Don't waste your time with them. They're extremely slow to produce small, simple orders. I had to email and call after two and a half weeks of waiting for my order of two proof prints. They hadn't even touched my order at that point. When I finally picked up my order there was gunk all over one print and the guy was really rude about having to reprint and said it would be ready the next day. When I told them I had already waited almost three weeks for it and I'm pretty disappointed that I've got to come back the next day for it. He told me they had larger orders ahead of me and flat out, that my order was not a priority. I was stunned! Besides all of this terrible customer service, the prices are really high and I promise you can find better prices at other printers in Austin. The color quality is subpar as well. Not that great... lots of excuses as to why things didn't turn out well, no effort to 'make it right' and pricing seemed average to high (even though the sales guy swore that the pricing was 'very aggressive' ) Too many problems and excuses. I gave these guys about a 6 hour turnaround time to have 2 large mirrors printed, and they got it done, I was very impressed! I was a little frustrated to find out that one of the mirrors had scratches on it after we unwrapped it. All in all, pretty good work! read more

I have been a repeat customer of ACL for over 2 years, through my capacity at one company and even going so far as to refer other clients to them. In the past year I have seen a steep decline in their customer service. Echoing what another reviewer said, the excuses are abundant and they will make very little effort to rectify an incorrect print job. I have too often overlooked these shortcomings because I found their prices to be fairly competitive, but now I'm left feeling like "you get what you pay for." The last straw came today when I was told I would have to pay to reprint a batch of posters that printed purple instead of gray.... The reason? I was told they are incapable of printing gray if there are other colors in the poster. First of all, as a professional why wouldn't you contact your customer in advance of completing their order if you think there is even a chance that the final product will not exactly mirror the image they have asked you to print? I am not the printing expert, so if there is something to be considered with either the format of the file I sent, the type of paper I'm printing on, or the type of printer needed to complete my job, that might affect how it looks in the end, the printer should be the one communicating those concerns in advance. Don't wait for the print job to come out wrong and then tell me it's my fault for not asking the right questions first. (I was supposed to ask if the gray would come out looking purple??) Never mind the fact that I have printed color-on-gray prints with them in the past with no problems, so that excuse doesn't even hold water. At this point I would prefer to find someone who can print an image that looks like the file I sent them, and not have to pay double to accomplish that. read more

I contacted American Color Labs, to create a logo for my business and create a large banner. I sent them a photo of my sketch asking them to put in in a digital format and clean it up a bit. I have not tried their service and never will. I posted to Craigslist to sell my older Mac Mini and one of their consultant replied back. I decline to have it demo with his Adobe CS4 software install and trial, and told him that the machine is limited to only 2 gigs of memory. His reply was not very courteous.
