These guys installed our carpet (which was fast and looks good) but installers caused some damage. Initially I was furious, but ACS's team is making it right. Mistakes happen and the company is taking care of their error in a very real way. read more

The company did not complete my flooring installation. What they did do looks awful in several areas. This is hardwood flooring and they did not appear to look at what they were putting down. In addition, they put holes in my walls, cut the tops of my baseboards and are not owning it. They need to make this right. This room needs to be done over in new flooring and baseboard, as well as take care of all repairs. In addition, there was a lack of value for my home based on all the damages and the fact that they turned on my ac without asking, and proceeded to open my windows and removed the screens! Who does that? That is akin to throwing my money out the window. This needs to be fixed. New flooring and baseboard must be installed ASAP! read more

Here's the good part: They kept us informed of their arrival time, they were available throughout the installation if we had concerns, they made us feel like they were happy to be here, they were quick, professional, and did an excellent job all around. We're selling our condo and interest rates are rising, so that really helped to put it on the market quickly. ACS MOVED THE INSTALL DATE UP BY ONE MONTH! A pleasant lady at ACS/ Hudson narrowed the installation window down for me. José and Juan, up from Virginia and working with ACS/Hudson, were tremendous with the install. An (overly) fussy tenant complained about the lint before they could get to it. They knew exactly how to smooth her feathers. The carpet looked beautiful. They worked so, so hard. The carpet looked **beautiful** when finished. It changed the look of the condo entirely. read more

I would give those guys a negative star if I could. I scheduled carpet installation through Home Depot in early August for end of month installation - Home Depot contracted those guys. I thought everything was cool, until the day of my carpet install on Aug 31: No show!! I got a call from a 'manager' Jane, saying oh the installer who was supposed to come to my place got sick and never showed up, can we reschedule you for tomorrow? Being the nice guy I am, I know sh*t happens. So I said sure, and I had to do a lot of work pushing out new tenants' move-in time, and reschedule the time for cleaning too. On Sept 1st, while waiting for the cleaning staff to finish everything in the morning, I got another call from Jane, again at 8:30 in the morning. This time: Oh multiple installers got sick so they can't do it. This is when I said enough is enough, I was supposed to have my carpet done yesterday, and this isn't acceptable! After not accepting the push out multiple times, I was told 'we will get back to you'. Needless to say, I'm on the phone with Home Depot as we are speaking and escalating the issue! The funniest thing with American Carpet South is they always say in their email "we look for the highest rating of EXTREMELY SATISFIED", I tell you what, I am EXTREMELY DIS-SATISFIED! I ordered about 500 square ft of carpet through Home Depot which delegated installation to American Carpet South. On the day of installation, I got a call from Sandy saying that her crew had called out sick. I explained that I had already moved all of the furniture outside as they had instructed, which left us leaving only the couch and bed inside as they would not move dressers, glass table tops or electronics. I'm glad I did move most of the furniture considering the amount of damage done to our walls. I ask what could be done for our inconvenience based on all the moving. Sandy ask that we wait until after installation and speak with the manager David. Installation day, crew shows up and immediately I'm thrown that my husband has to explain the floor plans that the person that measured made. The crew has now got the carpet in and are starting to load the bed and couch back in. I notice that the crew are not wearing disposable booties or put down paper at the threshold at the very least. I ordered a very light gray carpet so I'm starting to see staining on the carpet, from the shoes of the crew. I ask them to stop and pointed out the stains. Thinking that maybe this would make the workers remember the clean factor for the brand new carpet they had just installed. Nope. I finally ask them to just leave we would move the rest of our furniture in. Once the crew left the real revelations started. We had scratches and dirt on our brand new white barn door. Hand prints and sticky spray foam on several walls, and a very dirty entry way that included some sort of grease, that I can't for the life of me figure out where it came from. I know there are more stains on the carpet that I can't see just yet, because of what was left on our white walls it has to be on the light carpet as well. The Manager David B. A. called to check on our installation, we explained all of the above and ask for some sort help as we now have called out of work on a day we didn't plan due to the crew not showing up and then the hours of cleanup that we were not expecting. David ask us not to fill out our Home Depot survey until we could get this resolved. I sent him several pictures and have not received any response to date. read more

