Welcome to today's video and the start of Memorial Day Weekend. In past videos, you've seen how amazing the American Grill's burgers, cheesesteaks, and chili dogs are, but this is my first time trying their smoked meats. I went for the two-meat combo with smoked ribs and wings--the wings came with sweet chili sauce, and I used their signature BBQ sauce on the ribs. You also get two sides, so I chose mac and cheese and slaw. The service was excellent as always, and the hospitality felt just like being at a southern-style restaurant. The slaw was on the drier side but very tasty, and the mac and cheese was unlike anything local--unique and different in the best way. The wings were smoked to perfection, crispy with great flavor, and I tried their "yellow cap" sauce since it's recommended for chicken. The ribs were meaty, tender, and just as good as the wings. For a taste that reminds me of the South, the American Grill is the place to be. Big thanks to the owners and staff for consistently providing great food and service. My family and I decided to order online for American Grill & BBQ. It's relatively close and we didn't have to wait too long to get our food, about 20 minutes. I got the crispy chicken sandwich which was supposed to be dipped in ranch, but it wasn't. The sandwich was actually pretty good. It wasn't dry and it was tasty. The buns were soggy which I don't mind, but others might. Now I got a side of Mac and cheese and it was flavorless, legit tasted like nothing. My family got other items like pulled pork and the chicken cheesesteak and they all enjoyed it, which is surprising because they are picky. The food was good but keep in mind it is greasy and oily. It's not necessarily healthy but it was yummy, besides the Mac and cheese. We didn't dine in so we can't comment on the service or ambiance, but overall the food was pretty good. **EDIT: All of my family have upset stomachs while digesting the food. the sharp burger with cheddar cheese & bacon bits was hands down the best burger i've ever eaten, especially paired with their american gold sauce. everyone in here clearly enjoys their job & were incredibly friendly. i wasn't a fan of the drink selection, the water was gross & the sweet tea was watered down with said gross water but once i got a soda i was fine. the place was clean & while it was too cold to dine outside, they seemed to have a gorgeous outdoor seating area! i live hours away and was already planning a trip back just to eat here again in the summer before i left the table!! read more

We dined at American grill. I ordered boneless bits expecting fresh chicken. Unfortunately what I got was frozen chicken tenders cut up. They were as hard as a rock. Very disappointing. read more

The service was great, staff was friendly and made suggestions for my lunch. I had the side salad and the nacho. I do wish the nachos had more veggies on them to make them more substantial- grilled onions, tomatoes and perhaps some jalapeños would have made it even better read more

Only my second time here, pretty good food and great service. Only complaint was I ordered my burger medium and it came out well done but everything was hot fresh and tasty. Service was genuinely friendly quick to refill drinks and don't rush us out. read more

Recently got takeout from this place for the first time and the food was fine, but three hours later I had the most sudden onset of food poisoning I've ever experienced. They really need to check on their food safety protocols as I can see I'm not the only one who experienced food-borne illness or had concerns about food handling based on previous reviews. read more

Stopped here today after a haircut and my boys and I loved it! The service was amazing and both girls we came in contact with were super friendly! Food was great and not overpriced. We started with nachos and they were good but could use some more toppings like jalapeños, etc. All three of our sandwiches were great and the cookie dessert was awesome. We will definitely be back. The people were nice and helpful, thats their biggest plus. However, they charge $16 for a 2 meat combo. If you want ribs or brisket it's $2 a piece. Which means it's $20 for a 2 meat combo, not $16. I received 4 meaty ribs but about 2 ounces of very thin brisket placed on top of Texas toast, I suppose to make it look like more. And it was very fatty. The banana pudding is excellent. I was deeply disappointed that when I went to change my child in the bathroom, there wasn't a changing table. I went out and asked if there was somewhere else a changing table would be. The manager responded there's a dresser in the bathroom you can change him on. Keep in mind there were decorations on this dresser. So I had to move everything off to just change him. Not to mention how unsafe that was. The bathroom was huge and had plenty of places to put a changing table for the safety of our children. I will not be back until they either put one in or my children our out of diapers. read more

Been wanting to order for quite some time . Had to hit a store nearby and on a Thursday I saw the smoker working from behind the building. That's a good sign so I ordered brisket , ribs, pulled pork with greens , Mac cheese , beans as sides. While the meat had an awesome smoky flavor I was so disappointed with the brisket . It was sliced deli thin and from what I can assume was warmed on a flat top to the point of having a jerky like consistency. So so bummed . If I had to sub up this place in one word, it would be splendid. Everything was above excellent, the waiters are unbelievably nice and funny. I got boneless bites and BBQ fry's, it was all heavenly. My daughter and I really enjoy the food at American Grill. However recently we have visited with horrible service! We sat ourselves out back with only 3 other tables. 15 minutes for a server and then another 5 mins for drinks. Today as we sit here with there being only 1 other table it again took 20 minutes (we timed it) for anyone to come over. My daughter had to go inside to find someone . You would think that if there was 9 employees hanging around someone would come to us. I've been serving for 25 years, and never have i worked someplace that that's ok.. Really excited to try this place for the first time and got take out because we were in a rush with family at home. Very friendly, helpful staff, and the food would've been awesome...except it was ice cold. Ordered, got it 10 Minutes later (which is great) but you'd expect the brisket, pulled pork, and all to be hot. The ribs were like warm, the other meats were completely cold to the point we had to microwave them. Disappointed but willing to give them another shot, hopefully next time will change our opinions. read more

