I recently dropped off a vintage slip dress to Dino and Anna's to get it taken in. I was really…read morenervous because the material is very delicate and I planned on wearing it to my birthday dinner. Anna took in the dress PERFECTLY and I couldn't have been happier. The turnaround was also very fast. I dropped it off on a Friday evening right before closing, and it was ready on the following Tuesday while I was out of town for work. I picked it back up that Friday when I got back, just one day before my dinner, and it was perfection. I'll definitely be taking more pieces to them! I walked in completely clueless on a whim, tactlessly not making an appointment, and even though it was Juan's lunchbreak he still immediately took the time to see me and work with me. That said... let the man eat. Don't interrupt his break! I still feel bad about it!!! About the tailoring: Juan is just That Dude. He WILL make you look better and point out ways to make the clothes better compliment your body that others don't even know about. The pricing felt extremely fair and not at all like I was being overcharged for the amount and quality of work being done. Not only that, Juan did me a solid by getting the alterations done in-time with a big move out of state. Last minute, off of a random walk-in, and brother still treated me like I was a long time regular. The inside lining of the coat is a bright orange and the outside is a military green canvas. The lining was browned and so dark around the neck it was gross. I hadn't worn it for a while and decided to take it here. It's amazing at how clean they got this thing. My god. The inside looks new again. I'm so happy to have my nice winter jacket back! Angel was away on business so his daughter was runningring the show. She had me try on each suit and began marking where the alterations were to be made. She never actually wrote them down. There was a charge for the shoulders, a charge for the back, a charge for a sleeve, a charge for the waist, a charge to move a pocket, a charge for the inseam, a charge for a hem. Tit for tat.... When I came back for my fitting, the some of the alterations were done on the incorrect items. I was told I had to pay to alter them as well, despite my protest. When I came back again for a fitting, on one suit jacket, where the Shoulder was corrected, the sleeve was now too short, once again, I can go on and on. She refused to accept responsibility for any errors or miscommunication. There was no reasoning with her. The only response I kept getting was the prices are pre set. RIDICULOUS!!! If I didn't need one of the suits ASAP there would have been war. My final total for three suits was 1200 DOLLARS !!! Had I paid with a credit card this would not have been an issue, my dispute would have taken care of things. However, when I went to give a large deposit which they insisted upon, I asked if they would take cash for a tax discount (a common practice) I was told sure. I was given a 3% discount. I was expecting something in the neighborhood of 10%. After I left I remember there is NO TAX ON Alterations. Once again this very unprofessional, without any business sense, nor customer relations experience sarcastic, know it all would not even consider reasoning. I am very disappointed, with this whole experience, and am considering it i do not get any type of satisfaction, having my attorney bring action against them.