I ordered 1900 sq feet of flooring from Home Depot and they sent the install work to this company. Their customer service is top notch. The 2 installers are exceptional. They showed up on time over 3 days, removed all carpet from the house in 2 hours, had 5 rooms of new flooring installed by the end of the first day. Home Depot sent out an inspector during the job to see how they were progressing and how satisfied I was with their work. I would recommend this floor company for all residential work. read more

Terrible - on a contract through Home Depot. Project was paid for and supposed to be done in October. Our installation was scheduled 3 times, each time someone new came to our house and measured dimensions again rather than installing. Eventually got installation done in November, but was butchered. Staples everywhere like a 3 year old was playing with a staple gun. Supposed to come fix it, but instead they came and measured again! Laughable! Schedule again got pushed to 12/20 to fix the mistakes... On 12/20, guy shows up with a measuring tape.... kicked him out of my house. This company is a joke. read more

Worst installation experience ever. Ordered new flooring for the entire house through Home Depot. Install job outsourced to American Carpet. Given an arrival window of 12-4pm for what should have been at least one full day of work. Installers arrived at 340pm and were there until 10pm before I finally kicked them out. Rescheduled to have them come out a second time and the same thing happened. Arrived at the very end of the window, were there until 1030pm, and still couldn't complete the job. This time I was told it was because the measurements were incorrect and there wasn't enough carpet to finish. Ordered more carpet to finish the staircase and landing. When the installer arrived again with the new roll of carpet, he remeasured stairs and said he still didn't have enough carpet so he just packed up his van and left without any plan to finish. Waiting to hear back from customer service now...7 weeks after initial order, the job is still incomplete and I've had to stay home from work three different days to be present. read more

American Carpet South is extremely unreliable. An install was scheduled and I called the day before because nobody had given me a call with the install window. I was told that all workers were sick and they had to cancel. The employee said they would all be sick the next day as well so scheduled me for a week later. I left work early to be home for the 3pm-7pm window of arrival that I was given. To no surprise, at 6:30pm, I received a phone call saying that the workers were on a very large job that was going to take them into the next day. I was told to call the number back to reschedule. I called back and couldn't talk to anybody because it said that their business hours were until 5 PM. I'm sure I will reschedule again and they will probably cancel at least one more time. Meanwhile, all of the contents of my home office are taking up the space in my my living room making life with two toddlers very difficult! This company is extremely unreliable. Funny that all of their recordings on their waiting lines talk about how much they value their customers and doing right by them. read more

I can not believe a company as big as Home Depot would put their reputation out there using this unsuitable company (ACS) On 7/14 ACS came out to install my carpet from Home Depot, unfortunately one room was unable to be installed due to heavy office furniture. The installer suggested that he would precut the carpet so that when he returned he could just lay it down. He precut the carpet like he said but took the carpet when he left. I was told someone would be calling to schedule a time to return. I did not hear from ACS nor Home Depot. I called Home Depot and they were not aware of any of this so I had to wait so they could figure things out. Long story short we schedule another date for the installation and ACS installers show up on the job and they do not have enough to finish the job. So where did my carpet go??? Now we must go another month without being able to open our doors for business. I then contact Home Depot several times which then I am told we need to order the carpet and I am not happy because now we are looking at weeks . Now we need to push off our grand opening. We finally get a call from ACS that they can install the carpet GREAT NEWS!!!! 9/22 ACS time frame is 2pm-5pm thinking we will be the 1st customer seeing we have had such bad service but instead they show up closer to 5 and they DO NOT have any carpet. The installers think we have the carpet so at this point my husbands throws them out . My husband contacts ACS but nobody picks up the phone so he leaves the property. He is driving home which is 45 minutes away and receives a call from ACS stating they will grab the carpet and be at the property in 1/2 hr. My husband is 1/2 home so he refuses to turn around. On 9/23 after speaking to several people at ACS which nobody has a clue about what is going we finally get to management and are told they will have someone at the property at 8am on 9/23. So today 9/24 my husband waits patiently for yet a NO SHOW. My husband calls and is told that our time frame for today is 8-11 . CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THIS COMPANY OPERATES THEIR BUSINESS . NOT TO MENTION HOW ARE THEY EVEN IN BUSINESS. * we are a business which should have been opened in July * we have spent our valuable time waiting around to resolve an issue that is still not resolved. * we get different answers from different employees and management which is very frustrating * We are good people, very understanding and we do not usually complain but this situation is inexcusable and unacceptable. * I honestly could not make this stuff up even if I tried it's very disconcerting read more
