I have been going here for years regularly they are always accommodating if I need a quick turnaround the staff is always nice. Coupons are easily available and accepted. They also warn me if a piece is susceptible to bleeding colors during the dry cleaning process. And called me on one occasion when a piece lost a button during the dry cleaning process. Overall amazing experience!! I highly recommend this place!! They were extremely nice, understanding, and respectful! I called them last minute needing my bridesmaid dress dry cleaned. They were very polite and went above and beyond to make sure I got the dress on time! Not only that, but they did an amazing job dry cleaning it and getting stubborn wrinkles out! While picking up my coat yesterday. I covered heard the Young lady/the attendant waiting on shouting out from the rear refer to as a girl. She was asking the other attendant to ring me up. She said can you ring that girl up! Really!!!! I am 63 years old. I said excuse me what did she say? The attendant ringing me out repeated what I just stated. As the attendant, who referred to me as a girl approached me from the rear with my coat. I said, did you just call me a girl. She was looked shocked! I said I heard you...I told her I am 63 years old. I said ma'am is more appropriate. NO RESPECT!! It felt demeaning, hearting breaking. I am not sure if I will patronize this cleaners again. Inappropriate business practices. American cleaners does not provide good services. When making transactions they will accept your debit and or credit card if you spend five dollars or more. If you don't have exact cash to pay for your services, then your only option is to come back with cash or spend the minimum 5 dollars on your item that might only cost you $3.45. We use American Cleaners all the time, mostly out of convenience and for the readily available coupons. Husband dropped off a suit yesterday and asked to have it next day. Counter person told him if the weather wasn't bad, most likely it would be ready the next day after 4pm. Major snowstorm was expected that thankfully didn't arrive. We came back next day (today) around six and suit was ready. Have never had major issues with their service. read more

I got my wedding dress and veil cleaned here. I dropped it off, 3 months later I called to see if it was done because I hadn't heard anything from them. They told me they couldn't find my dress and would have to call me back. This happened 3 times. Finally they found it and it was done (they never called me to tell me it was). When I got it home, my $800 veil had a hole in it. I will never go to this place or any other American Cleaners again. Horrible service. read more

I'd gone here for almost 15 years, but now I'm ready to call it quits. The quality of cleaning is basic... no miracles being worked by any means. If you have a sequin or anything that might warrant dry cleaning over at home machine wash you'll have to sign a waiver so they can get away with destroying your garment! What really did it for me was when they lost my order; basically they sent it home with another person. Over the years I'd been given garments that weren't mine, which I guess means that where my garments were lost to those people, but one at a time. So they got the person to bring my order back, then charged me for it, a week after it was supposed to be ready. Of course there's no mAnager on duty, so no one to address issues there. Terrible customer service. Young, rude, immature, child-like staff. I was told that they will accept competitor coupons when I dropped my clothes off yesterday, today I brought the coupons in when coming to pick up my clothes and the young girls working the counter were extremely rude and argumentative and refused to take the coupons. They made absolutely no effort to help me even when I told them that the employee the previous day told me that the coupon would be accepted. They acted as if I was lying to them and truly treated me like some kind of imbecile. I needed these clothes cleaned because I am having to unexpectedly attend a funeral tomorrow, which is horrible enough. After the rude, immature girls working the counter finally wore me down enough (I was on my way to work) I finally just asked for my ticket so I could get the heck out of there. Credit card in hand they said, almost in a disgusting satisfactorily way, that they don't take cards. At this point I thought I was getting "punked" or was on candid camera, too bad this was real life. They made no effort to tell me that there was an ATM within walking distance of the building. Instead I ignorantly drove down the street to the next ATM, got some cash and came back and retrieved my clothes, which at that point I felt they were holding ransom. I have never been so appalled with customer service in my life. The girl literally threw her hands up and told me "YOU HAVE TO READ THE SIGNS" which mind you are little pieces of paper SCOTCH TAPED to the counter. It is pretty pathetic that the most stressful part of my day was picking up my dry cleaning, especially considering the tasks I had already tackled that day BEFORE going in to work for the rest of the night. I will never come here again. Save yourself from having a similar experience and just go down the street and use apple cleaners. Life is too short to risk our emotional sanity over picking up some dry cleaning. read more

Although I did not use their service, the lady that answered the phone was very helpful to me. She gave me tips on how to press them and what would work best for ironing. Thanks so much. So, today I went there for the 4th time to pick up a jacket that I left there May 14 for a zipper replacement. At the time I left it, I was told it would be ready for pick up on May 24. May 24 came and I tried to pick it up. It wasn't back from St. Louis yet. Maybe on Saturday, maybe I should call first. So I called on Saturday, not ready. Went back about a week later, still not ready. Tried again on June 4. Was told they'd had a hard time finding a zipper that matched, but they had found one and the jacket would be ready on June 6. Fair enough, but I was leaving on the trip for which I needed the jacket on the morning of June 6. So, purchased a new jacket for my trip. Today, June 27, I am back and went to pick up my jacket. One young woman began to help me, but the older one with whom I had spoken a couple of times and who originally told me it would be ready May 24 was there and I tried to talk to her. She snippily told me the young lady was more than capable of helping me. That wasn't the point, but guess what?!? My jacket still isn't back!! Not after the older woman said they'd found the right zipper and it would be back the 6th!! So, I've just asked for my jacket back. At this point, I'll find another way to get the zipper replaced. I don't think I'll need it again until fall, but I am seriously wondering if I'll ever see my jacket again or not. read more

