transparency, basic fairness, or customer service that treats you like a human being instead of a revenue opportunity, think very carefully before booking with Spirit Airlines. I certainly will.

Avelo's everyday low fares are cut because Avelo offers unbundled travel options that give customers the flexibility to pay for what they want that includes priority boarding, checked bags, carry-on overhead bags, and for bringing a pet in the cabin. Avelo Airlines is definitely an airline I would take again because of the convenience it provides and great prices. The only disadvantage would be that there are limited flights and schedules. Avelo Airlines does provide the customer flexibility to pay what you want but everything is basically à la carte. Your flight can cost 188.00 dollars round trip for example but if you want to travel with bags or a carry-on, the bag price is 60.00 for each trip. You are allowed a carry on bag that can fit under your chair free of charge. There is also a seat selection option and there is a an up-charge for that but the seats prices are between twenty to sixty dollars. If you don't mind where you want to sit than there is not an up-charge and you're seat is chosen for you. Furthermore, they have priority seating which I did pay for. I figured instead of the hassle of standing in line, I can be the first one on the plane and I wouldn't have to worry about where to put my carry-on overhead. The price for priority seating is thirty five dollars for each way, which I don't mind paying. I've heard mixed reviews about the airline but I decided to give a shot. My flight was supposed to leave at seven in the morning going to Fort Lauderdale but due to limited airplanes they provide and weather, my flight didn't depart until ten thirty. The flights were smooth, relaxing, and the flight attendants were very nice and pleasant.
