I am a First Home Buyer who closed on my home in GA the 1st week of October 2024. One of the things…read morecaught during my home inspection was that the furnace was not working, and the fire did not stay lit. My realtor and I brought this to the sellers attention, and required this be one of the items fixed in the home. My seller utilized Accurate Heating & Air, LLC to come out and fix this problem. They claimed it was fixed, and provided the invoice they paid to this company, and claimed the fire stayed lit for 23 minutes to confirm repairs. This was in July of 2024. Finally getting to closing in October 2024, I had not moved into the home, and no one was staying in the home. I started getting things moved in the end of November, and turned on the Heat, and to my shock it was not working. GA has been in temperatures of 30 Degrees, and it has been very cold, and this was unexpected. I remembered that this was a problem that was supposed to be fixed by this company, and so I reached out to the company to explain my grievance. Brian, who is the owner, I could not get a hold off and ended up speaking to his wife Meredith. After explaining the situation, and that no one had touched the furnace or even been in the home till end of November, she automatically claimed it was not her companies fault that the heat is not working, and that it was fixed in July. I advised I dont see how if this was fixed and no one has been in the home since, why all of a sudden the heat is no longer working. She stated they can come and take a look and see what the problem is and get me a quote, which I advised this is something I shouldnt be liable for and should be passed on to the seller as this was claimed to be fixed. I contacted the sellers agent and explained the situation, and she stated she would work with Brian on this. The company finally came out on Monday, 12/2 to look at the issue. Meredith stated initially that her husband Brian would come out and handle this, but it was a different technician, Austin, who came out. I am not sure how long he was there, but I never got a call or response from any party that day as to what the problem was. Fastforward to 12/4 & 12/5, I reach out to Meredith on understanding what the problem was and received an invoice for service of $88.40. I believed this was the amount due for the work as stated in the invoice, and reached out to confirm when they could come out to do it. Meredith then states this was just an invoice for them to come out to look at the unit, and the estimate was going to be around $400. I decided not to continue with this company, as I couldnt trust the work was going to get done right, and so I advised she didnt need to complete the estimate and send. She then states that I still have to pay the Invoice as they came out to look at the unit. I told her that was very wrong, as this should have been a courtesy from them who originally did the work and claimed the heater was working when in fact it was not. She then threatened to go to the courts to put a lien on my home if I dont pay by 5pm that day. NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE & I was left with still a broken heater. I would advise all parties to stay clear of Meredith and Brian, and this company as they have terrible customer service, and dont care about the client at all, just the money!

The next business day, I decided to reach out to the manufacturer instead. They sent out an authorized dealer who properly diagnosed the issue. The compressor was completely fine--the real problem was the coil in the attic. Since it was under warranty, I only had to pay $550 for labor. The coil was replaced and my AC has been working perfectly ever since. What's worse, the technician from the manufacturer told me that my compressor had actually been overcharged with Freon--it never needed Freon in the first place, and he had to release the excess. If I had trusted "Arnold," I would have spent $1,500 on a compressor I didn't need and still had no working AC. Very disappointing experience. Be careful. Best HVAC experience we've had in 30 years…read more Our upstairs unit stopped cooling and we called another local HVAC company out to look at it. Took their tech just 10 minutes to tell us we were low on freon due to a bad coil and we were looking at $3500 to replace. Guy never used a leak detector he just knew the leak was in the coil. I wanted a 2nd opinion before spending that kind of money so I called J&R based on their 5 star Yelp rating and the things people were saying in their reviews. Joe showed up, immediately took the unit apart, and spent over an hour using a leak detector to try to locate the coolant leak. Couldn't find a leak. He ended up leaving the system pressurized with nitrogen over a weekend only to come back on Monday and find no pressure loss. No leak - no bad coil. The issue was the other guys (who've serviced our units for 2 yrs) had left the valve caps loose on the exterior unit. Joe's diligence and honesty saved us a lot of money and earned him a customer for life. Its really rare nowadays to find someone with this kind of ethics. Joe's a likeable guy, explains what he's doing and why, and isn't out there trying to run up the tab on the repair. You sometimes hear companies saying they'll treat you like family. Joe never said that and its not on their website or their marketing material but that's definitely how I felt I was treated - like family.

Follow-Up Review: Continued Refusal to Address Significant Damage…read more I'm posting this follow-up to inform potential customers that Assured Comfort Heating, Air, and Plumbing still refuses to accept responsibility for the significant damage caused to my home--originally exceeding $100,000 in mold remediation and repairs. During an attempt to correct their own sloppy workmanship, they caused an additional $4,000 in secondary damage, which their insurance company did not cover and they refuse to reimburse. Despite being formally served by the Marshal's Office, Assured Comfort has failed to respond to my small claims court filing. As a result, I'm now pursuing a default judgment in Fulton County Superior Court. Given the unprofessional service, extensive damage, and complete lack of accountability, I strongly advise prospective customers to seek a different provider--there are many reputable options in the area, such as CoolRay, Premier Indoor Comfort, and Casteel Heating and Cooling, all of which can be easily found on Google with far better reviews and ratings. Don't risk going through the nightmare I've experienced with Assured Comfort.

My original HVAC unit was probably over 20 years old, but the furnace was replaced about 10 years ago. His recommendation (unlike all the others, including the company that sold me the heater in 1014), was to hold off as long as possible on the heater and AC replacement - since they are both working and get the ductwork correct, thereby taking undue load off the existing systems, which should extend their life. The other guys, either knew, or should have known that the ductwork wasn't right, and that selling me new heaters and coolers was not the best way for me to go). Who knows how long my old AC will llast, but I can tell you that my house cools and heats much better after the ductwork correct. You guys have a loyal customer now, and I know who I am going to trust when I do need a new system. Thank you!
