It took a while to realize most of their sizes were towards plus, n that for me size 1 or 2 would be good. However i did find a couple of racks with those. They ddnt have any objection to trying as many as i liked. The lady showed me a few popular designs that i liked. This with a few scarves, pins n arm covers totally satisfied my modest wear needs for the time being. My friends liked them & i have recommended the place to those visiting Chicago. He was not friendly and rude. Every price we asked he had doubled (we went to another place that sold us scarves for half the price he was charging). I saw several items in store I would have purchased if, during my shopping trip I wasn't on a tight budget. That being said, if you are on a tight budget, this isn't the place for you. But if you have loads of cash to spare, this is a great place to go. I also like that you can look on their website prior to visiting and most of the things are also in store. I had my 9 year old niece with me and I couldn't remove her from this place fast enough. If rap lyrics come with warnings on their labels WHY WOULD YOU PLAY THEM IN A STORE??? I will NEVER shop at any Akira again. I found similar music in the Hyde Park store, only I was alone that time. Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I was recommended this place to buy my daughter's dress, and a couple of months ago, we went to see what options they had. When we arrived, the only person in the store at that moment was busy with three women at the counter. She saw us walk in, but didn't acknowledge us, not even a simple "I'll be with you in a moment" or "Please give me a few minutes." We overlooked this because she was the only one working, and we understood she was attending to customers. However, what followed was humiliating. About five minutes later, the women she was helping left, and instead of addressing us, she chose to ignore us, arrange things on the counter, and then head to the back of the store without saying a single word. No "Excuse me" or "I'll be right with you." It felt like she thought that if she ignored us, we would just leave. Since we stayed because we wanted to see dresses, another five minutes passed before my sister had to go find her in the back. When she finally came out, instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude, and the very first thing she asked before even offering any help was, "What's your budget? So I can see if I have something," in an arrogant and dismissive tone. To this day, I don't understand why she was bothered by our presence or why she treated us that way. The moral of the story: give your business to those who treat you well. We ended up buying the dress at Peaches. I had to drive to the city, but the service we received there was outstanding--and, ironically, we were helped by young ladies, not by a woman over 40 who should know better. If I could give this place negative five stars, I would. My intention was to support a local business, but in the end, driving farther to the city was absolutely worth it for the professionalism and respect we received elsewhere.

I don't have time to constantly buy clothing and return them because either I can't fit them or they don't look right, but that's what happens at a place that doesn't have a dressing room. I appreciate that they have a return policy but they REALLY Need to have a dressing room. It really rubs me the wrong way that I can't try on anything, I just have to buy it on a whim and HOPE IT WORKS. Again, that ruins the experience for me.
