Useful items that you usually you only use once or twice. Borrowing instead of buying makes so much sense. But this library things just blew me away with its extensive collection. Pickleball? Sewing machine? Weights for weightlifting? Cookie cutters? They got it. They have day passes for state parks, museums, theaters... You don't need your own fax machine or your own printer. If you're computing needs are light, just come to the library and use their computers. The fees are so much more reasonable than buying equipment that becomes obsolete in 3 to 5 years. This particular library seems to have a fairly large collection of physical books. Of course, I zoomed straight for the cookbook and the gardening books. They have a great selection of cookbooks. I have collected cookbooks in the past. I got up to 65 before I realized: my shelves were about to collapse. I was only using each cookbook at best 3 to 5 recipes. This is when you realize you have got to clean house and use the library instead. But don't limit yourself to the physical books, remember to check the electronic resources. As far as I know, you have access to many libraries in the California system. I have memberships to many of the towns and cities where I have resided, and they have never canceled my electronic memberships. So I have access to at least three major systems. And it's a good thing I have access to online resources because by the time I picked up all the Cook books I knew I had reached my physical limits and it was time to stop. I was sucked in by the gift shop. This particular section had even more outré books. I picked up a book for fountain pen collectors, and I was about to buy a classic book from Harold McGee when I realized it was available online. Thank goodness. This was a bit too much weightlifting for me. A friend of mine once suggested a wonderful gift. For anyone who's into books, go to the library and pick out a selection of books that you would recommend highly. Your friend gets to read some great books without dealing with the space requirements. And if they don't like it, it's easy to get rid of them. Happy earth day! The library feels alive, welcoming and social, with people learning, collaborating and participating in events throughout the day. There's a wide range of resources available and the staff is amazing. Everyone I have interacted with has been kind, patient and eager to help. I am especially thankful to one staff member, whose name I will add when I remember it, who assisted me in the Memory Lab. With her help I was able to digitize 30 year old VHS tapes of my grandparents who have since passed away. The events, tools and services offered here are truly impressive and accessible to the public. From technology assistance to creative programs the library goes above and beyond to serve its community. I am incredibly grateful for the resources they provide and for the caring staff who make this library such a meaningful place.

Before I bought my laptop I was always using their computers I noticed that their Mac desktops are in the front of rows in the center of the building while Windows desktops take up the midsection and the back of the rows of the library. There are study rooms on each side of the library. It is so quiet in this library when compared to other libraries I've been too.

The WOW bookstore is open several days per week. It sells donated, used books, CDs, etc., and it is staffed by volunteers. I signed up to volunteer, and was really excited to learn more about donating time to the Book Store and its Board of Directors, as discussed with Volunteer Coordinator Michelle. However my experience when attending the group orientation onsite was met with prejudice and discrimination by Director Cathy. When I arrived for orientation the library staff at the Information Desk directed me to the bookstore located inside and to the right. However the bookstore door was locked. I could see the lights were on and someone was inside so I tapped lightly on the door. Cathy unlocked the door slightly, and looked at me sternly. We were face to face - less than 1 foot apart. I introduced myself, advised I was referred by Michelle, and was there for Volunteer Orientation. Another new volunteer walked up behind me, and said she "was here for the same thing." This volunteer remained about 2 feet behind me. Cathy smiled at her, opened the door wider, reached around and behind me, and shook the other volunteer's hand. Then while looking solely at the other volunteer Cathy told us where to find Michelle and the others (at a table 100 feet away). It was obvious Cathy didn't want to acknowledge, touch or speak with me. The other volunteer was not a woman of color. I am. And since I was clean, well groomed, and well dressed, I can only assume Cathy's indifference and lack of respect was because of a prejudice against women of color. At the very least she didn't feel I deserved the same basic courtesies she extended to the new volunteer standing behind me. Her actions said she didn't value me or my contributions. Shocked by Cathy's overt act of racism I managed to move towards and even participate in the orientation. Alhough I couldn't stop thinking about the way I had been treated. I did tour the bookstore briefly after the group session, at Michelle's urgence. She was excited that I had experience working on and with Boards, and wanted me to meet Cathy. I try to look for the good in people so I decided to give Cathy another chance. However after Michelle introduced us Cathy still didn't give me the greeting she had given my counterpart earlier. No hand shake, no greeting, no smile - just demanded, "tell me (her) about your work history" - with a snarl and superior demeanor. I stopped her interrogation-type inquiry and extended my hand stating I would like to "formally introduce myself." She shook it reluctantly. Still no pleasantries. There was no mistaking that she was speaking with me because Michelle told her someone was interested in volunteering in the bookstore and on the Board of Directors but when she saw it was me she couldn't hide her prejudice, again. I left there knowing I could not volunteer my time or services to an organization whose director looked down upon people and treated them differently because of the color of their skin. I provided feedback to Michelle, and reminded her we are a diverse nation, and expertise and contributions come in all colors. And told her that based on my experience I could not and would not be donating my time or services to FOVL WOW. As long as the Cathy's are in charge here African American or others of color won't be treated with the same dignity and respect. So that's a big no for me.

