It was a cool vibe, seeing all of the neon signs and I'm sure if it was more lively, I would've had a better time and better experience. The drinks are decently priced, and the staff is extremely friendly. Being alone here gave some Zombieland, creepy vibes and I was kind of living for it. I thought they should have some events centered around that, but it's probably like that during Halloween. I would love to check it out again on a livelier night!

The actual bar is to the left of the entrance. I love that they have a variety of drink specials as well as nonalcoholic beverages. I was hoping to get a taste of the food, but the kitchen doesn't open until 4pm. I would also suggest coming later if you want to catch a show from the live band or explore their seasonal mazes. There's plenty of photo ops, jenga, corn hole, pool, foosball, connect four, pacman, and a few other arcade games. This place is completely filled with 80s, 90s, and early 2000s' nostalgia. It's the perfect spot of tourist and for native austinites. There also a lot of vintage signs from old stores and restaurants that were local to austin as well. I would say this spot is worth the hype! I also give bonus points for the shops & food trucks outside of the bar. The perfect place to hang out with friends and have some fun.

The food is much different than its Thai siblings. Larb and Papaya Salad are distinct from Thai and in the case of Larb this is a benefit. In the case of Papaya salad, the unfiltered fish sauce leaves a much more fresh fish flavor on the front of the palette and I'm not sure most people will like that. The Lao dog was fun and I'll come back to try the burger. The Mango Sticky Rice is some of the best I've ever had.

The space itself is very gorgeous with a lot of decorations adorning the walls. The high ceilings and windows also gave a very authentic SEA feeling and the whole space felt very cozy and comfortable. The staff were all super kind and friendly as well. For drinks we got the basil sparking fizz which was so refreshing and had the perfect citrus kick that I needed to wash down all of the rich dishes. For the food, we got the taro frites, egg rolls, larb, and crispy rice. All of these were amazing. The taro frites and egg rolls were super crunchy and not too oily and acted as good palate cleansers. The larb and crispy rice were also light but the flavors had a lot of depth. You can also tell that the meat was high quality cause nothing had a smell. It was an amazing dining experience and I can't wait to be back.

The atmosphere is always friendly, relaxed, and easy to settle into whether you're there for a quick drink or hanging out for the night. The drinks are consistently great, and they also have really solid weekday food specials. The sliders and tots are definitely the go-to items on the menu and always hit the spot after a few drinks. One thing I especially appreciate is how much effort they put into the themed décor during Christmas and Halloween. It really adds personality to the space and makes coming back during the holidays feel fun and memorable every year. Just an overall great neighborhood bar with good vibes and a lot of character.

One of my stipulations for relocation was to be within walking distance of my beloved Nickel City. Guess what? I am! Less than a five-minute walk. I love this place so much. It's not always about drinking. In fact, quite often I'll do mocktails, water, or soda. It's about community and friendship. The vibe at NC can't fully be expressed in words. It has to be experienced. The staff treat locals and tourists like friends. And, if you're lucky enough, you actually become friends. They're like a family. Same can be said about patrons, whether regulars, sometimers, or tourists, everyone feels the love. Everyone just gets it! They have some of the best cocktails around. The frozen Irish coffee is incredible. Espresso martinis on tap? Yes, please! And if you want the best bar/comfort food ever then order from their food truck, Delray Cafe. Crinkle cut fries A+ Smashburgers A+ Hot Dogs A+ Grilled Cheese A+ Pizza Logs A+ Tater Tots A+ Everything on the menu A+ Be sure to give the gang in the kitchen (food truck) some love! They're putting out the real deal. Oh and let's not forget Steak Night! Much love to my fave neighbor, Nickel City!

What I didn't expect to find was an amazing gem! You may not think much of it until you step inside and get transformed into a lovely bar & restaurant with plenty of tables and TVs! We ordered a Burger & Texas Burger along with a side of tots. We also ordered the Buffalo wings as well as the Mango Habanero. Believe me when I tell you that there is some major heat (in a great way!) when ordering the MH because it will definitely make your lips smack!!!! That heat was a nice surprise considering the fact that when you think of mango habanero, you mainly get the sweet without the heat! For drinks we ordered an Austin Sour and a Cherry Kiss. Major shout out to the lovely bartender w/the little mermaid tattoo who gave us some hints about navigating DT Austin in regards to watching the bats. (we missed out but definitely going to try soon) I'll definitely be back for the wings!!! don't sleep on this business!

I ended up getting the espresso martini, and then my other person got an old-fashioned. I was asked if I wanted a shot of Bailey's with the espresso martini and that to me would've been way too much. The martini itself was almost kind of smoky. Not your typical kind of very crisp espresso martini had a nice foam on top of it. We also ended up ordering the sliders to go along as we had dinner reservations, and that bacon jam on there is magnificent. The sliders were all juicy and very well put together bun was very soft and the flavor of everything was really good. I would totally go back just for the sliders. Overall the service was great. The views were also quite stunning of downtown and the ambience overall which is very chill. I enjoyed my drink as well (5th Floor Cooldown) once we added the extra sweetener we requested. Without it, I wasn't a huge fan (wasn't sweet, despite being told that it was). Valet parking is only $15 (for 2 hours) with validation. I appreciated that, as it made parking not a headache.
