Worst flying experience of my life, our plane was delayed 7 hours and customer service was extremely slow.

The slogan for the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) is "It's in every escape" with a capital E, C, and P. The airport advertises its convenient daily nonstop flights that make it so that planning your next escape is easy. They also like to market that at this airport, you can go from "baggage to the beach in 20 minutes." Unlike friends who absolutely hate flying, I enjoy the travel experience, especially when using some helpful tools like CLEAR, Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check, airport lounge membership, and airline status. The only one of these that this airport uses is TSA Pre-Check. When checking in, I was able to easily check my bag at the Southwest Airlines counter. I then went to the All Gates check-in area and used TSA Pre-Check to skip most of the line at Security while keeping my shoes on (thanks to an American Express Platinum card which comes with credits for both TSA Pre-Check and CLEAR). Being a smaller airport, it was quite easy to navigate the gates and food in the terminal. The baggage claim was also easy to find as there was really only one baggage claim per large airline. The car rental area was more complicated though that may have been due to the rental company itself. One negative though is that there were no airline lounges of any sort. I ended up arriving quite early and visited the only restaurant with hot food (to go). I eventually found open corners of boarding areas with outlets and read a book for a while. On the ECP website, you can take advantage of free resources as a part of their Junior Flyer Zone (https://www.iflybeaches.com/junior-flyer-zone). There is also an "Art Escape" initiative in its concourse which showcases rotating beach-themed and contemporary works from local Bay and Walton County artists. Inaugural exhibits include photography by Mark Little and Chandler Williamson, along with student artwork, aiming to enhance the passenger experience. While I'm not sure when or if I'll be back to this airport or 30A, I did appreciate this airport and would go back again.

So easy to get through security. Nice to have earlier boarding with ALP. Nice also to be able to reserve an exit row seat. Hopefully, the perks as a loyal Southwest Airlines customer will continue. Thanks for another great experience.

Being based out of the Phoenix area, I find that Southwest Airlines and American Airlines are the…read moremost ideal airlines to fly for me. While I typically fly American Airlines, every now and then, I do find myself on a Southwest Airlines flight. While I know some big changes have just started being made on Southwest Airlines including the cost of luggage being added and assigned seating starting soon, the "no frills" concept of Southwest Airlines for better fares and the "outrageously fun" service culture intrigue me with the airlines as a customer and observer. In fact, I typically have had very positive customer service experiences whether in advance on the phone or in person at the airport. For more first time ever flying into Panama City, I flew in on Southwest Airlines with layovers in Austin. On the other hand, I have flown Southwest Airlines every now and then through other airports like Phoenix, California, Las Vegas, El Paso, or Albuquerque. While I have never tried the A-List program before, I have membership in CLEAR and Global Entry, which help me speed through security to get to the gates. I also find myself enjoying lounges through the American Express Platinum card and/or Priority Pass program. It also provides a travel incidental which I often will use with Southwest Airlines. Traveling has become more of a hobby and habit at the same time, and using Southwest Airlines and American Airlines as two the two airlines that are most convenient for me, I can accumulate points or miles quickly for future benefits. I actually recall learning about Southwest Airlines in my business school classes way back when as it was used as a regular case study, and I loved reading books about Herb Kelleher and the early days of Southwest Airlines and its service focus not only to customers but to employees as well. After all, if your employees aren't happy, your customers certainly won't be. I recall living the Southwest Airlines experience on holidays when everyone was treated to drinks, through fun and entertaining announcements by flight attendants, and when I was younger, even being invited to pass out the peanuts (in the days well before pretzels were instead distributed). As the recent Southwest Airlines changes are so new, the jury is still out on how I feel about them. For now, I can still expect great service, which is really what we're looking for (besides safe and timely flights). I look forward to continuing to check in with Southwest Airlines every now and then.

I know everyone has a bad day, but on 4 different flights with four different crews I experienced sassiness. I also experienced a nice young lady flight attendant that gave me a bottle of water even though they were not doing service (30 min flight). When I asked her if they were serving drinks I meant VODKA, but she was sweet to give me the water. On the way home I was stuck in PCB after my delta flight was cancelled. I had been promised to be out on the next flight. Somehow I got lost in the shuffle and got shafted off the flight. The one guy at the gate was extremely RUDE and could have cared less for my situation. So all I could do was take it because you can't get excited with airline workers, i'd end up on the news. Anyway, I went to southwest and they worked with delta and a very nice man that gave up his seat for me. He overheard our convo and was super kind and not in a hurry to get to his destination. So cool. With delta I feel like I'm walking on egg shells with their employees. I'd rather not pay to feel that way, I have friends and family for that! The planes were clean though, that's a good thing.
