If I could give 6 stars, I would! I called at 12:25 to ask if they could alter something for me, she asked me to come on in. Arrived at 12:30 (I work close by), she made the alteration at that moment and then charged me $0.00 even when I demanded that I pay. She ensured that the fabric would move even when she altered the area I asked, was thoughtful about it all, and then I was out of there by 12:40! I took my wedding dress here to get altered after another tailor gave me an exorbitant quote and told me there was barely enough time to get the alterations done (~2 months before my wedding). Svetlana told me that quote was a ripoff and asked when I want to come pick up the dress. I asked "for a fitting?" and she said "No, it'll fit you like a glove." I gave her a date, showed up a month later, and it did. She did things to the dress others told me were impossible, made a beautiful bustle I got compliments on during my wedding, and was just a sweet and comforting presence to have around for a stressed out bride-to-be. First off, on a personal level, Svetlana is hands down the most genuine, sweet, caring woman I have ever met in my life and I realized that within the first 10 minutes of knowing her. I went in casually for a bridesmaids dress alteration and this location just happened to be conveniently located near my work. The alteration work I needed done was a bit complex, essentially someone had previously altered this dress and completely messed it up. When I took it in to Svetlana she recognized the mistakes that were made by the other alterations person and immediately said she could fix it. After a quick try-on and assessment I left the dress there and told her not to rush take all the time she needs. I paid ahead and it only cost me $40 for the fix. Just a short week and a half later, I went in for pick-up to be greeted again by the lovely Svetlana, who is ALWAYS smiling and ALWAYS happy to see me as if I were her own child. She pulled out my dress and I honest to goodness didn't know what to expect, the previous mistakes were pretty bad. When she unraveled the plastic to reveal the new perfectly clean seams I was beside myself. She did what I didn't believe was possible and made my dress like new again. For what should have cost much more, she took my entire dress apart and reassembled it fixing all of the details that the other person had missed/overlooked. The bride had ordered me the smallest size in the dress us girls are wearing to her wedding. This dress was still too small for me! I think there may have been cheaper/easier ways to alter my dress, but she wanted to make sure that it looked perfect. I took one pair of pants here to be hemmed. It was a simple alteration with nothing other than taking the hem up a couple inches requested. They had a week to get them done. I went in a week later. They took 10 minutes looking for the pants and then told me they weren't done because "he got sick." I came back in two days later to pick them up and waited 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. Svetlana got off the phone and before she noticed I was there, began to bad mouth the customer she'd just talked with to another employee. She was startled when I said 'hello." Those experiences alone are enough to keep me from going back. But on top of that, my pants weren't even done well. I've used him for several years (including when he used to work in Magnolia and I used to have to go out of my way to get to him during his open hours) and have always been really impressed with his work. I've never had him make a garment from scratch for me, but it's just a matter of time. I've had him alter bridesmaid's gowns, suits, silk blouses, slacks, casual dresses, winter coats, you name it! I'm super tall and rarely get to wear clothes off the rack. And if you believe the folks on "What Not to Wear," no one should be wearing clothes off the rack. It's amazing how amazing you feel when a garment actually fits your body. Vladamir is extremely professional, works fast and listens to what you want. He will tell you his opinion, but isn't pushy. He genuinely wants the result to look amazing on you and be of very good quality. It's clear he has a lot of experience and knows exactly what techniques to use to give you the look you want.
