In total, he created five detailed designs: overall layout, irrigation, drainage, lighting, and plants. During each step of the way, he carefully listened to our ideas, and crafted a design that matched the feel we were going for while simultaneously making sure it would all work well together. I was particularly impressed with the amount of thought he put into his selection of our plants, trees, and shrubs. I suppose the greatest testament to his work is that when I first showed the designs to my landscape contractor, he asked for Harlan's number - hah!
