I spent 16k on a civic sI 2017 here. They said the ac worked. Said the check engine lights would go off in 150 miles. I spent 5k in repairs and they just acted like they have no idea what is going on. They knew they sold me a bad car, but it's their attitude afterwards that bothered me. They could have worked with me a little but the woman there was rude as heck, Victor hung up on me because I warned him that I was about to leave a bad review. honestly that was nice of me to give a final warning because reviews make a big difference. Sure, my civic will be nice eventually when I fix it and all, but they could have been a little more honest and had better attitudes and made more money in the long run. instead they just avoided me, told me I don't know how to drive, mentioned personal details that my grandmother mentioned like my having to do jailtime on a probation violation when I put them on the spot, and honestly I even apologized when I was mildly assertive with the woman. Don't come here they sell cars that they know are bad vehicles. I bought a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in April. I've only driven it 3 months. It's constantly needing work. My husband is good at working on cars. But this car was pas no return. We had to take it in to Jeeps dealership to get it fixed just for them to tell us we were at $21,000 and need a new engine and transfer case. A $8,000 car going to $21,000 and no vehicle at the end. Drove down to buy a old school but when we got there it had been moved that day to another lot without even letting me know. So I have to drive 15 to where the car is. Let me tell you I was so heartbroken when I seen the condition of the car and what the salesman was trying to pull on me. I didn't get the old school but did pick up a nice 2013 van. Now the only problem is that when I bought it I had to drive from Modesto to Oakland, so I checked the van out and it had major oil leak but "NASH THE OWNER" told me himself that the engine had been replaced and the mechanic prolly didn't clean the oil of good enough but was guaranteed all things were fine. I made it home just fine no issues at all, but when I woke up the van had a big leak from the place we talked about. I took it to my mechanic and it needed to be repaired $850. Called American CarDepot said I can't talk to NASH I attempted to contact him for 2 weeks straight. Finally a man answered with a controlled tone and told me that I bought a as-is car and whatever NASH told me has to be clear only by NASH and he won't ever know when he can even get my message to and NO HE WASNT GONNA CALL HIM.... I called in asking about a car on 5-2-22; they assured me they had the car still and that it was just on another lot; the guy on the phone said he would call back and see when he could have it on the lot by. They never called back; This would have been fine as I wouldn't have been able to go out until the following weekend anyways. As the Weekend approached; on 5-6-22 I called again, they had no idea who I was or that I was interested in the car; they said they still had it and would have it on the lot on Saturday 5-7-22 for me to see anyways. When I arrived on Satuday, guess what.... "Who are you? who did you talk to? oh yea that car, they didn't bring it sorry. Its in Merced, you can take one of our cars and go see it though!" Firstly, I already made them aware I was driving from an hour away to see this vehicle, I was NOT driving another 30 mins further away from home to see a car that was promised me to be on this lot at a specific time. Secondly; I overheard on the phone that they were supposed to send that car over this morning and drive back a different car to Merced, guess which car they wanted me to take.... So not only did they ask me to drive there in THEIR car which I believe they wanted on that lot regardless, they wanted me to drive further away. What If i did not even like the car after test driving it? Would they have told me tough luck and to get an uber back to Modesto? Regardless, I left and bought another car that same day from a different dealer and I couldn't be happier with it, I'll take it as a sign from a higher power that i dodged a bullet with these unprofessional people. Took my hummer h3 to this place because my check engine light was on and my car had very low power they did some tests and told me i had a spark plug misfire it would be 600 to fix left the car there an hour later they called and said i also had a crack in the exhaust manifold and it would be another 200 to fix because were gonna have to take it off and take it to another shop to have the crack welded but when we take it off and some bolts break it would be another 300 because they would have to drill the bolts out and that takes time so of course i get a call a few hours later with some bad news allmost all the bolts broke he said so 1200 dollars later i pick up the car 2 days later it starts to over heat and agian very low power. I take it back he says i have to replace the thermastat its gonna be 300 dollars he says its now fixed i pick it up on the way home theres low power and it over heats. so i take it to another place alex auto repair in ceres which i highly recomend awesome guy and great mechanic backed by a 5 star review on yelp. They found out the real problem i needed both catalytic convertors replaced and to find out there was never a weld on the excaust manifold thyat alex could find at all and the bolts that were broking from american auto depot were never fixed it was hanging on by 1 bolt and and they just put a gasket over the other broken bolts to kinda catch the leaking oil. So please dont make the same mistake i did STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN AUTO DEPOT BACKED BY THERE 1 1/2 STAR REVIEW. read more

I went to get the vehicle smogged this month and it failed because of tampering. The smog technician told me that someone purposely put a device on the vehicle in order to hide check engine lights in order to pass a smog test. The piece that was added on the vehicle is called an O2 sensor fouler adapter and was located on the downstream O2 sensor. I called the car lot owner and told him what happened and he said he bought the vehicle already smogged from a whole-seller and gave me the contact info for that person. I called the wholesale company and he said he got the vehicle from a someone that owed him money and is no longer in business. read more

Do not ever purchase a car from this place. Before wr signed any paperwork I asked if all the maintence had been done on this van, and they (Enrique and Jose) said yes and provided a report of things that had supposedly been done. My husband and I purchased a 2008 Chrylser Town and Country. 2 days later the check engine light came on as well as the traction control light along with the van shaking AND OVER HEATING. We took the car to get the codes read, and the van needed a cam and crank shaft sensor. The repair shop checked the oil, and the oil was a few quarts low and black due to it had not been changed for months. We called, and complained to them because this of course should not be happening to a car that you just got. So after going back and forth with them for a few hours they agreed to pay for the repairs on the van but stated how they were losing their profit by doing so, and acknowledged that The van had not been well taken cat of before they sold it. Jose literally said the previous owner did not care for the van at all.... So why the hell sell it if you know this!!! Anyway they paid for the initial repairs which was done by a trusted ship in Hayward. 2 days later the check engine light can on again!!! This time the code was reading it was a bad ecm... So this time we took it to the DODGE DEALERSHIP in Stockton.. THE FIRST THING THEY SAID WAS .. THIS VAN HAS A RECALL ON IT!!! THE VAN HAS A FREAKING RECALL IN IT CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS HOT A$$ MESS!!!! The dealership had to redo whatever the hell they had to do which took almost a week because they had to order so many parts it was crazy!! THEN in the midst of that they said the van had a bad computer, and the wiring was not connected properly to anything in the engine hence the reason the car was still not running how it should ALSO PARTS IN THE ENGINE WERE CORRODED PER THE DEALERSHIP. We had to pay this dealership 1k to fix everything!! YOU READ THAT RIGHT WE HAD TO SPEND 1000 ON THIS VAN BEFORE OUR FIRST CAR PAYMENT!! ALL THE WHILE THIS DEALER WAS ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR "PROFIT" AND NOT ABOUT THE FACT THE SOLD US A SHITTY CAR AND THAT WE HAVE TO PAY FOR IT FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS!! HORRIBLE PLACE.. Financed my first car here, it was a decent dealership at first but after a few incidents this dealership isn't worth it. Test drove a couple cars and both had problems with the transmission and engine. The dealership kept calling me at work for paperwork and wouldn't understand that I got off late and demanded I bring it in at a certain time so my parents had to bring in the paperwork for me. A lot of the cars are over priced for the miles and cosmetic damage they had. Called the dealership just about a couple days ago cause I've been waiting for my registration and license plates to come in and the dealership doesn't even call me to tell me that they have them.