My toddler was running around the kid section and being a little loud and no one said anything they just allowed us to play and enjoy the space. They also have coloring tables for kids, an assortment of books and computers with kids learning games. There's a nice outdoor area too. We will be coming more often

There are also comfy cushioned chairs for sitting. There is an information desk in the middle of the room for assistance and suggestions. The bathroom is clean and well stocked. Plenty of parking and restaurants nearby if you need to go eat.

This is one of the smallest and oldest university libraries I've ever been to. It can get very…read morecrowded and loud during exam weeks. There are not that many selection of books but most students just come here to study or borrow textbooks. I do like how they have study rooms that you could reserve on their website so that you could guarantee a place to study with your friends. There is a "loud" area where you could talk and eat and a "quiet" area where there is no talking allowed. However, most of the study rooms ironically are placed in the "quiet" area which can be a distraction to the people trying to study independently. The restrooms are also placed at the end of the "quiet" area. Personally, I think the "loud" area is too loud and the "quiet" area is too quiet with lots of foot traffic going in and out of the study rooms and restrooms. So I usually prefer to study at home. There is a break room in the "loud" area though where you could take a study break to buy snacks from the vending machine or heat up food in the microwave. There is also a small computer/printer room students could use if you forgot to bring your laptop. This small tech room closes Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. Overall, I do not really enjoy studying in this environment but it does have a lot of good resources students could take advantage of if they are the type who cannot concentrate when studying home.

My 3 year old grand-daughter attends the yoga classes with Miss Gabi and the kids get way more than…read moreyoga. They're taught listening, behaving, taking turns, friendship, appreciation and a calm rarely seen in any 3 year old. The instructor is patient yet firm and in a kind way. I think the kids are getting so much more than just the yoga. This program could be in every schools curriculum and be beneficial!!

Rather than call, we live close to this office so we decided to go in person. The security guard was super nice and friendly asking us what we came in to do and if we had an appointment. We did not, so we had to take a number and wait about 20 minutes or so. He was so kind and helpful to all, greeting them ad they walked in, and saying "ok have a great day" as they walked out. The lady that we saw was patient snd explained everything to us. We were only supposed to get one set of pages 1-14 and she entered all the answers into the system that we had already done, and as for what we needed clarification on, she was very helpful and cleared it up. 5 stars for her! She said we should expect to see another set of pages come in the next couple of weeks and if we had more questions to come and see her! A lot of it was repetitive, we had no problem filling it out, but my husband did go in person to turn it in rather than put it in the mail. ( This was right during the primary voting so we didn't want it to be delayed). This is a very long review , but I hope it encourages someone to go in, and get help or clarification on SS paperwork.

Their security guard on point, alert and in great service, he called me out when I was too close to the check in, unaware, he pointed to the red sign and politely asked me to wait further back to respect the privacy of others, he would assist the elderly when they couldn't hear the muffled audible calls or see the screen. I was deeply moved by all of this, and am grateful for the security and experience. Since I came in a little late I wasn't able to complete my appeal due to consideration for closing, yet I believe her name was Betty or Becky printed out all the steps and paperwork needed, I am grateful for she have the best service due to her limitations.

You can also get death and marriage certs here which are a lot cheaper.The records office is located on the 2nd floor. There was no line but you still need to sign in and get a ticket number. The process was very quick. Everyone who works here was genuinely kind. When I came into the building looking lost, a random worker directed me to the right area. There's a public parking garage (2nd and 3rd floor) as well as street parking.
