They charge almost $15 to iron a dress. I would have not left my items had I had more time. I specifically asked about pick up time and I as told anytime the day they'd be ready. When I arrived the employee denied having told me that. When returned later that day to get my items I was met with hostility from the employee saying I had been rude. I was paying for a service and it wasn't completed to my satisfaction you bet I'm going to bring it to your attention. My linen shirt looked like a 3 year old ironed it and then he blames the fabric for the poor ironing of my dress. He told me to take my items and leave, he was highly annoyed, shaking like a leaf and accused me of lying about being told when the items would be ready. I asked the two items to be removed from my bill and I told him I wasn't not paying for $150 worth of dry cleaning even after he told me to leave. He agreed to take my payment, I'm sure his boss was pleased. Won't use them again or recommend them. The staff I interacted with could use a lesson in customer service and cleanliness.

She put so much time and care into my highly needed and required uniform shirt, that I could barely....... And no one would be able to tell I was so ineffective eating my soup with a very nice white work shirt. I was so surprised and taken by the whole Varsity cleaners experience. Therefore I got a new suit made for me at an amazing tailor in Chapel Hill (thanks Julian's). Unfortunately, due to timing, I was not able to use them for alterations. I live in a small town and thought I'd like to take the alterations to a "professional" location in Asheville. Therefore I took the suit to Mary's based on the great recommendations here. I asked for the pants to be CUFFED, fairly simple request. I was told they would be ready to pick up 1 week later. I got a call asking me to come 2 days later. When I arrived my pants were not done. I arrived tonight to pick up the pants on the way to a major meeting to find that they WERE NOT CUFFED!!! The owner looked at the ticket, said "oh, sorry" and then told me there was no way to correct it (since the remaining fabric was in my pocket). The hemming job is adequate. Honestly, they took the time to kneel on the floor and mark my pants with chalk but couldn't get my request straight?? This is a lot different than overlooking my steak, I doubt they are buying my a new suit. Of course, they still charged me for the service of messing up my custom order suit.

I recently took a brand new pant suit to Misha's to have both the sleeves and legs shortened and…read morethe metal clips at the wais eased. When I collected it, one sleeve puckered and would not lie flat, the stitching was incomplete revealing a gaping hole, and the black threads (on a light blue suit) were clearly visible. The pants had been sewn with what could only be described as a "mess" of black stitches which were also visible from the right side. The newly added metal clips were drowned in stitches and the original clips had not been removed. I hadn't realized it was such a mess until I got it home. Reluctant to take it back, I called and Misha insisted on fixing it although he didn't fix the clips. My overall takeaway was: if you need something altered properly, don't take it to Misha!

Most were fine, though rushed, with uneven stitching--but you wouldn't notice unless you looked super closely. However, one pair of pants had particularly poor work--messy stitching that didn't match the fabric color and a new zipper that bulged out when worn. It shouldn't have gone out the door. When I called, Misha was friendly and told me he'd refund both the alteration and the cost of the pants. But when I came back a week later, he acted like that conversation never happened. Instead, he accused me of "trying to make money off of him" and refused to honor the refund he had promised. He offered to fix the pants in 30 minutes, but at that point, I had lost trust and the pants were a lost cause in my eyes. He also got loud and rude, even though I remained calm and trying to have a constructive conversation. After 15 minutes of back-and-forth, he finally wrote me a check for the $26 alteration--but then refused to give me my pants back. It's bad business to make a promise and not follow through (and take my pants?!), but even worse to treat a customer that way. I even told him he could have just said, "Bring them in and let's see what we can do" instead of making an empty promise. After that, he suddenly claimed that's what he had said all along on the phone. So easy to create false memories apparently!
