If I could give zero stars I would. My son totaled my car on June 6, 2026. It is now August 4th and I am still waiting for the claim to be settled. There is absolutely NO question as to the validity of the claim. They just like playing games. From the photos submitted June 9th, there is minimum $14K in damage visible. That is confirmed by my mechanic, my body shop and American Alliance's preferred vendor body shop. At first they wanted to repair my vehicle, then they made their own preferred vendor jump through hoops to get it to the Total Loss Dept. Now they want ANOTHER 5 - 7 business days to review it. I left 13 voicemails for my adjuster, Annette, every 48 hours. She finally reached out last Thursday after I sent emails to everyone I could think of. She made promises that of course she didn't follow through on. When I call for an update, I'm told that I don't understand how insurance works. I am going to be 57 years old. Every accident in the last 41 years has been settled in a week or less!!! Insurance is supposed to make you life easier, not more difficult! My son was hit by an American Alliance insured driver. Police report was filed the night of the crash, and pictures were taken of damage done to my son's car. Police report, with pictures were then forwarded to American Alliance and a claim was filed. After weeks of trying to follow up on the claim to have the $3000 worth of damage repaired, he finally was able to reach an agent. She proceeded to tell him that because they could not get in touch with their insured driver the claim was closed! So now he's stuck with the cost of repairs that their driver caused! Update. I still haven't spoken to anyone from American Alliance. I received 3 random text messages which I'm guessing was from this company as my claim number was attached however I did not click on the link. Who installs an app from a company before speaking to someone first? I later received a letter from American Alliance letting me know that my claim would be closed since my vehicle hadn't been inspected. My car was is now repaired thanks to my insurance company. I was advised that it could take 3-9 months for them to be reimbursed depending on how American Alliance responds. Once they are reimbursed, then I'd get my deductible back. I had a rental car for 18 days - my insurance company only paid for part of the rental which means I lost money (nearly $75). I was advised that because I paid for that portion of the rental, I would have to fight to get reimbursed myself. Well I know how that is going to go. Absolutely horrendous company that should not even be legal to do business in Illinois! I was minding my own business stopped at a red light when their reckless insured client slammed in the back of me and per the police report he states he was distracted picking something up and thought the light turned green and hit me. He was ticketed but since he's a POS and refuses to cooperate and call the trash insurance they denied the claim and refuse to read the police report that has his statement on it. I filed a claim in March 2025 its June 2025 and everytime I call they give me the run around. If they said I didn't send the paper work. So I Certified mail it again and gave them the tracking number. I called them a couple days later and they said they have it. So they said that the adjuster should be calling you within 5/7 days. A week went by I called back and they said the same thing again I didn't send all the letters I went back and forth with them. So I said I will resend it Certified mail. A couple days went by I called and gave them a tracking number and they said ok we have it. Again they said the adjuster will call you 5/7 days. Called back 8 days later the same shit. This company deserves negative stars. Even 1(which is lowest in yelp) is too much for them. I got hit by their insurer rear-ended about 85 days ago, and they still haven't approved repair cost. When I call them to see what is going on, they keep on telling me they will put an exclamation mark on the case and will be contacting me within 24 to 48 hours, which they never do (or their time flows totally different then regular hours). So I am the one who have to call them back, and the same BS starts over.
