It was really hard choosing between solar companies; all of them seem to be priced very closely, and all of them have a full range of reviews from "they were awesome, everything was amazing!" down to "they burned my house down." I would say that at the end, I'm happy I went with American Array Solar and Roofing with my project; it took longer than I expected to complete and the communication was a bit spotty, but at the end of the day, I have a working solar system at the originally quoted price. To start, Anthony in sales was great, he was able to pull in everyone needed to make the initial plan. My project is bit non-standard because of my tile roof but we were able to determine that wouldn't be a problem. Things started to break down a bit during the engineering process; after the lengthy discussion I had with Anthony about my roof, including sending photos of what kind of tiles they'd need to replace the ones that inevitably break, the engineer's design that the installers showed up with was based on a standard shingled roof. The installers were pros though; they showed up several hours late but ended up finishing the panel mounting after working into the night. I'm not sure what went wrong after that (whether it was the city inspector's schedule or the installer's schedule) but I didn't hear anything for several months, and Anthony had to help me chase down an update. When the installers came for the final inspection, the city inspector pointed out they needed a second grounding rod, and while they weren't prepared for that they went to Home Depot and got that installed and approved the same day. So, in conclusion, everything ended up being installed according to the original spec and price, just taking longer than I expected.

He also let us know they might find other problems once they started the repair, but would keep us posted as the worked. On the day we were scheduled to have the work done, the crew showed up on time ready to work. While doing the roof repair, they noticed the sealer around the roof pipes starting to crack, they went ahead and repaired those and then walked the entire roof to make sure there were no other issues. Eden, the project manager/sales person called me with updates throughout the day, and sent pictures of the work at each stage. He also called to explain what they found as they started the work. He called me a couple of times during the day with updates, and when they finished reviewed each picture with us to explain the work they did. When they finished the project they cleaned up everything and left our house like they never were here. They were a little more expensive than the other bids we received, but in this case we got what we paid for. Throughout the either process Eden and the team went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied.

A special shoutout to Felix, the Project Manager, who truly went above and beyond. I had some unique requests regarding a warranty extension, and he took the initiative to contact the manufacturer directly to make it happen. That level of dedication and follow-through really stood out. There was a small hiccup along the way when the crew initially started installing the wrong underlayment. However, it was quickly caught, and Felix and his team immediately owned the mistake. They acted fast to correct it with minimal delay, which I really appreciated. Their accountability and responsiveness made all the difference. From the very beginning, there was something about Felix that made me feel I could trust him--and he absolutely proved that instinct right. He was transparent, honest, and communicative every step of the way. On top of all that, their pricing was very competitive, especially considering the quality of work and level of service provided. Overall, I highly recommend Atlas Roofing. If you're looking for a team that stands behind their work, offers fair pricing, and genuinely cares about doing the job right, they're a great choice.

Wanting to do right by the homeowner, I reached out to Lee and asked if he'd be willing to come take a look and provide an unbiased assessment of whether the issue was roof-related and how we could best solve it. Without hesitation, Lee rearranged his schedule, met me and the homeowner on site, clearly explained where the issue was with the window, showed video to clearly explain the issue, and helped us come up with a solid solution. His professionalism, knowledge, and willingness to help spoke volumes. This experience is a great reminder that even though we may be competitors, we can still work together, collaborate, and help one another for the good of the homeowner and our community. That kind of integrity is what truly sets good businesses apart. Lee with AAA Roofing is a prime example of what it means to be a good neighbor and a great business owner. I'm grateful for his help and proud to work alongside professionals like him in this industry.

In today's online world, finding a qualified, reliable, honest, friendly, helpful, and trust worthy…read moreroofing contractor is not an easy task. Today I found one of the best. I had the good luck to be referred to Lee Yosef and family owned AAA Roofing company. A few weeks ago, during an early winter storm I had the homeowners nightmare of a leaking roof. Being a 21st Century kind of guy Lee went directly to Google Earth and looked up my roof and was able to assess the situation....one that I had not considered....I have a roof full of solar panels. Oops I forgot about those. He advised me that I would need to have the section of the panels in the area of the leak removed so he could come out and troubleshoot the roof, find the leak and repair it. He knew I didn't need a new roof, he knew that I live in Venice Beach and his office is in Calabasas, and he knew it was coming up on a holiday weekend. Remember this is likely not going to be a huge job and the owner of the company saying that he will be coming himself. Nevertheless he put me on his schedule the Monday morning after the holiday. At this point his office manager and wife Anita took over. We texted back and forth frequently always keeping me in the loop. She helped me coordinate with my solar company so everything could be done at the same time. This is a family business and even though we had never met or done business before I felt a personal touch that is not usually the norm. Monday after the holiday weekend Lee arrives as scheduled, spends over an hour on my roof, and finds the source of the leak. He doesn't try to upsell me, or schedule one of his assistants to come back another day to repair what he found. He heads back down to his truck, grabs materials, goes back up to the roof, makes the needed repairs. I ask him if I can give him a check to pay for the work and he says something to the effect: "That's Ok, no charge." Now I'm not saying that Lee and AAA Roofing in Calabasas works for free, but for a company to go out of their way to help a homeowner make sure that a little problem does not turn into a big problem says more than I can adequately express. When the time comes to solve a big roofing problem there is no question of who I will call. Lee & Anita Yosef, AAA Roofing.