Have you ever seen the infamous Seinfeld episode titled "The Soup Nazi?" If you haven't, this review may be meaningless. Suffice it to say, if the character in that episode were to operate a Dry Cleaners - this would be the place. In fact, it is ready to go with no changes necessary. Quality cleaning but bad attitude service. Why 3 stars? They do a pretty good job on dry cleaing clothes. In fact, I've got a few shirts that are rayon or linen and have wooden buttons which are apparently difficult to service (I was lectured on this by one of the employees!) but they do a great job pressing and cleaning them. 4 or 5 stars for quality of work. But.... Service - you are greeted by multiple signs upon entering the counter area; all of them telling you in no uncertain terms what you can and can't do. These signs don't mince words nor do they set the right tone for the customers. For instance, if you don't have your reciept in hand, get the heck out of the way so others can be serviced. Bradford (previous review) already alerted you that they won't take your plastic cards -bring cash! And don't you dare offer them a coupon when you return to pick up your finished clothes - you must give them upfront when dropping off laundry. One of my favorites is the tatered and old sign warning you of a "severe hanger shortage" (meaning they want you to give them unused hangers). Severe? Really? You should see our closets. Also, why can you buy these for so cheap at Dollar stores if there is such a shortage? Lastly, if you don't have your ticket (and I'm sure we've all misplaced them at one time or other) - "NO SHIRTS FOR YOU!" Seriously, this was pretty much the attitude I got on a recent visit. Sigh....I had to go back home and come again the next day. My wife likes their work (and I do to an extent) or I wouldn't put up with their attitude. Must be nice to have such great soup or laundry that people will put up with poor service just to get it! I can only hope they don't read this review and figure out who I am or, like George, Elaine, and Jerry's girlfriend, I may be banned from doing business here. NEXT!!! read more

American Cleaners really does quality work. They are always able to get the ring around the collar stains out of my white dress shirts that my wife can't seem to do. Their prices are reasonable, especially if you use the coupons that come in the mail. They offer great hours (open until 7 pm) Monday through Saturday. The only drawback is they don't accept debit or credit cards which means they only accept cash or checks (who writes checks anymore?). With all of the other conveniences, this is a minor inconvenience I can live with. I'm definitely a fan! read more

Time and time again, my laundry came back terrible wrinkled to the point where i was ironing my items right out of the package. Last night was the tipping point. Every item, less my suit coat, needed to be ironed. Nothing beats paying for laundered clothing to only have to redo it when you get home. Went here recently for my third (and possibly last) time. I've gone out the door chuckling to myself each time at how incredibly poor their customer service is. Just dropped off some shirts to be cleaned. I wasn't expecting a life-long friendship with the woman at the counter, just a professional and courteous exchange about my shirts. Instead it felt like an interrogation by the Major Case Squad. Short, one-word questions and answers from a person who apparently hasn't smiled in the past thirty years. It was obvious that she was "bothered" by my presence. I saw a Now Hiring sign among the many others that adorn the entrance. A quick note to the owner/manager who seems to follow these comments on Yelp - please raise your standards on those future new employees. They are the first and last impressions made on your customers. They make or break your business. Choose them wisely and train them well. read more

I took a white blazer here to be cleaned b/c it had a mark on the back. At pickup there were spots on the front along with a "sorry tag" that they couldn't get them out. I explained to the worker that there were no spots on the front when I dropped it off, so she stated they'd have "her" attempt to get those out "at no charge" (as if they were somehow doing ME a favor). Today I went to pick up again & the spots were unable to be removed. I told her it's in worse condition now than when I dropped it off!!! She's so sorry...Not as sorry as I am for patronizing a place with poor skill & apparently poorer customer service. I understand that mistakes happen but a half-hearted apology and no restitution for their error is not acceptable in a service industry. read more

Only take your shirts here if you are OK with American Cleaners making "barely noticeable stains" to the collars of your shirts, heavily pressed wrinkles that permanently damage the collars of your shirts, and rude ownership who will not take responsibility for her employees mistakes. I will not be returning after my most recent experience with American Cleaners and their rude owner. I pick up my shirts and notice a yellow stain on the collar of a pink dress shirt. After receiving a shirt with a pressed in wrinkle on the collar, I always inspect my shirts before I drop them off. I pointed out the stain to an employee and they attempted to re-clean the shirt. When I went to pick up the shirt several days later there was a "sorry tag" on the shirt and they informed me they were unable to fix the stain and to call their owner, Laurie. The next day after I dropped of the shirt for the owner to inspect I received a rude voicemail from the owner saying, "She could barely see the stain and that my shirts are not very...well you should probably take your shirts elsewhere". This is what American Cleaners calls customer service. American Cleaners stains your shirt but since they can "barely see the stain" its not their problem. A stain on the collar of your pink shirt is unacceptable no matter the size. They are trying to clean it one more time, but I doubt it will be fixed and I doubt I will be compensated. The owner, Laurie, is very disrespectful and will not take responsibility for any of the stains or wrinkles that her employees make to your shirts. She instead implied my shirts were cheap and that they were the problem. I wear Charles Tyrwhitt shirts which cost about $45, so they are not cheap or low quality. Also, how are my shirts the problem when I have 5 or so of the same brand shirts laundered at a time and only 1 returns with a giant, raised wrinkle in the collar? Even after redoing the shirt with the heavily pressed in wrinkle multiple times there is still a visible line on the collar where the wrinkle was. I couldn't agree with her more about not coming back. read more

I agree with Bill C.'s comment. They do good work, but the customer service sucks. Very poor atitudes from the workers. I handed the cashier a coupon when I dropped off my clothes, and she rudely stated I needed to turn it in when I pick up my clothes. So when I went to pick up my clothes, I handed the worker the coupon and she rudely stated that since I didn't turn it in when I dropped my clothes off, I couldn't use the coupon. I told her I tried and was told to turn it in when I picked up my clothes, but that didn't matter. They still said I couldn't use it. Why does it matter when it is dropped off??? read more