I love this place! I'm a huge bbq fan and this is my go to place. I live in Allentown now and there's some good BBQ down here, but they can't compete with American Grill. Whenever I am visiting family In NEPA, I go to American Grill. I'm actually going again tomorrow because writing this review reminded me. Their sauces are amazing! I usually go for double brisket with French fries and Mac and cheese, but I've also tried their burgers and a few sandwiches that are on point. Although this place is 25 mins from us, we try to get there at least every other week. Let's start with the owners, they are super customer focused and on top of their game. Constantly checking on everyone and the food coming out of the kitchen. Now for the food, listen, I am NOT a huge fan of BBQ, but I will lay into their Brisket and Pork. The dry rubs they use are not over the top, my husband loves the sauce caddy so he can select what he is in the mood for. Some fridays they have a half a chicken as part of their meats and my husband loves it! The burgers are delicious and they have quite a variety. The staff is all young girls, they are all very polite although they seem to switch up staff pretty often. We have never had bad FOOD or SERVICE. Prices are what you would pay anywhere per person. This is a local go to place for me... Quality burgers and frys... Not to mention hot dogs and wings... They have a good hotdog chili that makes the burgers or hot dogs stick out as really good. Good for the work guys for lunch and family for dinner... Wife loves the salads and custom made dressings, having soft serve ice cream is a unique ending for a restruaunt.. Best bbq in the area! Service is highly attentive, prices are reasonable! The only thing odd is their idea of boneless wings is taking a chicken strip and cutting it up and tossing it in the sauce of your choosing. A little weird, but tasty just the same. read more

Great food and nice servers. We stopped because reviews were so good and were not disappointed one bit. Love the different sauces on the table for you to try. Definitely will stop again! Large bathrooms make it easily handicapped accessible too - only suggestion is to put in a changing table. read more

This place was AWESOME. I went with my 8 month old and hubby. The food was great and the place was clean the waitress and owner were SO KIND. And very considerate when it came to our son. She brought him some cups to play with. Which is great because babies love stuff that they shouldn't play with can't wait till the quarantine is over to eat here again read more

Truth be told, my wife and I happened across the American Grill while looking for a different restaurant we ate in a few years ago, but boy, are we glad we stopped. First, the restaurant is clean inside and out and the staff is very friendly and knows the menu well. They've got a nice variety of smoked meats and sides. The portions and prices are quite reasonable. I had a combo of chicken and brisket which was smoked to near perfection, tasty and tender with a nice variety of home-made BBQ sauces. The wife had a (huge) half chicken. Alcohol is available as well and on the weekends, stick around after dinner for some musical entertainment out back under the patio. My family and I had tried American Grill for first time last night. Loved everything we tried. Had the smoked wings, they were the best I've ever had. Not really a fan of smoked wings but these were delicious. Not an over powering smoky flavor. Also got a burger wrap which was very good and my daughter loved the ribs. I recently stopped in at American Grill, i took advantage of their outdoor dining area because it was a nice evening. I ordered the cheeseburger platter ordered it medium rare. This was a thick juicy patty, it came with a side of fries which were hot and crispy. Now my service was not only professional i was seated quick, my server brought out my food and drink in a reasonable time frame. My burger came with just cheese and a pickle on the side. I didn't realize it is a build your own burger, so that was my fault, next time i will know. I recommend everyone to try this place if you have not already, and if you did im sure they would love to see you again. The servers checked up on if i needed anything and i saw as soon as a table was empty they took no time to make sure everything was wiped and cleaned for the next customers. My total bill was $10.60. American Grill has great service and it's very clean restaurant. Took me forever to try to get my husband to try this restaurant and now we love it. The bbq is awesome. We've never been disappointed! They have great weekly specials. Kids eat free on Sundays with adult meal purchase. read more

Bourbon Burger and Cadillac Burger were delicious. You could really tell the burgers were well prepared and made with high quality meat. Fries served with the burgers were served piping hot and crisp and homemade pickles were great. The burgers were definitely overpriced at $10 and $11 respectively, but that could easily be overlooked considering how good they were. Their BBQ sauces are served table side and the American gold mustard sauce was tremendous as was the American hot BBQ sauce. Our server was friendly and gladly recommended items on the menu as we were first timers. If this was the extent of our dining experience , I'd have gladly rated American Grill a solid 4, bordering on a 4.5. However, there was one thing knocking this rating down. We ordered their smoked wings. While tasty (I've had much better smoked wings in the area at both BBQ by Barry and Bo Brothers,the flavor and taste was decent enough. The issue was the size of these wings. They were the smallest wings I've ever encountered. The size of these wings were barely 2 inches. While they tasted perfectly acceptable, it's borderline criminal how small they were and that the restaurant would actually serve them. Totally overpriced at 7.99 for 10 mini wings. Next time we will skip the wings. The wings aside, this place is worth a second visit. read more