They do show up to "fix" things, but for the amount of money spent, this should not be happening. The workmanship is disappointing: exposed nails, messy mastic work that looks like a patch job rather than a new roof, and a mix of old and new flashing. The leaks have caused damage to walls and ceilings in several parts of the house. I even had to hire other roofers to identify problems so this company could explain to their own crew what needed to be done -- they couldn't find the issues themselves. For a brand-new roof, there should have been no issues at all. If I could give negative stars, I would. What an ordeal and an unnecessary headache.

I got 4 price quotes and was just about to sign with a different company in the next few days because the price was decent and I liked them, and I was tired of getting quotes. My wife happen to be on the phone with her cousin and mentioned we were price quoting for a new roof. Her cousin said that they used Tall Roofing a year or so ago and her sister used them about 3 years ago and they both have given their number to various neighbors and friends, she gave us Bens name and number. I figured one more quote wouldn't kill me. I contacted Ben later that day and he sent Daniel out 2 days later to meet us. Daniel was a super nice guy and answered all our questions. He gave us a quote and it wasn't the cheapest of the 4 other quotes i got but it definitely wasn't the most expensive. My wife and I liked him and this price and the recommendations we got so we were sold. His crew started 1 week later and they were there bright and early every day, finished quickly, left the place nice and clean. What more could you ask for? During that week, I texted and called Daniel a few times to ask questions and he never seemed like I was bugging him or anything. I put off looking for a roofer to replace our roof for over 6 months because honestly....I hate dealing with contractors, repair guys and guys like that. But dealing with Daniel and Tall Roofing was so easy. He recommend in contact him in about 8-10 years and he will do a roof maintenance on my roof to extend it's life. I definitely will do that. Knowing how much time had passed, I fully expected DLS might dismiss my concern. To my amazement, DLS crew promptly arrived and fixed the oversight around my home at no cost. This proves DLS is more than just a company that performs an excellent re-roofing job; they are incredibly responsive and stand by their work - even for seemingly small issues that arise long after the initial project is complete.

Spencer from DLS Development gave a great pitch, plus the quote was one of the lowest we received from almost all roofing companies. They reached out over a month later to check in and offer an additional discount. Pros: The workers did an excellent job and worked from nearly sunup to sundown. They had a few questions, which I could answer (or get my husband to answer) when I was around. It took about 4 days for them to tear off the old shingles and install the new ones. And it was hot out there! They did the work quickly, professionally, and efficiently! One of the crew members performed a walk-through with my husband once they finished, and my husband was very pleased with the finished product. I feel very grateful looking at my roof now, since the old one was very old. Cons Once we signed the contract and paid the initial deposit, we were told that the permit for our house needed to be pulled and that it would take about a week. Almost two weeks later, I asked the project manager if she had pulled the permit and when the project could begin. She then let me know the roofers would begin the following week. I guess I hoped that the project manager would have reached out to me first to let me know that the permit situation was complete and that they would begin the roofing process. You need to take initiative and find out what's happening, since I've never had a roof replaced before. Next, the project manager informed us they discovered and replaced rotted wood. The project manager sent us a change order for the additional amount, yet the contract did not list any extra charge for rotted wood. Additionally, they had already replaced the "rotted wood" before we signed anything, and they had no clear photos showing any rotted wood. It took a lot of emails and texts back and forth before we reached a resolution we were happy with. Still, it was a headache and frustrating for several days; we had to deal with uncertainty and explanations. Finally, the project manager never confirmed when the inspector for the last inspection would actually come to our house to collect my signature on a form. We didn't know whether we needed to be at home, leave the document out somewhere, or when the process would officially end. I received an email from the project manager asking me to reply and attach the form with my signature, as the inspector had come around but could not collect it because I was not there. I replied to the email with the form and asked the project manager if I needed to do anything else. Only when I reached out again to the general DLS development general email was I told what day the inspector would come around again to collect the form. We're thrilled with the roof and the quality of work, but it would've been less of a headache to have a lot of this information up front without having to keep asking, since I'm unfamiliar with the roof process. I also had to email the general DLS development email, as the project manager was not responding to some questions and concerns as quickly as I would've liked. I know she probably had a million things going on, but it felt like I got a response much quicker once I emailed through the general company email. This was not a cheap project, and I feel like this company lacks clear communication, but their workers and work are absolutely outstanding.
