What a difference, Juan actually answered my phone call, came by my house promptly and worked with me on designing something for my front yard. From start to finish, Juan and his crew were there on time everyday, removing the old yard, repairing the sprinkler systems, planting new plants and installing artificial grass. From start to finish the backyard project took over a year to finish. Our backyard project was not big. This was an extremely stressful process as we had to check up on the work throughout; at points we went months without any work being done and David always had an excuse. Admittedly, we didn't have all the final decisions made prior to the start and things were fluid at times but there was always work that could have been done which didn't happen unless we pushed. With the amount we paid we thought the owner would have been more helpful with design but were left to do research and find/look at materials ourselves. We had to withhold payments because work wasn't being done despite being pestered and payments demanded from the owner. Numerous times we had to have conversations regarding progressive payments being demanded by the owner despite lack of work being performed. The only thing that motivated the owner to get back to work was us withholding payment. The owner clearly had too many projects and not enough workers resulting in the customer suffering which we heard from one of the workers was an issue with his other jobs too. We had a large landscaping company come out while we had one of the long breaks in work and pointed out many issues and stated they would've completed the job in 3 weeks. It was exhausting and stressful to have to inspect every aspect of the job and find subpar work being performed/corners being cut. An issue we still have is drainage, which we questioned the owner about prior to finishing the project but were assured it wouldn't be an issue. We trusted him but again learned the hard way not to. We are going to have to hire another company to fix the lake that arrives in the middle of our backyard when a large rain occurs. Our project was expensive and his bid was on the high side compared with others so needless to say we expected much better.

One specific issue I wanted to note below: Here is what the contract said: "Fix and move existing irrigation in the backyard to new shape of lawn." When they put in new irrigation, they chose to bury an old sprinkler. The old sprinkler is now leaking. Why didn't they just FIX AND MOVE the old sprinkler like the contract said? Owner danced around this question, and they won't repair it. Now I will have to pay a new company to repair it. There were some other questionable events, but I will be respectful and not go into them. I DO NOT recommend using Shear Perfection Landscape.

Chad was friendly, professional, had exceptional working knowledge, explained things perfectly, and listened to my goals (so important!). He immediately understood what I wanted to do with both yards, offering wonderful suggestions based on his years of experience. The quote I received was great, covering everything Chad and I had discussed. They were able to get me on their schedule right away. The team that came out and performed the work (Romeo, Luke, Roberto and Caesar) were exceptional. Always friendly, professional, willing to answer my many questions (lol!), and their work product was perfect. Andrea was a fantastic Admin. She kept all the paperwork and communication flowing, and was a wonderful resource when I had questions. Chad was great - onsite and present often, providing information and ensuring that I was happy with the progress. The project included: demoing the bark, patio and existing fountain; removing plants; replacing old drip and lighting lines; replacing irrigation valves and solenoids; finishing all beds with lava rock; pouring approx (1000) sq ft of concrete - 2 color stamped pattern; installing a header board along a property line; and building a mini retaining wall along the sidewalk. They cleaned up everything when they were finished, it was spotless. The work done was exactly as we discussed and I am so pleased. They will be coming back out to seal the concrete after it is done curing. Based on my wonderful experience with them I highly recommend Shear Perfection Landscaping. We had a great experience with Lemos Landscape! We bought our house and the backyard was a blank…read morecanvas. Our good friends recommended them, so we called for a quote. They came out in July/august and gave us a pretty reasonable quote for the amount of work that needed to be done. He was booked out a few months (which is honestly a good sign) so they couldn't complete the work until Nov. we happened to be away on vacation when they started the work and we're a little concerned about them starting without us home to remind them what we wanted. Such a relief, he had remembered and noted everything we wanted and talked about Months before. The work was completed in less than two weeks. The guys doing the work we're efficient and nice, and worked so hard every day to get this completed timely. There was one hiccup about a stone pathway we wanted (not pictured) . The charge for the stone pathway was about $500 for these large stones to walk around the side of our house. The stones came quite a bit smaller than we had discussed and they agreed and didn't charge us for them. The customer service is outstanding! We are planning to do our front yard in the next year or two and will definitely be calling them again.

The two most pressing issues are below: 1) He recommended planting five olive trees by our pool. We asked if that would cause any issues with our pool multiple times and he said no. A year later we had an arborist out to train and trim some trees and he said the olive trees are going to ruin the pool and pipes around the pool. We subsequently had to replant them all in pots. 2) Our grass has constantly been a mix of yellow and green. We can't seem to get a lush green like all our neighbors despite following Green Acres fertilizer directions. Thinking it our fault, we hired a grass specialist to start maintaining our grass for us. He did some soil samples and said fertilizer isn't going to help at all. The issue is all the sand under the grass. The roots can't take hold because Matt and his team put way too much sand under the sod they put down. Now we have to hire a legit landscaper to redo everything. This was not a cheap project by any means. Use at your own peril.
