I visited the store a few times mainly for the AERIE undergarments. I stopped in last Friday to look for some jeans and shorts. It was a little overwhelmed because they just have so many women's options. I really did like though that they had a tablet in the dressing room where you could request your sizes so that was actually super cool. The guy that was helping me was quick and friendly.. but there was a girl who was there too and she was rude as hell. The Brea mall has done lots of remodeling lately. It's definitely worth checking out and the store is near the new wing that recently opened. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at the American Eagle in the Brea Mall. From the moment I walked up and said good morning, the cashier's demeanor was cold and unwelcoming. She didn't respond, avoided eye contact, and immediately grabbed my items and opened her register without any attempt to be friendly or helpful. I was there regarding an online purchase, and when I tried to explain my situation, she continued asking questions but didn't actually try to help me resolve it. Her tone felt dismissive and condescending, which made the interaction uncomfortable. Since I didn't have the physical card with me, she said she couldn't help and had to call a manager. Thankfully, the manager was able to quickly figure out that I had used Apple Pay and clarified things. I appreciated the manager stepping in, but the initial interaction left a really negative impression. Customer service is such a big part of the in-store experience, and I hope this location can work on being more welcoming and respectful to customers. Shop online don't go in store. read more

American Eagle & Aerie Store - Shoe Stores Near Me - Brea, California

American Eagle (AE) was one of our favorite brands when I was younger, but when the stores closed at South Coast and the Brea Mall more than a decade ago, we stopped shopping at AE until a few months ago at the Ontario Mills location. A few weeks ago, I purchased a few jeans online to try out and knew that it would be easy to exchange or return since there was now a location at the Brea Mall. Each time I visited this AE location, the employees have been attentive and offered great customer service - which is such a rarity these days! I thanked the cashier last week because he provided wonderful customer service. If you purchase something online and exchange it in the store, they actually offer $5 off your purchase in-store. It is unheard of! In-between the decades of purchasing AE jeans until now, I had purchased another brand with my favorite fit and style but as of last year, they no longer carry the fit and style I like so I was thankful that AE has many different fits and styles still. Quality is great and there is something for everyone. The shelves are always fully stocked and neatly stacked. The clearance/sale section is in the back and the fitting rooms are in the middle of the store, to the right. This AE and Aerie location is located near Uniqlo and diagonally across from Zara Men. They also still provide shopping bags for your purchases, as a store should. (I feel many stores are just making money from charging when you make a purchase = greed, not valuing its customers.) read more

AE was my favorite store when I was in college, and many years later, it has now became my own teenagers' favorite store. Not much has changed over the years, except now my daughters thinks that I'm too old to wear some of the tops, dresses, and jewelry. It's hilarious when I see a cute sweater and I get those "'Mom, not for you!" comments. AE at Brea Mall is very clean and organized. Love they always have a huge area for their clearance items. Their clothes are of great quality - for example, I was able to pass on some old jean skirts and sweaters I bought over 10-15+ years ago to my 15 year old daughter. So, some may think their items may be overpriced but you get what you pay for. Not greeted by any Staff during my entire visit despite non of them were busy since we came right when they opened and pretty much their first and few customers. A 6/10 for AE in Brea. read more

Went into the Aerie side of the store. I browsed through their workout leggings. They seem like they're solid quality and there was a sale going on, but didn't end up buying anything because I realized I have too many leggings at home. I would possibly buy from them in the future. read more

I was picking up my order I asked Kaylee/Kaylie and she said she'd help me up at the front because the Aerie reg was closed. I had my order number ready no rush for her and she said passively, "just give me a sec I'm logging in". I was in no rush I usually just have it ready. I didn't have the email because my inbox is full, I had the order number on the app. She was speaking to me like I was stupid saying it should be only 4 blue numbers, and then we'll just look it up by last name. I wasn't rude or demanding nor rushing her. Maybe she was having a bad day but I've worked retail for 2 years and I've always done my best to treat customers with kindness, even on hard days. I shop here around once a month. They have great loungewear and jeans. The store is clean. Employees are not very friendly and usually don't greet me. Sometimes the sales can be confusing and I dread asking the employees for anything at all. I think the clothing is great but I wish the shopping experiences were nicer. Also, the fact that we have to purchase a bag is ridiculous considering the cost of your clothing. read more

Went to the store around 2-3pm yesterday, Tuesday (4/21) when there were 2 ladies working the shift. I honestly thought they were shoppers as well by the way they were just walking/squeezing past me. I'm usually aware of my space, if I'm in anyone's way but the short, curly-haired employee made it seem like I'm in her way. No usual acknowledgment if they can help me or if I'm looking for anything specific. I don't mind it tho because I already know what I'm getting. Now when I went to the fitting rooms, I was waiting for an assistance because they usually have to unlock a room for you. Same employee just breezes through me, no acknowledgement at all. Just looks at me to tell me "just close the door after you're done." I was just laughing to myself when I got in the fitting room because it's so on brand for my generation (Gen Z) to not have an over the top customer service and I was just gonna forget about my whole shopping experience and go about my day. Cherry on top was the other employee, taller and blonde IGNORING me at check out. She was helping another customer beforehand so I was obviously in line, waiting for my turn. After she finished helping them, she just started walking away from the counter and I looked dumb looking around waiting for someone to take over the register and help me. Mean girls working in retail, if you hate your job so much then leave--don't take it out on customers. The gentleman who seems to be the one in charge noticed I wasn't being helped and came to the rescue. read more

My friend and I had a horrible experience when picking up an online order. The sales associate Kaylee gave a very passive aggressive tone to my friend when she was asking her a question about her order. It made my friend and I very uncomfortable because we approached her in a very kind way and to be treated like that was very belittling. There were no other customers in store, which made it very confusing on why she was so aggressive towards my friend's question. I have always had a great experiences at Aerie Brea but now I would reconsider going to a place where sales associates treat their customers with a little bit of grace. read more

I went to aerie today and no one offered me a bag clearly seeing me carry about 5 to 6 items. All with hangers, customer service was horrible. The only location I recommend going to is in Arcadia. Ladies were very rude and not attentive as someone who works in retail I did not feel comfortable shopping here. Even after buying all of my items I was not thanked Nor Did anyone say goodbye or Have a good day. The ladies there are very stuck up.I would not recommend. read more

I went in to the store because I had my very first interview and was nervous. I wanted to find a great outfit that made me confident and helped me look professional. I asked an employee for some help and he came back with a bunch of outfits for me to try on and gave me his true and honest opinion on each one. It was a very welcoming environment, Dylan was right there at the front of the store to welcome my sister and I with a welcoming smile. He was very helpful, answered all of my questions, and led me straight to the jeans I was looking for. He also got a fitting room started for me and when the jeans I wanted weren't available in a certain color, he found them online.
