My wife and I purchased a condo in Vero Beach, FL last year and want to have the three bathrooms redone. I reached out the ABS and a rep named Stefan came to our place and we reviewed all that we wanted to do. He promised to provide a proposal and some layout ideas in a week or so as it was near Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving I reached out to him and he told me he was "working on it" and would get back to me by the end of the week. The week ended and I waited until early the following week to reach out to him but I never heard back. I called the company and the person who answered told me the system showed he had sent the proposal - well I never got it. I made it clear that I had not gotten it and that I was frustrated that Stefan had basically ghosted me. The person I spoke to assured me she would email the sales manager and I said "And you'll CC me on that email so I know you did?" The person didn't seem to understand what I meant and she repeated that she would email the sales manager and this time I said, "And you'll include me on that email?" to which she replied she was unable to do that. I told her how ridiculous that as and say goodbye. Now, surprisingly, that evening I got a call from Michael the sales manager who told me that Stefan had a family issue and needed to take a leave of absence but that he would take over the project. I emailed him scaled drawings of our bathrooms along with photos and suggested that he could put together some layout ideas and a proposal based on that along with whatever information Stefan had put in to their system. Well, none of that ever materialized but my wife and I did visit their showroom and meet with Michael to, in theory, finalize some ideas and get a proposal. However, he was ill prepared, seeming to have not looked at the drawings I had sent him. And not surprisingly we never heard back from him despite one last email asking if he was still interested in the project. So either our project was to big for them or they are just incompetent. read more

I gave one star because zero wasn't an option. I simply cannot recommend American Bath and Shower to anyone. Before I continue, I would like to say to anyone from AB&S who is reading this: Look for any opinions. What I'm going to type is 100% factual. We were charged over $5,000 more than what Home Depot would have charged for the same job. The shower was NOT installed according to contract, and I'm concerned about how that will affect the resale value of my condo. The price we were quoted was over $6,500 above what we found out too late was what Home Depot would have charged. The salesman from AB&S said if we signed up right then he would take $1,500 off the price. Unfortunately, that appealed to my wife, and we got screwed. Be aware of that sales tactic. Also be careful for this: I thought we had 30 days to submit in writing that we wanted our deposit money back. It turned out to only be 3 days. Mathematically, the job could have been completed in two days at most. I complained after the installer left on the third day that he only spent two hours working each day; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Only then was I told that he would stay full days until the job was done. Again, all fact and no opinion. The grab bar was installed on the wrong wall. As a result, I could not stand straight in the shower without being squeezed between the grab bar and the door handle. I had to stand at a slant. After three weeks of that, I gave up and removed the grab bar myself. Now there is hardware on the wall where the grab bar used to be so water doesn't get in the holes and cause mold to grow behind the wall. Someone was going to come seal those holes with silicone, which AB&S told me I had to pay for, and reinstall the grab bar on the correct wall. No one bothered to call me back when I asked when they were coming. There was one person at AB&S who I felt was the most helpful, but when I asked to speak with him, I was told he was no longer with the company. We now have a shower with no grab bar, unsightly hardware on the wall, a drain that constantly needs cleaning or water will pool, and a shower head with less water pressure than our previous one. Again I remind you that none of this is my opinion. It is 100% factual. Do not hire American Bath and Shower. read more

I haven't done a whole lot of yelp reviews lately, but I wanted to put this out there. My experience with ABS was surprisingly pleasant. From the initial visit to the estimate negotiations, the representative was pleasant without being pushy. Several weeks later, the construction started. From the time construction started to the time that they completely finished was about three days, plus another day for glass installation. They cleaned up after themselves, were professional, and very friendly. They respected our property, picked up after themselves, and someone from the company stayed in touch with us during the entire process. It's hard to find contractors in South Florida, that you can actually trust, but if I had to do my other bathroom, I would hire these guys in a heartbeat. read more

Sales Rep came to house and sold us a tub to shower remodel. Scheduled the job for 2 weeks later. 1 week after sale, sales rep called back and said he wouldn't do the job for the quoted price. Told my wife that we would have to pay over $2k more because "they weren't making money on the job". We told him to either stand by his quote or we would cancel. He said no and our remodel did not go through. Classic bait and switch- do not use this company. read more

Be very careful. They mislead, lie, make promises they don't keep and then won't take calls. Still waiting for work to begin!

The salesman got us into a contract that was at 28% interest and we got charged interest even before we got a bill. We do not have any credit cards with interest. The salesman told my husband we could pay with our own credit card to get the points and cash back, but it got financed thru a company that would only accept a debit card to pay. So I paid the balance. I think the shower looks cheap and is not worth 15 grand. It is my husband's so hope it lasts for him. The installers were good and they did install in two days once all the materials were here. I do feel my husband was lied to. read more

Is there anything less than a1? The project was a disaster from the minute we signed a contract. The person who was supposed to put in the permit request never hit submit and our application was sitting on their computer for 2 weeks. Nothing but lies and misinformation. Broke a pipe and caused damage to downstairs apartment. After fighting with them, they agreed to fix the damaged ceiling. Used the wrong materials and the fix was horrible! Owner of downstairs unit called a contractor to fix it properly and we had to pay $300.00! American bath refuses to reimburse us. Do not use this company. No wonder they replaced so many people from their Pompano showroom! read more

I wanted to get an estimate for a shower remodel. A sales representative named Daniel came by with a rolling brief case and asked if I was the only one that lived in the home. I told him it was me and my wife. My wife was at work and he proceeded to tell me that he cannot give me an estimate since she would also need to be present to make sure all decision makers are on the right page. I thought that was odd since it was just an estimate and we were not proceeding at that exact moment. I stated to the sales rep that my wife and I are turning our primary home to a rental and that we were not particular with the design. I said I can get my wife on the phone to have her give the "ok" to any decisions on the estimate. He said that would work and he could do the estimate. Once I had her on the phone and explained what was going on, he then said he would still have to come back another day for the estimate. At that point I said we will move forward with a different company then since it seemed like such a hassle to get an estimate. His demeanor changed and became very rude in which I even had to ASK MULTIPLE TIMES for him to leave my house. Seems like its a big sales pitch rather then having a contractor come out to quote the work. I thought it was pretty ridiculous I couldn't even get a estimate for the work and no one stated this policy before they came out. Big red flag with this company. read more
