I needed it done quickly, done cleanly, and done in a way that would not have me dealing with sagging gates and wobbly posts a few years from now. I talked to several companies and collected multiple quotes before choosing Exclusive. What set them apart was how thorough they were. Nick answered my many questions without making me feel like "that guy," and he was the only one who provided a written workmanship warranty in the estimate. That mattered to me because I like things in writing, not just in someone's memory. Joe and Mark were awesome. They worked fast, kept the site clean, and the craftsmanship is top notch. Update: I was so pleased with the back fence that I talked…read moremy neighbor into doing our shared side fence with Froggy Fence. Completely different experience. It took weeks to complete and was completely sub standard. The fence between our yards was down for over a week and another neighbor had to bring over a construction fence to prevent my blind dog from falling in the neighbors pool. Rather than a two sided fence, my neighbor opted to just have my side finished and she was good with the unfinished back side. I asked Chris to make sure all boards were touching so I didn't have big gaps between the boards. It actually looks like he used a spacer and the boards aren't even dry yet so it will be worse. There's a 2 x 6 kick board at the bottom and a big gap between the fence boards and the kick board. Numerous boards split and cracked when he put them up and he just went ahead and stained over them. Neither of the gates are level. Two of the post holes were not filled all the way with cement. I made the mistake of paying Chris before noticing all the problems. I repeatedly called and sent texts that went ignored for weeks. Finally I threatened to file a complaint with the BBB, take him to court and leave bad reviews. Only then did he come out and fill the post holes, replace the cracked boards, and finish staining the top rail. Everytime I look at my $7K fence (my side only for 100') I get mad. The gaps look really bad and as a former woodworker, the unlevel gates drive me nuts. I paid what I consider a premium price for quality work, but this time the quality workmanship just was not there. The first fence was built predominantly by his employee Edgar, who apparently no longer works there.

A second pressure-treated fence post has rotted in my Ergeon fence. Pressure-treated lumber should…read morelast 10 to 15 years, if not longer. As with the first rotted post, which Ergeon replaced while the fence was still under warranty last year, the concrete footing appears not to have been properly sloped to shed water. This post is located in an area that gets wet only when it rains, yet it has still rotted. The problem appears to be a defect in the original installation, exactly like the post approximately eight feet away that Ergeon replaced under warranty. Ergeon's subcontractors may work quickly, but my fence suggests that speed does not translate into quality workmanship. When I contacted Ergeon, I was told the post was outside the warranty period. When I expressed my disappointment that Ergeon would not take responsibility for what appears to be an installation defect, I was then told that Ergeon no longer replaces individual posts and instead replaces entire fence panels. Perhaps that policy is intended to discourage customers from pursuing relatively minor repairs. It certainly seems like a convenient way to turn a defective post into a much larger repair at the customer's expense. I politely declined to pay for an unnecessary full-panel replacement. A few weeks later, I received a message from Juan asking whether I was available between 1 pm and 3 pm on August 5 for an Ergeon representative to address the post. I replied that I was surprised to hear from him after previously being told that Ergeon would replace only the entire panel. I confirmed that I was available and asked for additional information about the work. No response. I followed up again this morning. Still no response. One o'clock came and went. Then three o'clock. No representative arrived, and no one contacted me. Ergeon appears to rely on a seemingly endless supply of new customers rather than supporting the customers it already has. That's a remarkably shortsighted business model. Most residential properties have at least three fenced sides. A customer who hires Ergeon to install one section of fencing could easily return for the remaining sections, provided the company delivers quality work and stands behind it. There's also the matter of referrals. After my fence was installed, a handful of neighbors asked for Ergeon's contact information. I've since told my neighbors that, Ergeon may not be the best choice for a fence installation - based on my experience. I hope this review gives you a healthy warning about Ergeon. It may not affect Ergeon's bottom line, but prospective customers deserve to know how the company handles apparent installation defects, warranty concerns, and scheduled service visits that simply don't happen.
